    Going off of your theme of less products equals less complication, I found that Optimum Polymer Technologies products are amazing! ONR, Power Clean, Opti-seal, Opti-bond (and distilled water for diluting.) This combo with a clay medium (towel, bar or block) will literally do everything that is needed for a complete car detail. Juat remember that KISS method everyone has heard about.

      Joe you are spot on! I love that! So true, so true, so true, simple is better in the detailing world, of course we need to understand the complications, and the more we know the better we can do, but I myself have simplified my products and tools over the years of detailing professionally, and almost all detailers I know have done the same, hahaha crazy how that works!

    When I used to pressure clean, we used SuperClean 3:1 to spray on white gutters, let it sit for 5 minutes, then pressure clean. They came out like new. We found Super Clean to be the only product that would remove the black streaks on gutters.

    Luke,
    Try my home brew glass cleaner.it’s very economical and works like a champ.
    1 gallon mix is:
    3 1/2 quarts-distilled water
    1 pint-91% rubbing alcohol
    1 pinch-dishwashing liquid
    You can use paper towel or microfiber towel with it

    My "rig" is an 07 civic sedan...any suggestions not mentioned in the video? I have alot of "b" grade microfiber, buckets, steamer, and a buckethead vac from home depot. It fits on a 5 gal bucket 110v. Some brushes & headlight kit, clay kit.

      Headlights kit gets a big thumbs from me as I reckon there are a lot of people who will be 200% won over after you restore their headlights. Of course this is more applicable to more aged cars.

    I am getting ready to start a small auto detailing business and I have a question that might be kind of dumb. Can you use a degreaser on upholstery and carpet to remove deep stains?

    • @mrpoob8497
      @mrpoob8497 4 года назад

      Evan Bentzel
      Might be too late but a degreaser is fine as long you dilute appropriately according to its strength. Like for mine I dilute it either 10/1 for light stains/spot cleaning to 1/1 for using the carpet extractor. (10 parts of water to 1 part of product, 1 part of water to 1 part of product.)

    I used VRP on a customer's 86 chevy with a vinyl hard top. He was going to a car show the next day. Following morning i get a text with a picture of his windows covered in VRP cause it rained overnight and the VRP washed off the top and ran down the windows. That was embarrassing. Made me learn real quick to read the labels of the products i use.

    Luke!! I got 2 questions I really need your help with. First, how do you go about cleaning tinted windows? will the alcohol distilled water damage the tint? I been using ONR but seems I have to scrub more and its wasting time.
    Second, could I dilute the Superclean to maybe 10:1 and use it as my all purpose cleaner? or is it maybe to harsh still to use on the dashboards and places you would normally scrub with an Apc. Im just wondering if I can simplify my products that might save me some money.

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 лет назад

      For your first question, I would couple the magic eraser with the alcohol distilled water solution then mop up with a towel, and let me know if that fixes the problem, to your second question, yes you can absolutely do that and use it as your all purpose cleaner! It will work just fine!

    Should I throw away my foam pads if I used them to apply a ceramic coating?

    • @caleballen3878
      @caleballen3878 3 года назад

      As a general rule any applicators or towels used to apply/buff the ceramic should be thrown away. Basically the reason we do this is because the ceramic will cure to the towel/applicator just as it will to the paint and unlike wax, ceramic coatings are basically liquid glass and when applied they will harden up and make the towel scratch paint. The only thing i would keep towels for is maybe cleaning carpet. But throw them away if your planning on using them again on the paint. Hope this helps!

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 лет назад +1

      Ya definitely! It's not too difficult of a task, the only specific advice I would offer is BE VERY CAREFUL if it is older, because those soft tops tend to get VERY FRAGILE if it hasn't been replaced and they rip VERY EASILY! But there are a lot of different ways you could go about cleaning it and I think the kit you have will do just fine!

    • @caleballen3878

      Only if your actually going to use them. What I mean is this: do you actually have customers coming in that you will use these tools on? They are both great but only if your actually going to use them. If you have customers and a lot of them then you can probably justify spending $1200-$1500 on a DA and a VX5000. Hope this helps!
