5 Best Builds to Beat Promised Consort Radahn
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 авг 2024
- Promised Consort Radahn is one of the hardest bosses in the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. I struggled with this boss a lot but feel like Im finally improving so i thought I'd share a few of my attempts using different builds! My first attempt at Radahn took me around 5 hours to beat him but I had to use the deflecting hardtear a lot to deal with some of his combos! Hope this video helps some of you!

Unfortunately the Impenetrable Thorns have been nerfed with the latest patch (30th July 2024). The rest of the builds are unaffected though.
Bro I beat him on my 1st one with the thorns and I didn't even know it was meta. And now I can't do it again bc they make it pretty ass 😔
I used scarlet aonia + blasphemous blade. The rot works very well. I also yelled a lot, cursed From Software, wondered why I was inflicting so much pain on myself, and questioned the meaning of life. After 48 tries, I beat him. Mimic was the MVP though. I'm sorry I yelled at my mimic so much "hit him!!! What the f*** are you doing?! Help me!!!"
I remember the good old days of Tiche flying in out of tower and pouncing on enemies. Good times
My mimic became a simp half fight, can’t believe he betrayed me like this
48, jesus it took me 500, i did parry only but it seemed like the best option without summon and built switch off quality.
@@luqqs3047 500?! Bro this surely is a generic number right?
@@gabzsy4924 i rounded it was 473, i like to slamm my head against walls tho and i dont summon, i think with good build against him + mimic u can get it down under 100.
When Radhn walked out I yelled "YES!! I know this guy, he's a friend from work!"
This is heckin epic Reddit Chungus bro! UPDOOT on me!!!
what
@@rubub8455 Its a Thor Ragnarok reference
😂 I'm gonna watch Thor Ragnarok again. Thanks.
@@angelsalvador9425 I understood that reference!
Dryleaf Arts-
"How did you beat Radahn?"
"He was tough, but even a god has a hard time taking 200 freezing nut shots. I even grabbed and twisted them."
What Martial style is that I would love learn that type Martial Arts Irl that has Freezing Testicular Torsion
4:03 - Miquella: "You dare use my own spells against me, Tarnished?"
Radahn, Consort of 40 fps. Really is the worst thing about this boss
40 fps? i get 5
My Xbox Series S is struggling. This shit shouldn't be happening
@@saberkiller4567Even PS5 drops some FPS in this bullshit. Not only it makes the fight look way too overdone and messing up with the learning of the moves, it also simply fucks up with whatever console you're on. This really is one of the worst designed bosses ever
@@hygormotasantos4035 dude my ps5 can handle everything but really? It's worse than I thought.
@@saberkiller4567 Just defeated him for the first time. Almost got killed cause of those "echo" attacks, FPS on my PS5 goes to waste on these
I was using the dry leaf arts but them switched to danes footwork since it does more guard counter damage. i was doing like 3500 damage per guard counter it was insane! Great video, man!
Yes I posted a video where I did a full run with those weapons, they were really fun.
Wait how do you do the guard counter with fist???
@@jameswtlocs deflect hard tear inside your flask(you get that from the first fournace golem you can encounter), then you 2 hand the weapon and when an enemy attack is about to land, you use L1 to block and then, once you have blocked the attack, you use R2 to do the guard counter
@@ainrun So you don't think he's tougher than Darkeater Midir
Everyone sleeps on Poleblade of the Bud, it's relatively fast and inflicts Scarlet Rot. Radahn is weaker to piercing weapons so this weapon worked well for me🔥
I’m not your poleblade, bud
its awful and the scarlet rot build up is slow to the point of being near useless against consort radahn.
Nah use the Rot Rapier. Way faster
This was one of the most informative videos on the topic, thanks. Every other video is like "mimc, finger shield, poke"
Fingerprint Shield.
Poking Weapon of Choice.
Bleed Grease.
Shield Grease.
Shield Talismans, Stamina and Stamina Recovery Talismans.
