    I never had problems with condensation with the Nammatj. Neither in winter nor in summer. Probably in a cold night when two people are inside, condensation can occure. But this is normal. I use my tents normaly alone. Thanks and best regards - Heini

    Thanks for showing your tent. I love Hilleberg. Probably one of the best out there for durability in an alpine setting. I've carried alot of tents on the Appalachian Trail, but now I use a tarp, as I find it versatile and can make myself comfortable in all seasons with a little bushcraft know how not to mention save alot of weight.

      @heinihefti8969  6 лет назад

      Hi John, thanks for watching and commenting my video. I'm still happy with my Nammatj. In point of view weight it's probably not the best solution, but as you said they are high quality and durable. Since now I've never used a tarp. In summer this could be a solution for me if the weather ist good. atb - Heini

    To pitch this correct you need snowpegs, wich again will make you able to set this up much tighter.
    First peg one short end to the ground, insert poles, stretch out as tight as you possibly can and peg the other short end to the ground and the rest of the peg loops. The guy out the vents really tight and firm, then guy out the last 4 guylines at a 5 degree angle towards the vents. This should make the tent really firm!
    Also, the kerlon material strech out alot when wet, tighten the guylines and pegloops on the short ends when this happen. Good luck!

      @heinihefti8969  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Marius, thanks for your comment and your suggestions. In January there was to less snow to use snow pegs and the ground was frozen. I agree that I made some misstakes on my first pitching. Nevertheless I'm happy with my new tent;-)

      Hi Paul, Hilleberg tents are really expensive tents. But they are worth the money. It also took me a lot of time to find the right one. Now I have a black label tent with the Nammatj 2 and a red label with the Soulo. Two very different tents. So I have a joice for my trips. The black label tents are extremly strong and durable. Probably it would not be necessary for my use. They are made for expeditions. But I feel good with it. - Thanks for your comment! Heini

    Judging by the thumbnail it doesn't look like it copes with snow loads half as well as I'd assumed it would. Looks like a very similar performance to my lighter Nallo tent. I guess maybe the actual ripping/breaking point is higher, but the level of deformation looks similar.

    • @heinihefti8969
      @heinihefti8969  7 лет назад +3

      Hi, this is possible. It was my first trip with the Nammatj and I probably have not set the guy lines in a ideal angle to tighten the outer tent optimally. But anyway the snow didn't remain on the tent for a long time. It slided down the walls from time to time.

      @heinihefti8969  6 лет назад +1

      Hi, thanks for watching and our comment. The Nammatj 2 is made for two person. For solo trips you have enough space inside the tent. You have extra space for your gear in the vestibule. It has excellent ventilation and is produced in high quality. However it is not really a lightweight tent. If I go solo I take it only on short trips or in combination with pulk or skis. I can recommend it - despite the high price. Heini

    Hallo Heini... wie ist das Zelt von der Länger her? Kommen die Füsse nicht ständig an das Innenzelt, da es da schnell "flacher" wird?

    • @heinihefti8969
      @heinihefti8969  6 лет назад

      Hallo Reto, Ich bin nur 1,73m und habe so natürlich überhaupt keine Probleme. Das Zelt ist 220m lang. Somit sollte auch eine grosse Person gut damit zurechtkommen. Die Ventilationsmöglichkeiten im Nammatj sind sehr gut. Auch in kalten Nächten habe ich kaum Kondenswasser. Man kann das Innenzelt auch berühren, ohne dass man davon nass wird. Der einzige Nachteil beim Nammatj ist das Gewicht. Dafür hat man ein sehr robustes Zelt.

    I was fascinated by the way this tent has a built in mesh door for summer as well as the full covering. Is this standard? I’ve not seen it on the other videos. I’m seriously thinking of purchasing so I’d be really grateful if you could let me know. Many thanks.

