Reporting back to this video to say that THIS GUIDE HELPED ME FINALLY BEAT RADAHN. Specifically the impenetrable thorns one. I've never beat a boss with anything but a sword before now, but that one looked so fun, so I respec-ed into Arcane and Int and after a bunch more tries I finally got it. Thank you so much for this guide man, I'm now using that same build to help friends through other bosses in the game and it's blowing everyone's minds!
I was still able to beat NG+7 Consort Radahn with the good old Scavengers Bleed power standing jump attack build, strong base game build still carried me through the DLC
You can counter act his meteors with Rannis darkmoon if cast immediately after you dodge his jump into the air. Ranni's darkmoon can also be cast immediately after he does his light speed attack if you are near him when he starts it.
I tried fighting him with a guard counter build. Phase 2 was easy, but phase 2 was where i could barely get guard counter off with the light beams. And if i missed a guard counter, id be dead in less than 5 seconds with 60 vigor and 70% physical negatoon and 50% holy
Instead of using the smithscript daggers I would recommend using the claws of night because: 1. Claws do more dps 2. Better scaling 3. Way easier to proc bleed or frost So basically, the smithscript daggers are just completely outclassed by the claws of night.
I used sword of light and darkness, multilayered ring of light and Radagon’s rings to destroy this boss both in 1 and 2 phase in ng+, and I was doing 10k damage with Radagon’s rings in first phase and over 4k damage with multilayered ring of light in 2nd phase. So yeah, don’t sleep on holy damage especially in the dlc.

Just get a lot of faith and upgrade the seal to max. You can equip flock's canvas talisman for more damage but better go with defense talismans like Dragoncrest Greatshield and Golden Braid
Also any hyper armor high stagger ash + melanias rune and defensive buffs are strong against him. I havent done him with deflect tear, but i have a feeling thats the real GOAT

I beat him with Deadly Poison Perfume and Poison Antspur with "The Poison Flower Blooms Twice", the absolute nuke when you trigger deadly poison, poison and rot was hilarious!
Best build to beat Radahn is Mohg spear and fingerprint shield.. ..if you're struggling to find openings..you can just attack and guard at the same time.. You can use the Ash of war when you see and opening for big damage Biggest thing to look out for is phase 2...standing in front of him will see you getting your heat stolen It took me around 6 tries to beat him with this build..use your usual bleed set up and you're good to go.
If your a strength build, you can power stances 2 great stars. The left hand with cold infusion and cold mist to proc frost quickly and the other one should be heavy infused. You then will just use a bleed grease on the heavy infused one or if you have time, blood flame. The boss gives very little window of time for buffs so I recommend just the quick grease. Your best options will be jump attacks and basic R1s. You get a lot of ur health back from this strategy due to its passive. With claw talisman, the new chest piece that boost jump attacks while procing bleed and frost, you should be able to do a lot of dmg
Amazing video. In the smithscript dagger section, it looks like you’re able to just stand there and tank radahn’s holy attacks like the big ass explosion he starts phase 2 with or the continuous afterimage strikes that follow after he attacks with his meteor. How?
how do you do the guard counter with the dryleaf arts? ive been trying for a while but still havent been able to do it even though i have the deflecting hard tear. Do i need something else for it or do i just need to get good?
2 hand the dryleaf arts and press L1 or whatever is the equivalent to your left hands block button and once you get hit while guarding, press R2 or your heavy attack button to counterattack with them
@@dT4yu I'd honestly use a greatsword like the Claymore and infuse it with cold or whatever infusion you prefer and a medium shield and guard counter with that strat since you'd have more reach and more posture damage. Wait i dont understand why you didnt take damage at all from the savage lions claw. I know palm blast gives hyper armor but you still take damage you just dont get staggered
i reached 24 faith with the crystal tear which gives you an extra 10 points. my current faith is 22. I cant use the impenetrable thonrs. any idea how to make it work?