3 Rot Pots to Radahns Face.
Ggs.
I honestly don't know how else to beat him, outside of spending countless hours learning frame perfect rolls during a laser light show.
Fromsofts idea of difficult bosses has ALWAYS been the same. It's the bosses who NEVER STOP attacking.
How do I get the shield if lyndell capital is already ash
@yeab9919 You can get a decent one from an quest NPC just before the boss if you don't have it
You say that, but Malenia isn't like that. And she's the next in line for the title after this fucker.
She's slow, staggerable, and hardly attacks until you do until phase 2. She's hard for entirely different reasons. And, honestly, 90% of that is just Waterfowl.
So I guess it's one of those two, yeah? Either A) never stops attacking and closes distance like a mofo, or B) this would be perfectly doable if it weren't for that ONE fucking attack!
@@GlamadorYeah I went to her right after Radahn in NG+.
Felt so confindet and still died like 30 times to waterfowl move.
Well but I wanted to meme her with big mouth imp ash. Which is just hilarious. Every shot from that thing knocks her of the feet. I had same RNG happening where she just ragdolls through the arena in phase 1 without ever pulling out one move
I beat him with parries, kinda negates most of his combos. That and the deflecting hardtear
This Radahn guy has some pretty cool looking swords, I bet they'd make it easy to kill Radahn if you had them
😂
Nahh
there neat swords he has, but they arnt all that great to use against him also.
Ty, cleared it pretty quick with the thorns build, gonna grind back here and try it with a melee build next
Phase 2 is just so wild 😂
I finally know what to use on Radahn! Thanks!
You can counter act his meteors with Rannis darkmoon if cast immediately after you dodge his jump into the air. Ranni's darkmoon can also be cast immediately after he does his light speed attack if you are near him when he starts it.
i was already planning a Thorns/Bleed style build but this boss is the ONLY one in the entirety of the DLC that forced me to respec off my current Death Sorceries witch build, thank you for that lol
it worked like a charm, cheers mate
Same!!! This is the only boss in the ENTIRE game, except for Rykard because of his gimmick, that made me HAVE to change from my dragon build. I still haven’t beat him, but I’m only like 30-40 tries in. I’m trying to steer clear of the Fingerprint Shield and poke method, but I’m about to cave to an Impenetrable Thorns bleed build. This will probably be the only boss in the whole Soulsborne series that I beat once and have no interest in fighting again. I LOVE phase 1, but phase 2 is just pure, unbridled chaos!
I managed to beat him!
Used Cold Milady. Basically didn’t even touch my ashes of war lmao. Wing stance can be good for closing diatances and doing decent damage. But anything can work if you have enough time to land it.
This is really good video.
Cheers! First time seeing multi ring of light - looks interesting.
Radhan is a beast and enjoyed the 50 plus times it took me to beat him! Thank you Software, for not making him easy! ❤
Don’t forget Fingerprint Shield + Antspur Rapider. Total cheese.
I used mohgwyn spear instead works very nicely
Sword Spear and Bleed Grease did the trick.
And 3 heft rot pots
If you can use the scholars shield or shield grease… yeah gg Radahn it’s over
Honestly can't believe a video with builds to beat Radahn doesn't include this. Just L1 poke to death, completely ignore his entire moveset, he becomes a complete joke.
toxic gamer alert
Radahn was the first fight where I actually recorded and studied footage of my deaths just to beat him. I do this for no-hit runs but never for just making it out alive. Phase 2 is so oppressive at first that you just die without learning anything. Wound up doing it in like 55 tries with Square Off, but had to learn literally every move the hard way
This boss forced me to learn how to use the Buckler shield. It honestly made this fight a joke. Highly recommend it if you’re having trouble (pair it with the Miséricorde)
Oh my god it’s Gwyn all over again
Yeah for the first phase.. the second is just Michael bay mind wtf
@@scal221 Trust me if you stay right on him at all times he’s pretty free (if you’re parrying). Just takes s bit of practice
Yeah and then they Say its the hardest fromsoft boss
I genuinely found going in with a shield with carian retaliation and an antspur rapier and parrying him to be the easiest strategy for this fight
That is exactly what I am doing except I am golden parrying him
i reached 24 faith with the crystal tear which gives you an extra 10 points. my current faith is 22. I cant use the impenetrable thonrs. any idea how to make it work?
