- Sefris of the hidden ways is here to show you that sometimes slow combo is in fact worse than fast combo.

There is at least one trudtworthy baldman. When the Duke Ulder Ravengard player says they are going to drop exactly 3 nuclear bombs on your family, it happens. Day 28 for a roast.
I'm so excited for him to cover the Duke
I still remember fighting Duke for the first time
Me and the other players got looped to death with Yosei on turn 6
@@hobez64Yeah he can be like that. I prefer a burn focus with Terror of the Peaks, Flametongue Kavu, and Fanatic of Mogis.
@@hobez64Duke is my favorite commander. Including Yosei in the deck is super cringe. It’s Winter Orb with extra steps.
I used to have a Duke deck, but it got turned into Initiative/Treasure spam Isshin
As a Sefris stan, I feel so called out and so proud at the same time. Thank you sir, my play group are about to tag the s^$& out of me in discord lol
Same. In particular the part about a game win not even being the goal. I've heavily modified my dungeon of death precon over the last year, multiple times, and from beginning til present never once have I had a clear win con except "be the only person with board presence".
Sefris is a real hidden gem. I thought the dungeons would be a useless gimmick but that deck is too much fun.
Oh the dungeons still are... this could just use exp counters and at worst nothing changes
@@Lightmagician60the reanimating isn't once per turn. Using dungeons is what makes this broken.
Oh I agree they're still useless 😅 I guess I thought it'd be MORE useless. it's still too niche, but at least it pops off ya know
I personally like it. If you build your deck around doing what black and white do best (reviving people, payment optional) and alloy that with a decent removal system from blue, then include a handful of ways to trigger the dungeon, it really does go by 1 small dungeon per turn once you have ramped up, and the dungeons are like a sampler platter of all of the different effects you could build a deck around.
@Lightmagician60 I wouldn't go that far. Being able to always have a source of life drain via is actually pretty handy, because it means I don't need to find a Corpse Knight to combo off.
You can use venture to move further through the initiative dungeon once you get the initiative as well, which is far stronger than the other 3.
A great Sefris deck can pile so many venture triggers it's more like backward long-jumping through these dungeons. The tricky part is lining up an initiative trigger to happen at the right time each time.
"-and Olive Garden reservations, Jeremy!" This has the vibe of being spoken of from personal experience, and that makes it ten times funnier to me
I always have to wonder if he’s actually naming people he plays with, because everything he cites absolutely could’ve happened
“I’m tryna check out those hidden ways” is up there with “I’m tryna join more than forces” as one of the top lines in these videos
I bought the precon initially and disassembled it to make Sen Triplets (which I and everyone else hated). When Baldur's Gate introduced the initiative it really was the missing piece I needed so I made Sefris into an Esper Dragons deck with a dungeon theme and it's one of the most fun decks to play
Deck list, kind sir?
Yes please, deck list. Anything to turn my sefris further into a monster.
I would also like a deck list to make my monstorous deck into one that would get me banned from life
As much as I don't like Sefris, I do have to give it flavor credit, because they really do make every commander game feel like a slow, irritating dungeon crawl
Doesn't help that they're in adversarial DM colors 😂
I still distinctly remember one of the first times I played my Sefris deck (built around the party and dungeon mechanics - no big fat reanimation targets). I chump blocked when someone attacked me, and by the time I finished resolving the resulting tidal wave of dungeon triggers, someone asked me if I was finished with my turn. Bro, we're still in the middle of the damage step - my turn is next.
"Aggressively mediocre" is about the best way to explain Venture into the Dungeon
I have a Sefris blink-reanimate deck that I only bring out when my opponents are running their more bullshit decks.
Basically a pile of infinite loops with counter spells and a couple of spell recursion etb creatures that I trigger again and again to always have a response to my opponents' attempts to put stop me from exploding into a 20 minute play sequence on their turn that ends with me ending them before the Farewell they just cast can resolve.
Same here, double down on etb and death triggers, grab a ratadrabik and start going crazy
'And Olive Garden reservations [zoomin] Jeremy [zoomout]...' Love the oddball stuff, expertly delivered like all the rest.
Brother, your wordplay is top-fucking-NOTCH. Take all my up doots and treasure tokens as a reward!
Serfris is one of my 13 reasons I stg. Regardless, this is month 5 nearing month 6 patiently requesting Titania, Nature’s Force. Sarulf will also do if titania isn’t in the cards
Get Chupacabra'd On is probably the funniest thing you have ever said.
Skullbriar, the Walking Grave. My favorite deck because I get to make racecar drifting noises as I slam it from the command zone sideways into someone's face turn 2.
I had a skullbriar budget deck years ago and loved it
Wow they really abused the color pie on that one
@@metalhev3989 It’s a terrific edh commander. The Ozolith broke it.
Seconded for Skullbriar, that lad is F R U S T R A T I N G to remove, there's only like ~30 cards in the game that reliability disassemble him and they're all hyper-niche or useless otherwise.