    • @heinihefti8969
      @heinihefti8969  5 лет назад

      Hi John, yes, this ist standard. The ventilation is really good and until now I never had problems with condensation. But I never slept in my tent in really warm conditions (probably it is rather made for colder temperaturs). If you left the entrance area only with mash and both vents are open, then also a night at high summer temperatures should be no problem. The entrance of the outer tent can also be left open. With 3 kg the Nammatj is not a lightweight tent and it is really expensiv. But I would buy it again - it is really worth the money. (I will do my next trip tomorrow with it). Thanks for watching a lot of good trips with your Nammatj!

    Hi heini...this type of tunnel tent design does hold snow well versus a free standing tent? Appeared to be a little sag in the centre at daylight. A superior name in the tent industry I’m aware of and quick to set up as well. Nice jacket as well.
    Kind regards
    Andrew from New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦

    • @heinihefti8969
      @heinihefti8969  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Andrew, I think tunnel tents can carry less snow than freestanding tents with three poles (like the Staika or Allak from Hilleberg). But the snow does not stay on the tent and keeps slipping. Arctic expeditions often use the Keron, which is also a tunnel tent. My tent was not ideally placed for this first set-up. There was not enough tension in the longitudinal direction. There was very little snow that I could not use snow pegs. The pegs I hit in the ground in evening I could barely pull out from the frozen ground in the morning. You always learn something about it... greetings from Switzerland - Heini

In this video was not enough snow. Furthermore the ground was frozen and it was hard to set some pegs. So it was not pitched as it schould be. - Thanks for watching - Heini

      Hi Gordon, the Nammatj 2 has an inner tent with a floor and I mostly use it with the inner tent. Just in the vestibule there is no floor. For winter camping this is even better, as in this way you can dig out the vestibule to get a comfortable place to sit in the tent. Hilleberg tents are expensive, yes. But they are worth the money. They last for ever. I'm happy with my Soulo and Nammatji. I will soon upload a next video where you can see that better. Thanks for watching and your comment - Heini

    see you are stil learning how to pitch up your tent.
    the storm lines should be facing forwards. this would have prevented the outer tent from touching the inner tent with the snow on top. you should watch the instruction videos on the hilleberg site:
    ruclips.net/video/lQjoxtWbjqc/видео.html
    watch from 4:10 to see what i am trying to say.
    And see how the top gets stronger.
    We have a Keron 4. it has protected us from bad weather for more then 30 years. At least 2 times a year high up in the mountains. Only recently it's starting to get damaged. so, your Hilleberg, if properly handled, should be your companion for a very long time!
    good luck with your further trips!!

      Hi Tom, thanks for your comment. You are right. It was my first pitching and I was probably in the mode of my Soulo, that is a freestanding tent. How to set the guy lines ist also important. But there the shape of the tent is always the same. The video from Hilleberg I watched several times. But I finally made this mistake - and this was good;-) atb Heini

      Yes, we had to wait until the 2nd of January, but now we have a beautiful and cold winter. Hope it will continue like this. Thanks for your comment!

    Great video. That looks like a good winter camping tent, but it seems like it would be too heavy for three-season use. How much does that tent weigh? Thanks for posting this video' it looked like a great overnight trip!

      Yes, your right. It weights 3 kg and for use as a solo tent to heavy. For my trips in summer and fall I will go with my Hilleberg Soulo, that is also not really a lightweigth. The Nammatj I bought for short trips with stays for two or more days. The quality is awsome! Kind regards - Heini

      Hi Bill, yes, it would have been possible to go without snowshoes to this place. I planned a longer trip and I didn't know, how much snow I will encounter higher up. Heini

      In the evening the ground was frozen and I could'nt set normal pegs. For snow pegs there was not enough snow. So the tent was not pitched as it should be. But it was a quit night in the snow with my new tent. Thanks for watching and commenting my video - Heini

    give me a break, its a tent ! the only benefit is that you have a cover or something to break the wind . thats the only protection . why live like a homeless person in los angelos ? there are wood cabins or hotel rooms available for less money and you can watch tv ?

      Nothing like leaving all of the bullshit behind and experiencing the beauty of nature for it's own sake....why don't you stay at home and play your PS4 there, then the wildlife can sleep? :-)