Thank you for the hint! Multilayered rings of light made short work of him. Was running 70 INT 45 FTH so I used the golden order seal to cast the spell while holding the dryleaf seal on the other.
Carrian retaliation + miscerode. Ever faithful
I listen to this when going to bed, would recommend, great voice, great hair
Glad i didn't see this video before i beat him. I my lack of self control would've had me cheesing him with the thorns. I can see those getting a huge nerf
Reporting back to this video to say that THIS GUIDE HELPED ME FINALLY BEAT RADAHN. Specifically the impenetrable thorns one. I've never beat a boss with anything but a sword before now, but that one looked so fun, so I respec-ed into Arcane and Int and after a bunch more tries I finally got it. Thank you so much for this guide man, I'm now using that same build to help friends through other bosses in the game and it's blowing everyone's minds!
That's nice, GGs on the win.
If your a strength build, you can power stances 2 great stars. The left hand with cold infusion and cold mist to proc frost quickly and the other one should be heavy infused. You then will just use a bleed grease on the heavy infused one or if you have time, blood flame. The boss gives very little window of time for buffs so I recommend just the quick grease.
Your best options will be jump attacks and basic R1s. You get a lot of ur health back from this strategy due to its passive. With claw talisman, the new chest piece that boost jump attacks while procing bleed and frost, you should be able to do a lot of dmg
If it’s throb sorcery can’t you use the staff that also builds up thorn sorcerers
Scarlet Aeonia and Milady was the only thing i needed✨
Black steel great shield works really well with sacred affinity makes it 100% holy resist
Thank you. You saved my mental health.
What chest piece do you have on during the Dryleaf Arts portion?
Instead of using the smithscript daggers I would recommend using the claws of night because:
1. Claws do more dps
2. Better scaling
3. Way easier to proc bleed or frost
So basically, the smithscript daggers are just completely outclassed by the claws of night.
Cold cross naginata + heavy fingerprint shield helped me. Its special because it has pierce, frost and bleed which he's weak to AND you can attack while blocking.
Yep. You can poke radahn during most of his combos. Talismans were two headed turtle, greatshield, golden braid, and dragon rest greatshield. Good luck!! ❤
I beat him after 7 tries with a great shield and a spear with blood loss, intense and long fight, but working
Great video. 👍I beat him by bonking him with an oversized sunflower.
what armour is he using in the dryleaf arts section?
Does this still work for fools doing this in New game plus seven getting three shot with Moore's armor and 99 vigor. I'm so cooked I'm burnt.
On my dex/int build, I used Wing of astel + brass shield was the set up I used
wing of astel worked wonders on gaius as well (also on romina, but what doesn’t)
Brass shield just to block part of that slash-slash-double slash combo which is pretty hard to fully dodge
Easiest and most consistent by far is Fingerprint Shield + Poke Blood Anspier Rapier.
It deals bleed and rot while staying safe behind the shield
I used sword of light and darkness, multilayered ring of light and Radagon’s rings to destroy this boss both in 1 and 2 phase in ng+, and I was doing 10k damage with Radagon’s rings in first phase and over 4k damage with multilayered ring of light in 2nd phase. So yeah, don’t sleep on holy damage especially in the dlc.
Everyone felt that scream "F***KIN DIEEEEEEEEE" at 1 HP.
Also any hyper armor high stagger ash + melanias rune and defensive buffs are strong against him.
I havent done him with deflect tear, but i have a feeling thats the real GOAT
Any decent greatshield with the Antspur (blood infused with poison mist ash). You just shield poke him until he drops, not even an issue. The double stack of rot and poison eat him alive and the bleed procs just speed it along. The grab in phase two is literally the only thing he can even hope to win with.
