I greet all my biafra brothers, blood is ticker than water no matter any thing, I am also thanking the Moses of Biafra which is Nnamdi kano he has opened alot of people eyes to know the history of where they belong, I am from ika delta state, my igbo name is Chukwuma, I thank God that right from childhood I always move with my igbo brothers, the only problem we 're facing is our leaders they know the truth but they always cover it, God bless all Biafra fighters home and abroad, May almighty God continue to guide and protect Nnamdi kano and his family where ever they 're in Jesus name.....😙😙😙😙😙😙😙

I just got my DNA result and realized that I am 93.1 % African. I am 57.1% Nigerian, 10% sierra Leonean and 12% Kenyan total of 80% West African and better yet I learn from my great aunt(my grandpa's sister that their grandfather came to Jamaica from Nigeria. I wish I could find my ppl. Anyway, I'm (Germany/Ukraine 4.3% Middle East ) and (East European 2.6%). Almost made it..I'll take the 93.1% and the rest because it is who I am.

I am from Ugbodu ,Aniocha north LGA of delta state,Anioma and I am.proudly igbo. We bear igbo names and practice igbo (Anioma) culture. We speak Enuani alongside a language of our ancestors called olukumi tho mixed so much in recent times with the Enuani language we speak.....Anioma in general despite our diverse origin of migration e.g Edo kingdom, igala,Yoruba etc we have all become igbo(western igbos). Proudly Anioma, proudly igbo.

    • @trutel9916
      @trutel9916 5 лет назад +5

The Update, Aniocha, Enuani and Anioma are all places and never a language. This is the time to get your English correct and dont confuse anyone through ignorance or illiteracy. Igbo is the language of all the families that migrated across the Niger river through Onitcha and Anambara areas. I dont understand why you are trying to complicate issues by drawing in the Yorubas and Benin ppeople or the Edo people. They have their own place of origin and theyre not claiming to be Igbos or struggling to own your place. These areas you mentioned are Igbolands and not a no man's land for you to say that Yoruba, Eddo or Benin will come to twist your Igbo language for you and you will accept. How old is Igbo language and we're still speaking it. If you're not proud to be Igbo and want a foreigner to formulate something else for you, then never call yourself Igbo. And that makes you all fools to allow a stranger come and polute your language, the main God given identity by which you are known. Shame on you. You are the ones causing confusion for yourselves. If you deny your mother tongue, you have fallen out of place with your ancestral root and you cease to exist. How can you call these places languages, not even dialects due to some slight differences in pronounciation but that does not even occur in Igbo language or it can't be Igbo anymore. How in the name of God will you be speaking Igbo language and say you are not Igbo? Thaat person musst be out of his senses. This Igbo you are denying today will be the chief corner stone tomorrow as God has destined it to be right from olddd time. Weare superior not inferior but marginalization by the Nigerian govt. has caused to be listening to strangers deceiving you to be separating from your brothers tto join other people bcos they will only keep using you for the land resources. I do have blood relatives there you know? They are part of my family tree from time immemorial. And some others we call Ndi Asaba but our people used to call them ndi Araba. Most of them came from the river rine Anambra area where the State got its name. People across the river Niger are one with the rest of the Igbos in the interland and nothing ought to change. Are you the only people of one tribe living across the river in this whole wide world? And still nothing divides them. If you let Nigeria's divide and rule separate from your language and culture to lose your identity, you have yourselves to blame. Real Igbos cannever deny their identity for a bastardized relationship with the rest of Nigerians or asume fake identity in order to belong or for them not to be marginalized. At the end you must still pay for abandoning you ancestors. Even those people you're running after will reject, mistreat and remind you of who you are. So you better recognise now or you will regret for life. If you deny being Igbos today, they will deny you tomorrow with impunity go and mark it.

