I like how it isn't a jump scare at first and he's just standing in the corner completely oblivious to you.
Agreed. It was scary. I would’ve been confused as if “how doesn’t he notice me?” Surprised Leon didn’t try and tap him or something.
I like how the remake did this scene better.
In the original, I never thought about it too much until now, just how weird it was that Leon would barge into this guy’s house and start asking, in English, about the whereabouts to a very random person. That is, with the expectation of getting any form of useful information.
I like that they didn’t make this about Ashley, and that he actually spoke Spanish. Definitely more realistic, excited to see more.
I agree. I love how much scarier the remake is, and it’s great to see the hunter’s lodge and village expanded.
Also as a government agent on a secret mission you don't wanna divulge any info to anyone, so it makes far more sense in the Remake
The original game looks outdated now compared to the remake.
Lmao no
The original encounter is funny lol. The Ganado should also talk in the remake too.
3:14 I like that they kept the old static sound yet gave it a modern twist..awesome work
Not only that, but the crows you hear around the Village sound very similar to the original as well.
Very subtle, but the walking of the Ganado in the remake makes them look more puppeted and controlled, which is exactly what Las plagas are doing!
The remake looks amazing. The Ganados are much more intimidating and unpredictable, and the combat is very intense and varied. I also love the increased emphasis on survival horror, while maintaining the campy humor. The expanded intro is also great for setting the stage for the Leon and Krauser story. Can’t wait to play it!
I wouldn't lean to one over the other because, both these scenes feel unique and good in their own ways, perhaps even different. Because both games have their own original way of portraying Leon.
The Original Leon will crack jokes in tense situations, usually stay chill unless Ada pops up. Likes to do one liners. And had Paul Mercier as the Voice Actor which adds so much character to Leon itself. Plus, in the Original, in this specific scene, Leon visited to ask the Locals for Ashley, unlike the Remake where he's looking for the cop during this encounter.
Coming to the Remake, The Remake portrays a Remake Original Personality for Leon. And they've given him character development that we didn't just hear but actually played through, thanks to RE2 Remake. It's a realistic approach as to how Leon, just a normal random cop on his first day of duty was immensely impacted by the Raccoon City Incident and since he survived, he wasn't given a choice but to become a trained Agent and is now out on his next big assignment. He's mature and more skilled but you can see through him. You can see that Raccoon City Cop on his first day of duty in there and how determined and cautious he is to prevent any incidents from repeating.
The Remake surely looks better in terms of Graphics and fleshed out scenes since it's a generational gap between the games but honestly....
Both of these two are just two different RE4s which are amazing in their own ways
As far as I know Matt Mercer did not voice OG RE4 Leon, but other than that yeah that insight's just about right
@@janjems_1210 Oh yeah, I corrected it. It was Paul Mercier
its why I’m excited, I dont want the remake to replace the og, I want it to stand alongside it
I miss the "que carajos estás haciendo aquí" diologue in the Remake, but overall, it was still great.
4:20 That scene was so creepy how the ganado slowly walks sideways without loosing eye contact with Leon.
right?? it was chilling
You can't go wrong with the both of them.
You can't go wrong with Ada Wong
@@BerryNiceToMeetYou if it's not wong, it's wrong
The remake looks crazy!!! Phenomenal job!
damn when leon walks in and he's just standing there looking is terrifying in the remake
To put it simply, the Resident Evil 4 remake is absolutely AMAZING, which really makes you wonder why the Resident Evil 3 remake was so TERRIBLE, but if they do end up remaking Resident Evil 5, they HAVE to do it like they did Resident Evil 4, make it scarier, longer, and modernized (obvi). It would be awesome if CAPCOM could do Resident Evil 5 the same justice that they did Resident Evil 4.
Yep.I see them making 5 remake intense being in Africa. I imagine the beginning and things don’t go down right away but things slowly keep getting more and more odd. And for 3, who knows why they messed it up. I assumed it was a quick money grab to distract for village and 4 remake in the very short meantime
@@MikeNapoli1989 I want a Code Veronica remake and I have never played the original. Why? Because I am 90% sure Luis will be in that game.
they should have kept the "que carajo esta haciendo aqui", already in the beginning it shows that they are not zombies and even we find it strange im 2005.
