My father once took a pigeon to the head at about 80mph, whilst riding a motorcycle. He says he woke up on the side of the road, his visor shattered, and a concerned motorist standing over him, calling for an ambulance. The pigeon had exploded on impact, and the motorist had thought my father had experienced some sort of catastrophic injury.
Glad he was ok. I had a similar incident but not nearly that bad, took a 2" dragonfly to the left eye at about 60. I was wearing a helmet and, luckily, OSHA rated safety glasses as shades. Made quite a mess.
I once was on a bus trip, the bus was passed by another car going probably 90mph and it took a bird to the windshield rigt after passing, creating a WALL of bird in front of the bus. I've almost never laughed so hard in my life! We were seated in the front on the second floor, perfect view of it all. As I'm now a motorcyclist I really wouldn't want to hit a bird while riding.. I've ducked for one once, and had some fairly large insect strikes.

Adam is such an iconic yet humble guy that you geek out about him for like 2 minutes and then you both geek out together about whatever you're working on, I love it.
The feeling of things going full circle here is mad, i think it’s fair to say that the myth busters influence is pretty clear in the slow mo guys content (and I meant that 100% as a good thing) so to have Adam working with them is just perfection. He also looks like the exact mix of knowledgeable, cautious when needed and totally mad that he always seemed on mythbusters, epic episode!
I was gonna try to point to one specific moment that encapsulates what you're saying, like his opening shot of giving everyone the Safety Speech followed by goofiness and being batshit crazy while demonstrating his technical knowhow. Then I rewatched it and realized it was just the whole video.
Adam's quote on mythbusters "the only difference between screwing around and science is writing down the results" literally changed the trajectory of my life. It's so good to see him still being this excited about screw... Em. Science!

I haven't watched Mythbusters in years despite wanting to binge the entire series. I'm pretty happy to hear that Adam's hearty laugh at the sight of a solid slow cam, goofy mistake, or result.
What a historic episode. Seeing Mythbusters and Slow Mo Guys crossover is not only a surreal delight, but puts into perspective how Gavin and Dan have totally carved their own style out of this personality-based science show format. I'd say the Guys have earned "hero status" alongside Adam. And if for nothing else, credit to Bobby for making this event happen.
You know some kids in the future are going to use Gavin and Dan as their role models for science, then someday collab like they did with Adam, and the cycle repeats
This whole thing ONLY happened because of Bobby Fingers, and then these guys tried to keep the footage from Bobby. I only watched this vid because of Bobby, and I won't be watching anything from this channel or these guys ever again.

On a serious note, Tha k you so very much for showing Adam's safety briefing before starting the actual firing process. This is widely ignored by smaller creators trying to get their channels and careers started with potentially dangerous content.
Hell, it's not only smaller creators who ignore safety. Veritasium's Rod from God video was completely devoid of any kind of safety briefing, and seemingly also devoid of safety considerations whatsoever, besides just standing a vague distance away from the drop. Seeing the barrel discipline talk here made me very happy.

Watching Mythbusters growing up actually taught me English as a second language without even taking any classes. That show unlocked an entire universe for me, I owe them a lot

It took me 30min to watch his 24min video as I had to keep pausing it from laughing so much, he is a genius. Love the extra footage from the night of the filming
It's crazy how his channel just appeared out of nowhere fully formed. I got recommended his first video by the algorithm, was subscribed within 30s, then experienced several stages of grief when I realized it was the only video on the channel. ... I say fully formed, but each video since has surpassed the last by like... too much. Within 3 videos I expect him to sculpt something the size of the moon, and start a space program just to get a specific camera shot from space for a 3s cutaway gag.

Adam Savage is a very happy cheerful guy but seeing him back in the setting of what Mythbusters was at the beginning made him seem happier than I've seen in a long time. This was amazing.
This is the safest I have ever seen Adam behave. I think he’s one of those guys who is happy to risk his own life for no reason at all… but he will never allow anyone else to be in danger. Big dad energy. Edit: guys. I am talking about his safety record on his personal RUclips channel, Tested, not Myth Busters. He is pretty notorious for ignoring best practices there. Obviously, on a full production TV show they had safety requirements, insurance, and entire teams there to keep people safe and protect their assets. It’s legally required and financially smart. I’m talking about what he does on his own time. I have never seen him put others at risk ever, and he’s more than welcome to decide what level of risk he’s willing to take for himself. He’s always been a “do as I say, not as I do” guy. As I said in my original comment, he never allows anyone else to be in danger.
As someone who watched Mythbusters back in the day, the safety precautions here seemed pretty standard. They were actually probably pretty basic here since there wasn't a whole TV film crew wandering around
I’m specifically referring to how he acts on Tested, where his safety standards are always quite low. Again, he’s never putting anyone but himself at risk, so it’s fine in my book, but I do occasionally find it a little eyebrow raising. I’m sure he had a safety team on MB, and insurance would require certain standards be reached, but he can make his own decisions on his private RUclips channel

It's crazy how his channel just appeared out of nowhere fully formed. I got recommended his first video by the algorithm, was subscribed within 30s, then experienced several stages of grief when I realized it was the only video on the channel.
... I say fully formed, but each video since has surpassed the last by like... too much. Within 3 videos I expect him to sculpt something the size of the moon, and start a space program just to get a specific camera shot from space for a 3s cutaway gag.
@@domobject 100% agree. Bobby's videos have gotten better over time, but his vision for his channel was, as you say, fully formed, like Athena from the head of Zeus.
I wouldn’t want to stop trying different experiments with him, so glad he’s still active!

Adam Savage is a very happy cheerful guy but seeing him back in the setting of what Mythbusters was at the beginning made him seem happier than I've seen in a long time. This was amazing.
This is the safest I have ever seen Adam behave. I think he’s one of those guys who is happy to risk his own life for no reason at all… but he will never allow anyone else to be in danger. Big dad energy.
Edit: guys. I am talking about his safety record on his personal RUclips channel, Tested, not Myth Busters. He is pretty notorious for ignoring best practices there. Obviously, on a full production TV show they had safety requirements, insurance, and entire teams there to keep people safe and protect their assets. It’s legally required and financially smart. I’m talking about what he does on his own time. I have never seen him put others at risk ever, and he’s more than welcome to decide what level of risk he’s willing to take for himself. He’s always been a “do as I say, not as I do” guy. As I said in my original comment, he never allows anyone else to be in danger.
As someone who watched Mythbusters back in the day, the safety precautions here seemed pretty standard. They were actually probably pretty basic here since there wasn't a whole TV film crew wandering around
@SynchronizorVideos we just never saw them actually DISCUSS the safety standards in Mythbusters, to be fair.
When Adam has a team, he delegates that to the people hired for the job, when he's on site as the one dealing with the stuff, he does it himself.
I’m specifically referring to how he acts on Tested, where his safety standards are always quite low. Again, he’s never putting anyone but himself at risk, so it’s fine in my book, but I do occasionally find it a little eyebrow raising. I’m sure he had a safety team on MB, and insurance would require certain standards be reached, but he can make his own decisions on his private RUclips channel

@@lucario774pikaDiscovery+ streaming has almost all of them. I've scrolled them a few times recently looking for specific episodes and there are only a few episodes missing. They even have most if not all, of the one off or off season specials.