But NDI AHABA from NTEJE{NRI} and Not Ndi Araba.
Coming from AHABAM when the Igbo ancestors crossed over from Omambala area.
Asaba is the anglicized form of saying AHABA and this came about because the Colonialists/Oppressors were unable to say Ahaba and entered Asaba and Not AHABA in their books.
This explains why a TRUE AHABA IGBO descendant who knows his/ancestry from NRI will tell you and refer to AHABA and NOT ASABA..NDI AHABA NWA ONYE AHABA.

    ukpuru.tumblr.com/image/122203117527
    Son of Onnese Obi Osai
Inside front cover of the medical and surgical journal of His Majesty’s Steam Ship Albert by J O McWilliam, MD, Surgeon with the picture of a son of the Obi of the Igbo town of Aboh. The Albert travelled the course of the Niger River from 1841.
“‘One of the sons of Onnese Obi Osai chief of Aboh, River Niger’, drawn by John Duncan. The illustration appears to have been cut from a published source and pasted inside the journal. Beneath it is a written note 'Ali Hare came on board accompanied by a dozen little boys, who seemed to be nearly coeval [the same age]. These were sons of the Obi.” 1840-2
Before the British arrived Agbor (or the anglicised spelling Aboh) was known as an Igbo town.
The notion that the Missionaries imposed Igboness and Igbo language on the locals is insulting in that it makes the proud people of Agbor sound like hapless, cultureless victims which is far from the truth.
The Obi of Agbor was a formidable Igbo leader to be reckoned with, and a formidable diplomat who had alliances with Ijaw kings and others.
It is possible that all these people lived in mutual coexistence in a Commonwealth with nobody trying to impose themselves on each other but understanding their ancestral and communal ties, ties which come in handy during times of external attack.
We must negotiate with Nigeria as Biafrans!
We must respect each others rich heritage and the roots of our genealogical divergence without sacrificing our affinity and shared aspirations.
We must take a proactive set of actions to plan for our defense from external attacks instead of scattering like chickens with their head cut off as happened during the civil war.
Hinterland Igbos must recognize the resourcefulness and diplomacy which borderland Igbos have to coexist in Amity with bordering nations who are also kith and kin.
Outer border Igbos must recognize that we are all in the same boat, for instance when Ifeajuna an Onitsha man, and Nzeogwu from Okpanam carried out their ill-advised nationalistic 1966 coup idealistically believing that they actually belonged to a monolithic country called "Nigeria", it was labelled an "Igbo" and Igbos, Ibibios, Efiks, Ijaws, Urhobos, Igalas, Idomas and any non Hausa Fulani who remotely resembled an Igbo was slaughtered with viciousness and extreme prejudice.
It is not language alone that makes us who we are and the borders of Biafra is not limiting, but without a doubt, whether we see it or not, there is something that our enemies see in us when they lump us all together as one no matter how loud our protest that we're not Igbos. We might as well hang together in mutual cooperation and coexistence, or be hung apart to our mutual shame as is now happening at the hands of Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram and a Caliphate who intends to dip their Koran into the Atlantic,...on your soil.
I as an Igbo man am proud to be Igbo!

Pls to my brothers and sisters from Ika and the rest of Delta states, pls could anyone tell me anyone who needs an interpretation to understand when an Igbo man speak. The Yoruba man and illaje and the rest of others variation of Yoruba all are proud Yoruba. The English language have a lot of French words but the English man never called himself a French man. As someone brought up with a variation of Igbo language I have never needed an interpreter to understand when they speak. The people of Edo pls I have never understand one single word when you guys spy so from my perspective I think am more closer to someone who I can understand. Am a grown up and I don’t have to go by the book and agree with the rest of the British and divisions of border. pls this post is not for the Igbo people but for any other group who gives Igbo names and can understand 70p when an Igbo man but disagree they are not a variation of Igbo. This post is for those who are willing to ask question of the language that they speak and allows for grown ups discussion of the subject and not abusive .Nigeria is a grown man in age people are asking questions of political leaders and not willing to abide by the norms so asking ourselves one or two questions is heathy for us to grow as people and as a nation if we are to move forward.

It is a sad thing to me when my bilogical cousines from Agbor down to Asaba say they are not Igbos but their father mazi Eze Chima Kanu left Benni back home before he died on his way back home Agbor was his son and all the rest down to Asaba were his sons and they never care to ask their origin all they say is they are not igbos. I will tell them their full story and who mazi Eze Chima kanu is, and why onisha where he died always look at Benni as their home why it is not. Never mind them they have a reason for saying that but they do jpt knpw the truth about their origin. Yes Eze chima Ogbonnaya Kanu left Benni for sure back to his home town. After the Oba of Benni died mazi chima was to become the oba of benni because the oba then had no son and he Eze chima was the chief priest but the people of Benni said a strenger can never be their Oba so the sent for the son of oni of ife since they are brothers that was when Eze chima that had regarded himself as an indigine remembered he had a place he came from and decided to go home but i didn't make it down home he died in onisha. But before he died his servant was told to come home and tell the story to his family that he had left for over 45 to 50 that was his last wish. Its a long story maybe I will do a video and tell the full storybwith name and place and why their farm land is called onisha ugbo and all the others that left after he dead