He is saying a creepy Spanish prayer instead, people actually translated now, same feeling
1:42 "What the fuck are you doing here!? Get out you bastard!!!"
I think the one thing I feel that's a bit weird about the remake cutscene is that Leon gets a good look at the infected dude's grotesque face, and even if he didn't expect to see zombies on this mission, I'd think that'd be a bit of a red flag for him. OG Leon doesn't get to see the dude's face until he turns around from the fireplace, and even then the guy still looks relatively "normal".
And in the OG you actually have to fight that guy, whereas in remake, it's a cutscene. Same with jumping out the window.
You still fight the guy. He comes after you when you enter the basement.
You still get to fight him but in a creepy unexpected way
He's just nitpicky, I mean Leon isn't a cop anymore but a government agent.
@@DeathLore Yeah, but it ruined the “mystery” as to why the guy attacks you. In the Remake, you obviously see that it’s a parasite controlling him. In the superior Original, Leon specifies that “He is not a zombie”, which leaves the audience confused as to why he’s bringing that up. It created a mystery that hooks you into the story
@@meiser5198Mistery? Im sorry, but no one that played the original thougt the first ganado was a normal person
The remake does it better: it sells the idea there's something weird with these people and that they are not human. I always thought that Leon showing the guy the picture didn't make any sense (that's what a cop or a private investigator would do, and he's supposed to be on a secret mission), same with the fact he expected the Spanish farmer living like it's the early-1900s to understand English or that he nonchalantly walked inside the guy's house (gun in hand, no less) and didn't even apologize. This time, he even tries to speak Spanish and he's attacked when he finds the bloodied badge on the floor - that's an improvement. OG RE4's barebones plot was hastily written by Shinji Mikami when Noboru Sugimura (the writer of RE2, C:V, RE0, Onimusha etc.) told him he couldn't come up with a full script in the little time he was given and it has always been one of the game's weakest spots. This time around, you can tell that they put people working on the storyline.
I feel the original does this better but the remake does get deeper with some cutscenes about being possessed
@@realamericannegro977 I played the remake over and over again now: it’s definitely better than the original in every way. I
@@thermonuclearcollider4418 I beat the remake 6 times by now.
Ok plot question for the Remake: Why did the police officer wander off into the forest after telling Leon that people disappear in it? Also how is Leon asking the guy if he’s seen Ashley a bad thing? He never specified that she was the president’s daughter nor did he reveal her name. As far as Leon knows, he’s a random ass guy who most likely isn’t part of the kidnapping group and could give some valuable information
@@meiser5198 because he was a dummy and overconfident.
In original Leon come accompany by two cops, but on remake Leon asking about where about of those missing cops. Are leon come alone in the remake? But I saw one of the trailer show Leon was on passenger seat inside a car which seems to be a remake of Leon on his way to the village. Please explain to me what's actually happened.
Plus what happened to the trapped dog? I have watched the demo, but in place where we should encounter the trapped dog, it seems the dog is dead. Is the dog really dead, or it was different dog?
The dog lives
At 1:53 he said "ARGGGGG!!" 😂😂
?
@@Call-of-duty-mobile-is-life huh?
Did you know in the original Leon understand what the ganado said that's why sorry to have bother you
if, you a fan of the series, I guess the question will not be : "Which is better to own?" , but have both versions and discuss..... right?
99% of people will instantly say the RE4 2005 is iconic and the best in the series. Well, I'll add to that: re4make is the best entry in the series, and superior to the original in every way besides badass Leon voice being gone. New Leon is still good in his own way, but can't beat the original's much quippier personality. Some lines in the remake feel forced and don't come as strong like the original. Best example so far in my first playthrough is “Hasta la heugo.” at the start of versing the village chief Mendez. Edit: The remake version example mentioned is too fast to have any real impact, while the original slows for just the right moment in time to make it quippier and snappy. The effect isn't just there, it's sprinkled throughout the original which is why I came to like Leon as a character. The new one's personality is tied to his tragic backstory of Raccoon City and slowly learns to move on as I'm seeing his character arc so far. He's evolving into the badass Leon was in the original instead of the start.