No it's not been nerfed. If you hold block, you will take damage, you need to time the block input right before the attack happens to get the perfect deflect. This doesnt work with every attack but should work with most. Stamina drain is based on your weapons Guard Boost, the more it has the less stamina it consumes.
Do I ABSOLUTELY need to summon those 2 (thollier ansbsch) for there quest. I can beat him alone but I don't have a way to beat him with 3x (ish) the health. On my second play through I did a magic build and I decided to try carian slicer for this boss because I was struggling a bit and wanted to experiment. I didn't know it was so strong, why does that magic have more dps than anything in the game??? Legit 2-3k damage every time he gave me an opening, more than 4k on longer openings.
I still think malenia is a bit harder specially in a first encounter because her life steal is unfair. summoning an ash or shielding still has significant drawbacks against malenia as she can regen of it. if phase 1 malenia is as aggressive as her 2nd phase or as aggressive as radahn then it would be clear cut. I'm not proud of it but in my first playthru against consort Radahn i just hid behind the fingerprint shield, brought 15 health flasks, and poke him patiently with a blood infused messmer soldier spear. Occasionally come guard counters. The same tactic will not work against malenia since she heals of off it and i will simply run out of resources.
Any decent greatshield with the Antspur (blood infused with poison mist ash). You just shield poke him until he drops, not even an issue. The double stack of rot and poison eat him alive and the bleed procs just speed it along. The grab in phase two is literally the only thing he can even hope to win with.

I just beat him last night, used black steel greatshield and meteoric ore blade, definitely a tough fight
Best build to beat Radahn is Mohg spear and fingerprint shield..
..if you're struggling to find openings..you can just attack and guard at the same time..
You can use the Ash of war when you see and opening for big damage
Biggest thing to look out for is phase 2...standing in front of him will see you getting your heat stolen
It took me around 6 tries to beat him with this build..use your usual bleed set up and you're good to go.
what armour is he using in the dryleaf arts section?
How?
Deflecting Hardtear, you have to deflect the attack.
how do you do the guard counter with the dryleaf arts? ive been trying for a while but still havent been able to do it even though i have the deflecting hard tear. Do i need something else for it or do i just need to get good?
2 hand the dryleaf arts and press L1 or whatever is the equivalent to your left hands block button and once you get hit while guarding, press R2 or your heavy attack button to counterattack with them
@@SadBoiWarp it consumes so much stamina for me but barely anything for him, got any ideas?
@@dT4yu I'd honestly use a greatsword like the Claymore and infuse it with cold or whatever infusion you prefer and a medium shield and guard counter with that strat since you'd have more reach and more posture damage. If you wanna stick with the dryleaf arts then I don't have a suggestion since I've not really used them for boss fights before.
I had two people help me beat him, and I'm not ashamed. It still came down to either me or him losing the fight.
If I don't summon ansbach or throllier, will they still show up at the end?
Yes. After you finish, rest at the grace and they're to the left of the door you entered from, looking at it from the grace.
How does he take little damage while blocking with the Dryleaf arts???
Because of the deflecting hardtear.
@@ainrun even with so little guard boost?!
Does that still work?@@ainrun
@@TomLostWave Yes of course. It's a feature of the game, not a bug.
@@TW15TEDDRA90N Yes, the guard boost only affects the block, not if you perfectly time it for the deflect!
How are you evading his AOE? It seems you just jump at the last minute or roll, does that work?
You can deflect it with the deflecting hardtear, still does tiny amount of damage.
running and rolling after you hear the specific sound cue works too.
@@ainrun so you can roll even if you are directly in range? Or did you mean getting out of the way completely?
you cannot roll within the range of the AoE, you have to run away and roll at the last moment in case you are slow to get out of range.
Scarlet Aeonia and Milady was the only thing i needed✨
Radahn apparently wanted payback for the first fight with him with all the other NPCs ganging up on him.
