We have some very special guests for the next three weeks of our Thailand adventures! Meg's parents will be joining us to explore the best of the South Thai islands, a holiday of sorts for us too. It's so nice to spend some time with some family after being away from home for so long now.
We spent a few nights in a beautiful villa in Phuket to help them get over the jet lag, before heading off to the beautiful and quiet island of Koh Yao Noi. And wow, what a place to start this part of our trip! I have been researching visiting Koh Yao Noi for years now because it doesn't seem to be on many tourists radar, even though it's only a 30 minute speedboat ride from Phuket!
One of the benefits of travelling in the rainy/ off season is quieter hotels, beaches and activities along with everything being much cheaper also! At times there was only us and one other couple staying at our hotel, and most of the time we had the pool all to ourselves. We spent a lot of time just hanging out, enjoying the good weather and getting Meg's parents acclimatised to the new time zone.
We book ourselves a brilliant boat trip with a local guy who did us a great deal with lunch included and head off around the nearby islands in the bay. The trip did not disappoint and the landscapes and islands that we stopped off at were absolutely stunning. We really can't recommend a trip to Koh Yao Noi enough! A bit of a hidden gem for Thailand compared to the other more popular islands.

Hey, we stayed at Koh Yao Seaview Bungalow. As for the island hopping guy, we just walked to the port and spoke to him, we didn't exchange numbers or anything. We just arranged to meet the following morning and paid a deposit to him. There are many people in the East side port area that will be able to help you and you can shop around for the best price with food included