Maybe it's good, maybe it's bad. That part I like to see though with good writing and to make it feel more realistic. So as to which Leon you prefer is up to you, but I do love the difficulty spike in the remake. The original was too easy.
Og jacket is cooler than remake jacket.
I disagree. The remake jacket has way more detail in its design, and it’s deliberately more reminiscent of the RE 3.5 beta versions of the game, which is cool.
I perfer his original jacket and want one
i prefer the original sequens, it´s just straight to the point instead of walking in this house that för me seems to have a somewhat weird design. that also seems somewhat bigger then it seem to be from the outside. like how many people actually have a house with a long corridor like that? where if you want to go to the next room go through a long corridor. it´s just odd, but re games have always had some odd stuff going on.. but still. And did they really need to have the enemies have red eyes? like this encounter would not really suprise anyone which makes the original better in that aspect. where ge just seems like som old man doing his thing. and i do not really get some comment like more unpredictable. from what i played they basically behaved like they always did mostly, except when they rise again. which make them kinda more like crimson heads. the biggest difference for me seems to be graphically. some tweaks control wise, and some added tweaked attacks enemy wise. would be interesting to see a comparison. on the village part with the original.
you're just blinded by nostalgia, the RE animated movies which are canon have already established that the people with las plagus have red eyes
also RE series are horror action game the original RE3 just makes you feel like an unstoppable force when you're supposed to feel scared, this remake has scary feeling to it
The original cabin was stupid. The layout was daft, there was one room on the ground floor, then a staircase that lead to a window and small corridor. At least the remake cabin looks more realistic and like someone could actually live in it.
@@aksheygupta6237 Ahhh purists, gotta love 'em. 🤷♂Those kinds of people just are not willing to accept change because the original is "too perfect" for them and would rather have a carbon copy than a unique perspective, how boring would that be.
@@aksheygupta6237 the animated movies? i would more likely go by the original game instead, but there could be a tint of red in the original too, just not that in you´re face obvious. in this new re4 remake it´s just so extreme that you could instead wonder why he just don´t say something about the eyes.
@@frozone-yeah and how does that make me a purist? a remake don´t need to be exact but the cabin part in the remake is just unnecessary. I hate people that just shove. how someone is because i just don´t like the new "better" version, of the bat. But the re4 remake is not really a "new perspective" from what i have seen. mostly the same game..
Honestly i prefer the first game so far more fun and satisfying i guess the arcade elements make it fun
Demo could be different to real game
Beat the remake twice. Shame all my memories of it are mostly it looking black/excessively dark to the point it’s no masterpiece
Edit: Not excessively dark in a scary way. But in the most annoying way
Dang, you're fast. Got it on release but trying to be completionist on hardcore, having played the original. Still on castle.Did you try playing it with HDR? The game's brightness is fixed and looks great(PS5 should too) without being too dark. What's more annoying is the aimbot they have with catapults, arrows, and axe throws.
@@gamewriteeye769 I lied earlier it was my early impression during some dark parts but once I got urther it was all amazing it’s a brilliant masterpiece my fav re game
Another pathetic hater craving atention
original, best encounter.
Lol, I’d have to disagree. The remake has way better Ganado AI, environmental destruction, scarier atmosphere, expanded Hunter’s Lodge, better combat (parry system and stealth), more exploration, and an expanded intro detailing Leon’s backstory. Both are great, but the remake is looking even better so far.
Not to mention, the remake is exemplifying Leon’s training much better than before, such as showing him speaking some Spanish, using techniques like center axis relock, and being more wary of entering the house. Apparently they’re also going to give the cops more unique personalities and have them play off each other more in the remake.
@@matthewzang6688 why are you replying to someone who is blinded by nostalgia
@@matthewzang6688 Sorry Original is better hes right. Remake is so dark you cant see anything, removed one liners for the "modern audience", censored deaths (leon's head out of the image when he dies), black blood?, knife can parry nearly anything, making the game too easy, bad voice actors (have you heard Salazar and Krauser), changed the iconic soundtrack to generic one you heard in the demo, should I go on????
@@shiv100p the one liners are still there, the blood is still red and leons head is in the fucking image when he dies. U are blinded by nostalgia absolutely. The voice actors are great, if thsy used the remakes voices in the orginal then u would say they are the better voices. U people are insane