One IMPORTANT thing you all have to know is that European Colonialism divided Africa using Physical Boundaries. Even European Religion almost DIVIDED the Nigerian Igbos. Catholics taught their Church Members NOT to marry a non-Catholic person. It is NOW that we (Igbos ) have come to our SENSES. "Onye Igbo bu nwanne gi" White man' s Religion is his Religion. We (Igbos) have our own Culture (Omenani ).
Igbo people are SIMILAR Genetically. They think the SAME way. They are EXTREMELY GOOD in Mathematics AND the Sciences. These people are found among the Akhenatan's people in Egypt that did the SEMINAL WORKS in Civilization ( Number of Hours in a Day,measured using the Sun
Number of Days in a Year, measured using River Nile Flooding Cycle. Number of Months in a Year using the Moon. Number of Days in EACH Month using the Moon. How to ADD, DIVIDE and MULTIPLY. How to compute Areas, Volumes. Discovered the CONSTANT "pi" (3.14) used to compute Areas of Circles. Using MEASUREMENTS found FORMULAR for Volume of Pyramids, Cones, Boxes, Cylinders, Spheres (from measured Volume of a Half Sphere ) etc. The Greeks learnt from them ( Just get a Google Page on your I- Phone or Computer now and "type in " using the Keyboard "Akhenaten" ). Press the "ENTER" key. You should see the picture of Akhenaten Pharoah of Egypt.
These people from Egypt to Kenya to Central African Republic to Cameroon (part of Cameroon ACTUALLY used to be PART of Eastern Nigeria ) to Gabon then to Nigeria. From Kogi State (Lokoja Area, Samuel Ogbemudia's place) to Benue State (Idoma people), Adamawa State (Mumunye people).......Enugu, ,Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, some parts of Edo State are "People" that THINK and REASON the SAME way. They are GENETICALLY similar to Igbos. From names you can tell Kogi State "Igala people, Ogbemudia", Idoma people of Benue State, Mumunye people of " Adamawa State......Igbo people are spread East all the way to East Africa.

Igbos perform a RITUAL regarding some Igbo persons for an Igbo Deity (Alunsi) to RESPECT the Deity by non-Osu Igbos to NOT marry an Osu Igbo. ONLY an Osu Igbo of ANOTHER Deity can marry an Osu Igbo. Until Igbos RESPECTFULLY perform a RITUAL to AMEND this in front of the Deity (Alunsi), a NON-Osu cannot marry an Osu. If you dare, the Deity feels DISRESPECTED and vengefully serves the NON-Osu all kinds of MISFORTUNES like Death in Vehicular Accident, Death of all Children from the marriage, Death to all involved persons.

"RUMU" Is no where found on any Igbo language structure....funny enough "RUMU" is not also found on Ikwerre language structure because they don't know what it is. They don't know how that "R" got there. They have to comply using RUMU as a sort of differenciating what part of Igbo you are talking about. I grew up in PH Ogbunabali, I used to visit Elikahia etc I had friends from the ikwere tribe, When we meet like the ijaws or Kalabari or ogoni people we speak Ibo language, these people strongly believed that am Ikwerre because of my surname. But they never questioned why I don't speak "Ikwerre" They had no reason because the language is igbo language and that is their mother tongue but in my opinion they thought am from ishiokpo side.

Abel Ologbo you are right on.this, this also goes to the whole of Anioma. We are a mixture of various migration history from Edo,igala, yoruba,Esan and igbo. The missionaries and Catholic church together contribute to the adaptation of igbo language and all,Because the igbos where brought from the east to Anioma land to help head the catholic church and preach, say prayers and read in igbo language then. For our culture we can clearly see a mix of similarities from the Edos. But what we have become today despite all that is IGBO. IGBOS OF THE WEST.