@@almond5284 Cyclonic Rift isn't niche nor useless :P
As a Sefris player its always fun to watch the despair on your enemys faces when you assemble the sheoldred/it that betrays combo and let no one have anything anymore 😄
Imagine being proud to be a PoS. That goes for most the clowns in these comments.
@@aaronloiselle3651 hahhahah dont be mad just because you build bad decks 😂
I'm so glad you made one of these for the only deck I've managed to not get bored of and keep together for years now. I love this Rube Goldberg machine so much. I highly recommend playing Fleshbag Marauder tribal. It is the funniest shit in the world and makes your table very upset (my playgroup enjoys this kind of antagonism).
Lmao I need this in my life I too enjoy antagonizing my playground. My only question is how many Fleshbag Marauder type cards are there?
@@ChanceBeBoolin My list currently runs six. Four of them at 3mv and two at 4mv. I'm pretty sure there are more, though. I've been keeping a close eye on whenever a new one is printed or reprinted that I didn't see initially.
@@Horchata4lyfe do you have a deck list idk if 6 are justifiable to make a theme out of the deck but there are funny 🤣
@@Horchata4lyfe Which one aren't you playing? There's five 3mv ones (fellow Sefris enjoyer). Demon's Disciple, Fleshbag Marauder, Gravelighter, Merciless Executioner, and Plaguecrafter.
@@dantaylmao Gravelighter. Haven't updated the list in a while. I gotta add that one soon.
It feels like every single line is another gut punch of pure comedy
As a sefris player, I can confirm we skip our turn to play 3 of them on the next player's turn
This is the most spot on review I've seen. As a Sefris player my goals are typically beyond the table's understanding and often even my own. Whenever it's my turn I'm doing so much janky shit that will ultimately amount to nothing and fizzle out or will drop a nuclear bomb and there is no in-between.
Man, this is perfect. Not only do I play Sefris, but my best friend's name is Jeremy, AND one his favorite restaurants is Olive Garden. This could not hit any closer to home. Well done sir!
It me.
I will not tolerate Olive Garden disses, you're on thin ice buddy. But Sefris you can hate all day Maldhound.
I used to have a serious deck, took it apart for parts but it was pretty good. Also 53 days of wanting a Nekusar vid now. Just think, I could die tomorrow and the only thing I wanted was that video. I could die miserable. (Hopefully I don't, but you never know)
I loved sefris when she came out. I loved it with “etb venture” and clones to make it so that I would just bring the entire graveyard back every time someone “dealt with the problem” but failed to get rid of the graveyard.
In the words of my friend who had an awesome Sefris deck that could go infinite, "In response, I sacrifice a snake"
Fantastic video 😆
The energy in this one makes me want to actually request a card for once. If you haven't already, let's see "Xenagos, God of Revels" 😏
Hit me up with that Ol' Stinkfingers fit tho
It was at 0:30 that I collapsed into just as many seconds of hysterics, thank you for that incredible joke sequence and delivery.
got my hopes up for the sedris traitor king video
My group now says "oh great here comes graveyard legos" every time I pull out my sefris deck
This man has never once missed
Hey maldhound,
I’m trying to get my format some momentum
It’s a doubleton (2 copies of a card) EDH variant. I call it Idol
-Any legendary permanent can be your commander (Idol)
- 60 card minimum (you can have more then 60)
-No color identity restrictions
- 20 life starting
My goal for this format is to have the atmosphere of commander, but have the games be faster. I also don’t like dealing with 100 cards I prefer 60. Much easier shuffle and build decks.
Sometimes I would like to play more than two games of Magic when I go to my friends house
yo maldhound it was awesome seeing you at magic con
Yet another day of me asking for Feather, do it you Coward Dog!!
That Olive Garden line was personnel.
The minecraft experience farm sent me 😂😂
I lost it at reservations for Olive Garden JEREMY 😂
You see Mald, *She* ventures into the dungeon once a turn, but *other* people completing the dungeon triggers her, so with Delver's Torch, and the 2 drop deathtouch knight that ventures on every attack, you could venture into the dungeon 90% each turn, triggering her almost every turn
My Sefris deck was based around ETB infinite combos where I’d get something like Radiant Solar, Panharmonicon, Elesh Norn, or a myriad of different dudes and combine them with creatures that entered the dungeon on ETB to make infinite combos and drain my opponents out by infinitely going into the dungeon. Terrible times we’re had.
this is exactly how i made my Sefris but i also added the initiative cards and the double room effect guy so i could also then look at the top 20 cards of my deck for the next 10 minutes
@@own492 oh absolutely. The best is when you barely don’t have enough to infinite so you have to physically play it out for a thirty minute turn until you finally find the fourth piece that completes your convoluted combo and everyone immediately starts scooping up their shit and sigh in relief.
The dungeon mechanic sounded awesome at first but then I realized I am bad at making decisions in a timely manner so I just pick one at the beginning of a game in secret instead. It's usually Tomb of Annihilation, I think it's cool sounding.
