I have played this game since it came out in 1992. It is one of my favorite snes games to play as it is relaxing.
Easy strikes tip: choose Pete as your bowler, select 16 lbs. As your ball weight. Select normal mode. Select 1/2 length oil. When the game starts, move Pete all the way to the right. Next, use the L button to set the red aim arrow all the to the left. Then comes the A button taps, you want the ball to stop full left on the spin and with the bars fully apart on the power. (Max left spin + max power) if you did it right, you should get a strike every time.
I have gotten many 300 games abusing this method.

golf mode does sound fun. Why hasn't there been Mario Bowling, with RPG elements?

    • @maverick_loneshark
      @maverick_loneshark Год назад

Hmmm... it's like you said: golf mode does sound fun.
This is gonna sound harsh towards bowling, but in all sincerity you would need to mix in external and fantasy elements to keep things interesting for more than a round or two.
Golf has many different hole layouts that feature water hazards, trees, sand traps, wind, weather, rough, fairways, hills, pits, and out-of-bounds areas, different types of clubs, golfers, and maybe closest to the pin & longest drive contests, too.
There are also greens that have terrain that is crazy enough to feel like mini-golf, and the different distances to the pin allow for different stroke counts for making par.
Bowling always has the same lane with 10 pins at the end.
Your variance is limited to ball types, oiliness, pin weight, and bowlers' attributes without adding external elements (though I guess black light bowling and decorations can help change things up a little).
The fun factor for bowling is almost entirely based on competing with opponents and friends.
I'd say the golf games should have bowling mini games, if anything.
(I apologize for the rant, but I am in the middle of a quest to get one million dollars in NES Open and I still actively enjoy playing my daily tournament rounds)

Super bowling looks like the kind of game you'd rent as a one off, and wind up renting again a week later because you just KNEW you almost mastered it. And then later at a party or sleepover you wind up bringing it because it's a fun multiplayer game.

Super Monkey Ball 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube was another good fun bowling game that played very similar to Super Bowling for the SNES, just with better graphics.

I don't remember a bowling game on SNES when I was a kid, but that was probably a good thing because going to the bowling alley with friends and families always made for a good time back in the day... I am too young to feel this old haha

Super Bowling reminds me of another bowling game for the arcade, Bowling League I think it's called, for Neo Geo arcade cabinets

Super Bowling is cute and charming but after I found an easy way to throw strikes every single time it got boring fast unfortunately. I wish it was that easy IRL.

Brunswick world as a park would have a 5 drink minimum and all the sidewalk gutters would be full of cigarette butts.

Looks like I'm going to grab a Super Bowling cart for my SNES. I love me some video bowling. Love League Bowling for the Neo Geo!

Super Bowling really reminds me of League Bowling for the Neo Geo. Very fun game as well especially with 2 player. Fightcades a nice option to run it these days for anyone that might be into arcade like bowling games. Fun little vid, thanks.
Edit: Oops others suggested it as well but still highly suggest giving it a whirl!

My grandfather was a serious bowler, so he recognized the names from Brunswick World when he saw me playing it.

I remember renting super bowling as a kid a few times. Fun game, but I stopped playing it after getting 3 straight 300 games. Once you figure it out, that's it.

Amazing how much better super bowling aged than the N64 version.

I’d go for a version based on Kingpin. So I can play with Big Ernie McCracken