Very logical arguments on the issue. As an Ika man, I am interested in knowing so much about my background. This video has brought very important facts to light. However from my studies, a few discoveries I have made based on detailed history makes me believe that the origin of the Ika people is not Igbo land. From my observation, I believe that the linguistic similarities were introduced by the influx of christian missionaries into Ikaland from neighboring Igbo communities during the colonial and post colonial times. The narrator cited similarities in the names of the Ika people to the Igbo people, such as "Ikechukwu." It is easy to note that these are CHRISTIAN names in Igbo language. The actual Igbo names such as Okeke, Ejiofor, Madueke or Maduekwe, Okorigwe, etc, are not fully adopted or integrated into the ika language. Actual Ika names are observed in Ika family names or surnames such as Igunbor, Isibor, Ozabor, Igudia, Imudia, Omodia, etc, which bear similarities to Bini names. However, I cannot say that the Ika people are absolutely not igbo people. It is a fact that the Ika people are also children of Igbo ancestors whose family ventured into Ikaland, settled there, married there, and had children there. I wish to note that I am still learning. I thank the author for this material. Any rejoinder to my comments will be welcomed.

They are ikas not Igbos by virtue of being established as a distinct Nation along with its distinct dialect. Related to igbo yes, but my friend nations are birthed from Nations under Gods scheme. What you call Igbo today emerged from another nation but as soon as it established its own distinct markings as a Nation and also its distinct language it became a nation of Igbo. it doesn't matter whose backyard the language was developed from, you yourselves claim for instance you were once Hebrews, go and read and research and read again what history teaches and what ethnogenesis is.

    Igbankes are Igbos!
They are remnants of Igbos that Binis used as slaves then! Before and during slave trade,Binis used to hunt and capture Igbos and use them as slaves because of the power of the Oba!.Oba also sacrifice alot of the Igbo😔😣
Oba used to trade them to the Portuguese then
But a miracle happened in the great Bini empire, which was a war.Igbos most of the Igbos captured by the Oba(Binin) escaped and find there way out of the kingdom
The IKa's(Igbo) had to settle at there region now, the Onitshas(Igbo) cross the river , Ikwerres(Igbo) and lot of them
Oba(Binis) did alot of atrocities to the Igbos by using them as slaves 😓,. The only part that the Oba could not penetrate is Igbos across the Niger (east of the Niger). Even the British then,it took them 31years(British-Igbo war)Ekumeku war.Igbos were the largest ethnic groups in south even Nigeria as a whole
Some Igbo communities then where forced to worship the Oba, evening now lot of them are paying homage.
Finally, Igbankes are Igbos not Bini, some of them were forced to change there names to Bini names without knowing the meaning in other to be saved during the Nigeria-Biafra war.
How can Bini be forcing tribes to themselves by cooking fake history. They are now claiming that Igbos are from Bini but have nothing to show.Language, tradition etc are not the same
    Igbos speak BIA
Ok, they later claim that IKa's, Ikwerres and alot, learned Igbo language because of the closeness 🥺
Ok what about the Igbankes, see the distance but they still speak Igbo
Example: Nigerians speak English till today but no Nigerian have forgotten his or her mother tongue.
I advise people to start studying history themselves and stop hearing lies from people

The Oyo werw the slave masters and you can see the evidence in badagry and the rest.
This propaganda was set by the British to justify their invasion of the Benin empire they even said the empire was litter with dismembered bodies for human sacrifice 😆 but the portuguese who came before them with no bias described the empire and Benin itself as a clean and beautiful city with straight roads as far as the eyes can see and no need for doors because no thieft, it also stated that that same period england was a land of rapists and thieves.

The big problem here is that people are too lazy to do basic research..For you to understand the history of the Igbos and the Yorubas in Nigerian, you have to first study the history of Benin.. By ancestry, the Benin people are a majority ethnic group in Nigeria, larger than some of those now classified as the majority ethnic group.
Benin is central to Igbo and Yoruba history. Three states in the southwest namely Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos states have a preponderance of people with Benin ancestry and in the southeast Anambra and even Imo have a lot of people with Benin ancestry in Onitsha and surrounding towns down to Oguta and many other Igbo settlements.
In the south-south, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa have a lot of people of Benin ancestry and in the north-central, there are people in Kogi and Benue that have Benin ancestry.,
A lot of people with Benin ancestry are currently grouped together with the Yoruba and igbo.. The Ikwerres and so-called Delta igbos are some of them.
Central to understanding the history of these towns is understanding the origins and practices of absolute monarchy in Benin. From Benin, the monarchy was introduced into Yoruba land and Oduduwa the famed progenitor of the Yoruba is a Benin prince. The majority of the ruling houses in Yoruba land today have Benin origin.
Same in Igbo land. The most revered traditional ruler in Igboland, the Obi of Onitsha has Benin ancestry. It is therefore comical to see some Igbo insist that Ika and the surrounding towns in Delta and Ikwerre are igbo when a major town in Igbo land like Onisha was founded by Benin. A Benin dynasty ruled over even igala for over 200 years. In those days, Idah in Kogi state was a sister town to Onitsha in Anambra state as they were both ruled by siblings of Benin royal dynasty.
The controversy is mainly coming from the migration pattern of the igbos and the tendency of the Benin who are mostly nobles and warriors to accommodate migrant elements in their settlements who engage in all the farming and heavy lifting for the Benin nobility. In due time, as the numbers of the igbo migants grew, their influences became more visible in those settlements.
This is what has led to claims that these various settlements are igbos. That there has been intermarriage and migration doesnt mean a Benin settlement has now become an Igbo town, The original settlers still remember their origins very well. There is a similar phenomena in Ondo and Ekiti state, 2 states that used to be part of the Benin empire.