Also I wish I could make Bahamut work, I know Tiamat can because I watched someone summon Fizban's Treasury at all once on turn five
I'm still excited to possibly see daddy Markov one day! (Or any more vampire commanders, loved elenda)
Funny man is right. Dungeon crawling in Magic is very time consuming. Funny man also got pretty horned up at the end. Respect.
Hi, love ur roasts, so accurate. Also, 3rd try asking for Meren of Clan Nel Toth
Hello.
Inalla, Archmage Ritualist.
That is all. Ty for being a gem in the community, Mald :)
i quote so many things you say in your videos its so good
I once again politely ask that you help me past my trauma by roasting the old-school boogie man of Jhoira of the Ghitu.
Absolutely! This is my favorite deck and I need to get a button to press that says “at your upkeep” to save my breath
Kresh, the Blood Braided. Need my first commander done at some point.
The CALLOUTS. My GOD the CALLOUTS. YES.
Next time Jeremy plays Sefris, hes sitting at Olive Garden by himself with his one shot campaign
Funniest thing about that, saying sheoldred, holds up to every version of her
Another really good esper commander is hey get this! Sen triplets! Whens that roast?
As a Sefris player, I can 100% confirm that I just want to play Graveyard legos and win via collateral damage.
Sefris: Let me tell you a story that’s gonna take about three hours.
Waiting for a some feather the redeemed roasting here. Lolol
I literally just played Sefris last night for the first time, and this is WAY too accurate. LOL.
Tbf my favorite card is literally condescend specifically so i can look someone dead in the eye and be like "that means im talking down to you"
This commander precon deck has to be one of the most fun I've ever played, and I mostly like building my own commander decks.
Wait, she’s from the Party Time deck?
@@Dtoszi nope, Sefris has her own deck from AFR
Graveyard legos for some reason just hit differently
I’ve lost count of the days. Zo-Zu the punisher
people always underestimate dungeon, then Nelson Wheeler walks in and shows the true power of Dungeons and its terrifying
Sefris is actually a surprisingly potent commander. Just from the precon, all you need is a Panharmonicon for an infinite dungeon combo. Granted, it's a 4-card combo that needs Sefris on the field, but still.
I do love my sefris deck. Solar angel plus phantasmal image just runs through the dungeon
As someone who plays Kadena, I respect someone continuously interrupting everyone
Asking for a roast of my favorite baldy commander: kadeena, slinking sorcerer
Olive Garden reservations? Jeremy did you a solid there.
She nuts with initiative
Objection: my dad is bald and has never once spent 5 minutes pondering goblins practiced necromancy. That I know of.
Still waiting for a PSA on our chaotic boy, Lord of Tresserhorn
Dammit, Jeremy.
Neheb the Eternal, stealing mana by punching you in the face.
I feel called out
Bruh I'm literally eating olive garden as I watched this I feel called out
Asking again for Vega the Watcher! The control bird who likes casting spells hands-free!
This card has a lot going for it.
you sheoldred that sheoldred?
well, sheoldred.
Would love to see Tawnos, Solemn Survivor on here!
Glissa, the traitor for the next commander. The reason why grave pack was invented.
Oh god I had flashbacks of sheoldred, the apocalypse
He should roast tergrid,God of fright next. Btw love your content and it helps me with my decks
Bruh if they’re keeping you from an Olive Garden reservation they’re doing you a favor.
Please sir, may I have a Gargos roast my good sir?
and then the sefris player proceeds to spaghetti-o's all over there battle field with radiant solar, and turn that 3 hour game into a 3 hour turn
Hope you havin fun at Vegas Mr.MaldHound
See the solution to making her not fuck with other people's turns is to have her copied, and then have an infinite loop of her dying to herself so the clone's venture triggers, and she creates a paradoxical loop like two mirror polish bald heads put in front of each other with no end to their dungeons.
As a Sefris main this makes me incredibly happy. Graveyard legos for the win!
My best friend bought me the precon for my birthday the year it came out. He has come to regret his decision lmao
Well, now I have to start doing the same for my favorite commander.
Day 1 of asking for an Eight-and-a-Half-Tails.
Graveyard legos?? Sign me up!
Perrie the Pulverizer and his plethora of counters you have to put on the board
Sefris was my first cedh-adjacent deck. I feel so attacked haha
Alright, Round 12! I feel it this time! I beseech ye Roast Master General, let Mr. All Pain, More Gain, Greven, Predator Captain step up to the plate!
gosh i still love sefris♥
Jeremy has done so much to this man, but they are still friends
There's a reason I put graveyard hate in all of my decks. All of them.
As a sefris player, you got me hahahaha i do just wanna play graveyard legos.
Sheoldred and Abhorrent Overload make a fun combo. Sheoldred and Gary the ass felt merchant guy is fun too
This video just made me want to build Sethis because apparently she's not just jank combo 😅
Giving it another shot: can we get my boy Smeagol, Helpful Guide next up?