How did you do su much damage with putrescent cleaver? I barely do half of what youre doing!
Because he’s level 401
I beat him with Deadly Poison Perfume and Poison Antspur with "The Poison Flower Blooms Twice", the absolute nuke when you trigger deadly poison, poison and rot was hilarious!
A slept on method to defeating him is slapping carian retaliation on a shield, equipping the dagger talisman and the blade of mercy, and literally just parrying the shit out of him. Any single sword swipe (not the double swipes don’t try to parry those they are not parryable) can be parried with pretty easy and generous timing due to carian retaliation. It’s not how I beat him the first time, but I did it the second time I beat him and it honestly made the fight so much easier. Completely negates a lot of his combos
I was at it for few hours with an int build. got frustrated, specced into thorns and got him on first attempt. T_T
putrescent cleaver is such a nice weapon
I eventually got tired of getting him to down 10% health so the way that i beat him was that i put on the antspur rapier and verdigris greatshield with the greatshield talisman and kindred of rot exultation and proceeded to poke him while blocking absolutely every attack and barely taking any damage
Is impenettable thorns still worth it? It was nerfed right?
Claws of night are an insane sleeper on this boss, 2 boint blank ashes proc bleed and if needed can use range on it asaell as the r2 moveset being thrown but the lights where fast acting melee claw set.
what armor is he using in the dryleaf arts section? it looks sick
I had two people help me beat him, and I'm not ashamed. It still came down to either me or him losing the fight.
I think the only reason I struggled so bad is because my frames drop on like every attack
1:38 saying "sorcerers will like that" doesnt work cause it takes FAITH
It's a Sorcery. Not an Incantations. Hence his comment or statement.
I used high end str build with haligtreecrest greatshield and blood godskinstitcher +24 with mimic. Poking behind greatshield worked very well. Not the most heroic style😅
I beat him with the Claws of Night. The weapon skill works really well at close range against him.
what armour is he using at 2:09
how do you do the guard counter with the dryleaf arts? ive been trying for a while but still havent been able to do it even though i have the deflecting hard tear. Do i need something else for it or do i just need to get good?
2 hand the dryleaf arts and press L1 or whatever is the equivalent to your left hands block button and once you get hit while guarding, press R2 or your heavy attack button to counterattack with them
@@SadBoiWarp it consumes so much stamina for me but barely anything for him, got any ideas?
@@dT4yu I'd honestly use a greatsword like the Claymore and infuse it with cold or whatever infusion you prefer and a medium shield and guard counter with that strat since you'd have more reach and more posture damage. If you wanna stick with the dryleaf arts then I don't have a suggestion since I've not really used them for boss fights before.
Devonias hammer + deflect tear + guard counter, double turtle neck, and two handed sword talismans shreds radahn
Do you have a link or screenshot of your Dryleaf Arts build for the talismans, armor, ashes of war, etc that you had equipped?
You can find the build in my martial arts video in my channel!
2:16 Actually, the Maternal Staff is kinda bugged right now. instead of only applying a portion of it's arc scaling to blood sorceries for a ~40% status boost like the Albinauric Staff or the Dragon Communion Seal it applies the full 165% arcane scaling to the status build up.
oh that's very interesting, explains the one hit bleed procs.
The thorns were nerfed like a week ago, the bleed build up decreased frok 72 to 17
My mimic lockin last 5 second and proc bleed. He's the real one
0:47 "FAITH TWO"
This boss is my new Manus
I used a keen uchigatana and a keen nagakiba dual wielding with no armor. Then I used mimic tear at the start of second phase. I died to him a lot doing the fight without mimic so by the time I used mimic I knew the fight pretty well. Once I started using mimic tear, I beat him second try.
