@@fozzy8714 100% small light cars everyday, used to have a mk6 fez only a 1.2 but red lined it everywhere, had it lowered and with the st wheels, made it a really fun car.

Many many years ago when I was a very young man I bought a four year old MG Metro Turbo absolutely loved it drove from A to B as quick as I could every trip even if I was just popping out to get a paper ,this little car took me back I’d forgotten how much I loved that car.wrote it off but you live and learn. Back in the day you could thrash a car...really wring its neck. It helped you learn how to stay on the road. But if you do that in modern performance cars you'll get the jail.

I've had a lot of cars back in the day. High powered cosworth, mr2 turbos , porsche etc. But my first 1.6 205 gti had special place in my heart. Drivable hot hatches are special

Instead of upgrading the turbo I would give this lovely car 2 bucket seats. Power is enough.

Congratulations! The car that I love! Here in Brazil we don't have the GTI, but we have the TSI, with the almost same engine. Believe it or not, some of them generate around 300 hp from this little 1.0 liter!!! And I'm talking about street legal, not only for competition...
Sick car, i'd of loved one of these but too new for me and for the price i think their expensive for what you get, i got an older mk7 golf r instead, but i still think even now this would be really fun without breaking the limits unlike my current choice.....
Grew up with a saxo. Loved it. Wasn’t the quickest but the cornering was awesome. Learned a lot driving that car as long as I did
175 hp is alot of power and super impressive for the engine size

in marts i bought my first car ever. A UP GTI, and i love it. so seeing this video with the mods i look for is amazing. i want the same mods, but a Scorpion exhaust insted. cant wait to my IP GTI gets as nice as yours.
But as stock i actually thinks its quick enough on the motorway, but i lack the lowdown torque. also as you mention, i would really like some better breakes.

I wish Volkswagen decided to market the UP! GTI here.. It is a bloody shame, because I already lived the JDM life with a 180sx during my 20s now I want to live that UK boy racer style where you are just cruising the towns. The lines and curves on this car is eye catching too.. My Up! Catches way more looks than my 180sx ever did.

Reminds me of the days of my R5 turbo which had similar power to this and weighed about 850kgs. So much fun. I've had loads of more powerful cars but I miss that little 5 the most. This little thing looks great

Man… i dont even want a golf gti lol. I want a car thats cheap to own and gives great gas milage.. and when i want to have fun ill hit some twisty mountainroads where i live. No need for 250hp+ there.

I like this little monster. I wish i never got rid of my vw corrado !!!!! At the moment i own GTR I did midpipe and tune and wheels , suspension...and i enjoy my stock ass GT-R . Not even rushing to mod it.
A nice exhaust system is all you really need to do in a GTR
@@WaseemKhan-iu4bh agreed. I got midpipe but thinking to add straight pipe catback. As i hate drone. And there will be drone if i go with aftermarket downpipes. Can't stand the smell.

Always thought the VW UP! GTI was a bit like the GR Yaris of the 1.0 3 cylinders in some way in that everyone seem to only think of them and not the Ford equivslent, personally had a 140 Fiesta for 3 years and didn't get to drive it a huge amount because I had uni full-time and commuted by train but even 140 in like a 1300 kilo car felt quick to me. Probably will get something quicker next but maybe any more than 250 is just overkill unless you're doing long straights

i had a toyota starlet ep82 with a 1.3L and it was fast with easy mods .Light cars don't need much to get going that's for sure !

VW UP Gti - Shes a little ripper mate!
Looks like a fun little car
i've got a vw lupo 1.4, its on coil-overs and its a bit low but it doesn't scrape at all, handles like a go-kart, but it needs a new engine, gonna get another of the same engine but ill get the head ported, bigger throttle body, bigger injectors, cams, intake and exhaust and it should be around 140bhp if its done right, it only weighs 870kg so it should be pretty nippy

The up gti definitely has the looks and a tidy little package. But if you want the same performance at a fraction of the price then look at a fabia se. Same 1.0tsi powerplant.
