- Maliketh is my favorite Elden Ring boss so far. He is very challenging, requiring lots of practice. I haven't had this much fun with a boss in a while. Captured on PS5.
Nicely done. I'm a STR build too and just got to Maliketh myself, this video showed me I need to be more patient and not just go for unga bunga jump attacks the whole time.

Yea hes pretty unpredictable in his phase 2 and he gives you small openings but as long as you wait it out u should be good

I love how every single time he did that blade ball attack you couldn’t dodge it, and you had an incredible fight. Fuck this entire fight because of that one specific attack. Every other part is great.
dude that attack is just lame. it's not reliably dodgable it's ALL about getting lucky
@@enol1466 I never got hit by that even once. When swings his sword in a circle in the sky just roll dodge backwards..............
@@sagnorm1863 Over time I've learned to flawless dodge it.. that said...its still an extremely weird window and a screwy ass attack...so like...shut the fuck up?
@@enol1466 You want to try and get behind him for that attack. I struggled with Maliketh a lot but ended up doing that and also using the blasphemous claw. Beat him yesterday also with a claymore/strength build.
It is rather easy to dogde just very counterintuitive. If he stabs into the ground he might do the AOE attack or the walmart waterfoul dance. For the latter after he slashes upwards you roll into to him and it will miss every time. For the other times he does it there is a large build up time. Staying close to him in the second fase is key, because he does the ranged attack less as well which has a really powerful end to the combo
Omg, so the first time I played Elden Ring I resorted to using mimic tear from godskin duo onwards and I felt ashamed as I've completed every other Fromsoft game solo as melee build with no buffs, no summons.
So, I was determined to go back one day and do it all like that. So far so good, I'm all the way to Maliketh and have only played solo melee with no buffs or anything.
Been trying to beat Naliketh for 2 days and just now I had full health, took his health down to nearly zero and I staggered him! Did a critical on his head and the health bar was zero! I sat there breathing, celebrating - only to realise too late that he had a smidgeon of health left, he got up and killed me!
Lol. If only I'd realised, I could have gone in for one final hit!

I’m currently trying to solo the game and I’m stuck on maliketh, the most painful part is that you’ll still have a lot of flasks and you would have gotten his life down to almost zero then he just one shots you, really annoying

This video is a great showcase of why STR weapons are so shit in ER. Because the attacks are so fucking slow it's nearly impossible to get hits on more agile bosses with anything other than jumping/rolling attacks lol
yeah i’ve solod the entire game w a great sword up until this point and I have tried roughly 50 times and haven’t gotten close. Feels kind of impossible for me
@@tyler547 bro mimic helped me out so well like I didnt like the boss because it was just running attacking running heal which isnt fun and mimic helped so much in first phase second wasnt that bad even without mimic because he gets 1 tapped but 1st phase is so bad with greatsword
yh and the vid shows the only way to win is by rolling and poking because thats the fastest colossal sword attack by far.

Probably Myazaki was tired of hearing "casul Who levelled dexterity" and decided to make bosses that can be very challenging for strenght builds😂
So the only attack you can get off in time is the poke… strength builds are so unviable in this game.
no lol this guy just doesnt know how to use greatswords, greatswords are good but they take more time to get off charged so it takes longer to learn your openings, but once you can get a few charged attacks off it will shred a bosses poise and then its repost city
go check one of those vids where you can check poise damage of weapons... weapon arts are for big damage, r1s are for quick damage, heavy and charged attacks specially are for knocking the enemy down to do a crit attack. did the whole radagon and elden beast fight by tanking hits while fully charging the grafted greatsword, easy.

The second part shows how shit is the boss design for str weapons. Watch it again if you don't believe me: there is one and only one move that is punishable, the horizontal slash followed by a delayed attack. It's the only move that he uses to deal damage and when he tries another attack window he gets punished. This is not a responsive fight, it's a "run around the arena waiting for one and only one precise move" fight. Boring and repetitive.

What gear are you wearing here? I’ve been using Lionel’s armor and a great shield but you just can’t block his hits, I guess I need to learn how to roll now lol

If he didn't have a second phase I simply wouldn't be able to beat this guy lmao, his 1st phase feels so random and erratic its almost impossible to do 1st try
Bruh I wish he didn't have a 2nd phase..
maybe abit late comment but you can actually cheese first phase using the pillars to kite him around and do 1 hit every now and then by doing that you dont need to waste any pots let the pillars eat most of his attacks
fr tho I had to use mimic on first phase I mean hes useless in 2nd but 2nd is wayyy smoother and easier than first

Snoozefest. And it's not your fault, you did fine. It's the developers' fault.
They nerfed str builds by slowing down the speed of the attacks too much and giving them ridiculously long recovery time.
It's just not fun playing this way.