I use two cross-naginatas, one with bleed and one with frost using chillingly mist. Does the most damage out of stuff I’ve experimented with on ng+7.
Did they nerf the hardtear? I take damage when I block and my stamina drains alot with each hit...
No it's not been nerfed. If you hold block, you will take damage, you need to time the block input right before the attack happens to get the perfect deflect. This doesnt work with every attack but should work with most. Stamina drain is based on your weapons Guard Boost, the more it has the less stamina it consumes.
@ainrun ah I see thanks
Btw if I spam block will it be good against those weird light fast attacks?
@@mobin1unity Yeah thats what I used to do initially when I wasnt very experienced with his phase 2. Spamming works but its not 100% consistent.
@@ainrun ight appreciate it brother
Do I ABSOLUTELY need to summon those 2 (thollier ansbsch) for there quest. I can beat him alone but I don't have a way to beat him with 3x (ish) the health.
If I need them for the quest then I must ask died anyone have ideas? I'm a faith strength build so 3 of the builds listed in the video I can preform.
You don’t need to summon them for the fight, I didn’t summon them last night and they still were inside his arena after the battle for their equipment.
@@hopelesshalfape9228 Thank you so much! I kept researching if I needed to and I kept getting 50/50 answers.
Much appreciated! Have a fantastic day/night kind person.
Thoiller will be laying dead with u able to get his armor but u need to just reload the area after
@@jonnyfendi2003 noted, I'm gonna assume ansbach is to the right of the door after.
Thank you for the knowledge and location! Enjoy your day/night good person!
Taylew Golem summon and Heal from Afar, stay locked onto Radhan when you wanna heal Taylew since Radhan is almost always in Taylew's face.
I died 50+ trying my best against this boss. Impenetrable thorns... 2 tries. And the 1 try that I died because my cat jumped in front of my screen and refused to move. Thank you.
I feline your pain 🥁
On my dex/int build, I used Wing of astel + brass shield was the set up I used
wing of astel worked wonders on gaius as well (also on romina, but what doesn’t)
Brass shield just to block part of that slash-slash-double slash combo which is pretty hard to fully dodge
what armour is he using at 2:09
Devonias hammer + deflect tear + guard counter, double turtle neck, and two handed sword talismans shreds radahn
Does this still work for fools doing this in New game plus seven getting three shot with Moore's armor and 99 vigor. I'm so cooked I'm burnt.
Can I restart the DLC ?? 😢
“Packs a heavy punch, literally” and “fist weapons”
When describing a weapon that literally does not punch. It just has kicks and palm strikes
I beat him after 7 tries with a great shield and a spear with blood loss, intense and long fight, but working
it was surely a fucking boring ass fight...
im so confused, im using similar faith spells, but im doing absolutely no damage at all to him and iveg ot like 17 on the scadutree
Exactly. Bro probably is using buffs too
1.Grab the golden braid from the shaman village
2.Get the lords divine fortification from Gideon ofnir after beating malenia
3.Get as many scadutree fragments as you can
There you go this combo will give you 90% damage resistance against holy damage, pop the fortification right as he does his big aoe in phase two and ALL of his holy follow ups stop dealing damage to you
Turn his phase 2 back into his phase 1
If you want even more safety against him use the mimic tear and give him marikas blessing plus hefty and normal rot pots
Once you use divine fortification your tear will also have the same damage resistance as you making him immune to the holy aoes and giving him an easy full heal he can use repeatedly while also rotting radahn which he is very weak to
This boss has a lot of ways to deal with him you just have to know which is the best for you
On my second play through I did a magic build and I decided to try carian slicer for this boss because I was struggling a bit and wanted to experiment.
For anyone trying the impenetrable thorns route, I completely forgot that you can spam cast the spell to make subsequent casts faster.
How can i get gold sumon help?
wait how did u block his attacks and not get damaged??
it's because of the Deflecting Hardtear.
Carrian retaliation + miscerode. Ever faithful