Ironically they were so furious about been called ""igbos"" (which only suggests the where acting based on what they must have been told, but that didn't bother me so much). The one question I always put forward was to ask them their names, it's meaning in their language and the meaning in Igbo language. The first goes by the name Chukwuemeka and the second Nkechi. After asking them their names and what their names meant in both their acclaimed language and in Igbo language, I then asked them ""what language is their names was coined out from"" the Chukwuemeka was bold enough to own up that it is from Igbo language while the other fellow kept mute. I only told them them they sounded funny 😊😊. Yes they sound ridiculous. Because if ones name is Chukwuemeka or Nkechi or Ndubisi or Azuka or Isioma or Ifeoma etc and you galdly say you're not Igbo, then it's up to you.

@@dennischukwuyem5667 my dear Kelvin, I listened, but nothing new emerged,... however I have noted that you say there's both an Obi of Ika, and Obi of Agbor.
I respect them both as the Ika-Igbo, and Agbor-Igbo kings that they are, and long may they reign!....Isee!!!
No disrespect intended in recognizing them in the way I do, but as I've noted here before, when Nzeogwu (an Okpanam Ika-Igbo man) executed his coup, those who were apprehending, beheading men and women, and disembowelling pregnant women didn't stop to differentiate whether Ika, or Igbo, or Ikwere.
Unless as an Igbo Moslem you only speak Fulani and Hausa, you might get away from being executed initially, until you display ambition, hussle, drive, persistence, and trading instinct,.... that's when they'll see through you and kill you too,.... ie Igboness is in your blood and instinct no matter what identity you desire to assume or desire to jettison.

I think that you are giving an unnecessary publicity to a localized position of a minority folks within the communities you are profiling. You are rendering a more disservice to Igbo unity than you assume to be doing. If you must address this matter, you ought to d so tactically and with mostly questions' posing, not this categorical pronunciations that those who want Igbo divided would waste no time latching onto. Delete this video and remark it into discountenancing the position of those who deny being Igbo -- with facts to the contrary of their claims. If you can't do that, just don't give them free publicity by regurgitating their claims verbatim and saying unconvincing things of your own.

Their stupidity is that, having igbo name and sheepishly saying " we are not Igbos" makes someone like Buhari surprised. Please, dear Ikwere people, change your Igbo names that you guys adopted after you have crossed River Niger when migrating from Benin to either Ajibade or Adamu, if not, you keep getting treated as we Igbos while you keep on inflicting upon yourself with self deceit.

You re a lier. You can never force people that are not yours to be.
Must of the languages, of ika are understood in Benin.
Intermarriage is what makes Edo language not to be strong in ika.
Some of them that migrated from Benin got married to Igbo daughters and their wives languages was abducted by their children put on them by their mothers because those wise could not speak Benin.
Children learn their mothers tongue faster than their father's own.
I personally understand Ika language because the names they gave to things over there, are exactly the same name we call it in Benin.
Is only modem names of persons that changed.
Most names of farm produce are the same.
Names If some animals are the same.
Kings coronation patterns are the same.
Stop the deception just because they have modern names that sounds Igbos.
Go check there ancestral names, they are all Benins.

But it's ok to claim that esan and ika are Benin but ika is not Igbo. I have many ika friends, they hate to be called Benin.
Even the UK that colonised you documented that ikas are Igbos and even the core northerners know ikas are pure Igbos.

With regards to the issue of " Osu " in Igbo Culture, ............please UNDERSTAND this: There are RITUALS done in Igbo Culture.
