    Hey Matt just wanted to let you know I just picked up a 2024 and I couldn't be happier. It is perfect for what I will be using it for, riding around the ranch in SE Idaho, forest service and BLM roads. I heard they are great for getting into hard to reach hunting spots as well. I watched a few of your videos and yours were the most useful and very influential in my decision making. Thank you brother! Bill

      Hey Bill! Congrats on the new bike! I am stoked that you like it. I have loved having mine. I am really glad the videos helped and that you enjoy them. If there is a video on something you'd like to see with the TW that I haven't already done, let me know and I'll see what I can do! Thanks again and welcome to Tdub Nation!

    We were on pre-order for 8 months. Dealer called and said we have a 2023. An older gentleman bought it, he waited forever to get a tdub and he got sick and never even got to ride it and ended up passing away. The dealer bought it back. I was choking back the tears when I signed the paperwork. So I'll leave you guy's with this, It doesn't matter what you ride just get out there and ride. That day you want to stay inside maybe you could have one of your best days just going for that one ride that you procrastinate about. Maybe your last...

    I been riding dirt motorcycles since 1970's. Started off with Minibikes in 1965. Raced Hare Scrambles.
    Always losing up my Front Brakes to prevent lock up. As using front brake off road can be Hazardous. Rear Drum is fine because less chance to get Damage by Rocks, Roots, Sticks. If Disc Get Damage Can Leave You Stranded, As Rear Wheel Might Not Turn.
    Downshift, Use Engine For Braking.

    I don't think Yamaha should change anything about the TW200. I do think Yamaha should make a bigger TW model. Like a 350cc or 400cc model, 6 speed, bigger tank, high output stator, disc brakes front and rear. The current TW should stay. But a bigger brother would be a welcome addition.

    The color scheme (or lack thereof) isn't the worst by far. The previous year's was my favorite of all time. This to me is just one step down. My second favorite of all time would be the '07 blue/white color scheme. I've owned 2 TW200s in my lifetime. My first was a '95 "fruit loop" color scheme. My second was the '07. Moved up to a XT250 briefly and when Yamaha pulled the WR250 I waited a couple years for it's replacement then got pissed and tainted my loyal blue blood with a CRF300L. Most definitely different going to fuel injected bikes and I hated it at first. It took some time but 1700 miles in and I love the bike now. If things ever go back to non crazy I'll scoop me up a used t dub though. I should always have one in my stable as it is always in my heart.

    • @bryanbrowning5746
      @bryanbrowning5746 Год назад +2

      Turn off the fuel and run it till the carb is dry. I have a 2003 KLR650 I’ve had since new, with 46,000 miles on it, and a pair of 1972 CT90 camping bikes, and never have carb issues using that method. For winter storage, BG44 and Stabil in the tank, run the carbs dry, they fire right up in the Spring! FI is just not great for most home mechanics, due to its added complexity. But, if you don’t work on your own bike, and don’t like the added “hassle” of the tips I mentioned, by all means, go the FI route.

    • @josephthornton8560
      @josephthornton8560 Год назад

      @@bryanbrowning5746 I dont do winter storage, I live in Louisiana extremely hot and humid. Moisture builds up. Not just in the carbs but in the tank too. Ethanol is not going to go away. • @MOBStreet83

      Living in Utah, I have the cold winters and the hot summers and I live at 6000' elevation and go from 4000 to 9000 regularly. As of yet (knock on wood) I haven't had any carb issues. My Harley has a carb also and I ran from Central Utah, over Nevada then over Yosemite to Monterey and it ran fine as well. Not saying it is the best, but the simplicity of it all and not needing a computer to work on my bike is great. Don't get me wrong, I see the value of EFI, but with the TW200 I don't see it as a necessity.

    I am thinking of buying my first Motorcycle. My question is with regards to the TW200 Carburetor versus a Fuel Injected Motorcycle (i.e. KLX230). How reliable is the Carburetor? Is it easy to maintain? My friends tell me I should look at a Fuel Injected Motorcycle. What are your thoughts? To tell you the truth I am leaning toward the TW as my first Motorcycle, mostly because of the looks and I don’t want something so powerful that it would get me in trouble as Newb. Also, there just seems to be a huge following for the Yamaha.

      This is what I wish someone told me when I was starting out:
      Carb is more reliable like a horse is more reliable than a car. Really not a huge deal one way or another.
      As for TDubs/xt250 : great purpose bikes. I stress purpose. If you're 5'8 150lb and have short legs and love nature and to hike, camp, fish and have friends or actively looking for friends with same interests TW all the way! ...also XT250.
      BUT if you want to be on the road over 50mph ... disregard all the top speed vids because realistic top sustainable speed of these bikes is low af..like 55? ...if you need to be on the highway for any reason, if you need you haul you gf , if you plan on impressing a potential gf(lol kidding), if you're 6ft, 180lb, if going fast makes you happy ...And I don't mean reckless fast...just regular fast than TW isn't a good pick.
      As for first bike and not getting into trouble thing I wouldn't worry about it at all. Just don't get a liter bike or a 600 and you'll be fine.

      I have both the KLX230S and the TW200. I would take the TW200 all day every day over the KLX230. The carb is easy to use and maintain over efi. The TW200 is hands down more comfortable than the KLX230S for me and my wife. The TW200 can be bump started if the battery dies and I love the fat tires for traction. I'd take the TW200 any day

    Fuel injection and rear disk brakes would be awesone cause a new paint job isn't that appealing. I have a tw200 on order but I'm leaning more now towards a honda crf300l instead. Here in Canada for 300$ more to get FI, 6 speed gearbox and a fuel gauge just are pluses that I can't ignore.

    • @MOBStreet83
      @MOBStreet83  9 месяцев назад +1

      Why fuel injection though? Also, if you are shorter rider, the 34.7" seat height of the crf vs the 31.1" of the TW200 is also something to take into consideration. My KLX has a six speed and in 6th gear I can't gain any speed. My TW200 is faster than the KLX and I can adjust the idle where I can't on the KLX. I think the CRF is better than the KLX in that regard, but I still can't really see why so many folks want fuel injection. I have been riding my TW's for 5 years and haven't had any issues with the carb and I live at 6,000' and run from 4,000 to 10,000 so far without problems.

    • @WoodsUnknown

      @@MOBStreet83 I guess it's because of price that I go for twice the power and I'm over 6 feet tall and my wife is 5'3 on her tip toes so that's why I'm looking at the shorter bike. But like I said for 300 more you gain twice the hp and even without FI you still get front and rear disc brakes and inverted front forks. The little TW will go in my stable but there's alot of upgrades that should come stock.