Haha wow @3:56 I was scared for you bro. Same thing happened to me except i died
when i found the putrescance cleaver i'd already been using a cold infused butchering knife - i had bloodhound step on it but switched to savage lion's claw after the DLC came out. imho i think the cold butchering knife is low key better. the damage is similar, the frost is similar, and you get 1% max hp back every time you land a hit. i don't use the cleaver's weapon art really ever, soooo
but i'm also biased, because i've loved the butchering knife since release. something about it, lol. brilliant weapon.
I had completely forgotten about the deflecting hard tear. I've probably been making things way harder than they need to be on my dryleaf arts playthrough.
Taylew Golem summon and Heal from Afar, stay locked onto Radhan when you wanna heal Taylew since Radhan is almost always in Taylew's face.
Wait i dont understand why you didnt take damage at all from the savage lions claw. I know palm blast gives hyper armor but you still take damage you just dont get staggered
I was using a Frost banished knight sword did the job fine enough
I’ve beaten him about 40 times now through co-op just helping people, i’d say nothing comes close to a status effect shield poke build using the fingerprint shield and scholar’s armament
I was able to brute force him at lvl 180 with prayerful strike and smithscript greathammer.
what ash of war are you using with the fist and if you are not using one how do you deal forst? amazing video!!
The Black Whetblade allows you to put Cold Affinity with any Ash of War.
We need a sunglass tailsman
I didn’t know this was a “git good“ video
Whats the build you used for the impenetrable thorns? i seem to not be doing as much as damage
Maternal Staff and 99 arcane is the most important thing, anything else doesn't matter. You will get 1 hit bleed procs with just those two things.
On my second play through I did a magic build and I decided to try carian slicer for this boss because I was struggling a bit and wanted to experiment. I didn't know it was so strong, why does that magic have more dps than anything in the game??? Legit 2-3k damage every time he gave me an opening, more than 4k on longer openings.
reduvia with the highest poise armor, can't change my mind.
We got Ainrun turning family friendly before we got gta 6
Okay
Big hammer from the black knights (sacred infused), perfect block tear, guard talisman, physical and sacred defense talismans, Malenia great rune.
just attack with guard counters, 3 of those will stagger. best build for me
Can somebody tell the build details of the multilayered ring of light build? Like what are the talismans, second tear used, other incantations etc? Would really appreciate it!
Just get a lot of faith and upgrade the seal to max. You can equip flock's canvas talisman for more damage but better go with defense talismans like Dragoncrest Greatshield and Golden Braid
Beat him with the claws of night pretty easy, i reccomend trying them for those who havent, shard of alex and the new throwing talisman buffs the Aow
I used Moore set with Moore shield plus nine and the rotknight blade plus 25 with bleed on it after 6 tries I beat it
Broooo!!!! The thorns… appreciate you 🥹. I finally beat that MF’r haha 🙌🏾
What talismans and crystal tears did you use for the sorcery build?
The only talisman that really mattered was the beloved stardust for the cast speed. The damage you get is from the bleed which doesnt really get buffed by anything other than the arcane stat!
The best build is porcupine and its not even close 😎
There is an alternative weapon that can be as good, or even better than the Putrescence Cleaver. That's the Death Poker, that weapon helped me a fuckton in the DLC and beating Radahn aswell. It's Ash of War is still busted.
I love/hate this fight. At the peak I was cursing these two as the lothric fight homage that they are. Yet I love it lol
Best build to beat Radahn is Mohg spear and fingerprint shield..
..if you're struggling to find openings..you can just attack and guard at the same time..
You can use the Ash of war when you see and opening for big damage
Biggest thing to look out for is phase 2...standing in front of him will see you getting your heat stolen
It took me around 6 tries to beat him with this build..use your usual bleed set up and you're good to go.
hey man do you have the build for the putrescence cleaver?
His build is literally just 60 in every stat. It’s not a build.
“Packs a heavy punch, literally” and “fist weapons”
When describing a weapon that literally does not punch. It just has kicks and palm strikes
Man that thrones build sure did the trick! Thanks
