It's soft, not because it's high, but because bits soft, what you really need is some team dynamics pro race 1.2 16' wheels with AR-1 205/45/16 and Bilstein B12 Kit. Track car on the street in that spec.
Got some suspension on order, wheels coming shortly but wasn’t willing to drop below the factory 17” … although I do think chunky tyres would be a good look 👀
@@matimcfetridge the more side wall, especially on proper track tyres the more compliance, its also less likely to snap and lose grip if you have a very low or stiff car
I think you must be mistaken. I had Bilstein B14 fitted to my UP GTI by Demon Tweeks and not B12 as stated. I also fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 205/40/17, being far superior to the original tyres. They’ve eliminated the awful wheel spin on dusty uphill gradients.
@@matimcfetridge I like yours dude white was my second choice but besides that I can not find fault with it oh other than more support in the seats I have seen the miltek ones but its a lot of money for some seats that don't work with the dash buttons
I've blitzed through the UP series, in the first one you had some issues with fast flickering indicators after fitting the LEDs. This issue still happening? If not what was the fix :)
These got swiftly changed to Philips silver vision mate, you can fix it by chopping into the wires and putting can bus resisters in but I didnt fancy doing that 😂
Great car I have a five door in white my only complaint was the stereo system. I have a sweet install from Cambridge car audio. So so so so loud. I have some plans this year for some more speed also looking at wheels. Love your videos 👍
As I’ve already mentioned, try Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 5 205/40/17. They retain the original 40 but the extra width adds to stability and as a bonus, you’re less likely to damage the alloys, because of this extra width.
I know what I’m about to ask concerns the Up range as a whole rather than the GTI, but why doesn’t VW offer the Up in R-Line specification in the UK like they do in other markets?
How do you find this compared to the MK5 Golf GTI? I think the one you're working on now is an Edition 30 and I've seen it in my search results / recommended but not watched the series yet. MK5 GTI is something I could probably finance myself but a UP GTI is something a bit more difficult if I want to own it at the end but parents probably wouldn't mind helping if I got something newer as they're not sure about older cars. I just think the Up looks way too small but I haven't been in one in person yet :D I like smaller cars though like the fiesta and polo
Just sold my MK5 GTI for an Up GTI. They are comparable. The biggest thing is that the MK5 was costing too much to keep on the road, they are old now which means all suspension components are likely worn and the bills/ repairs will keep coming. The Up has a way worse ride and the big issue I have is the suspension bottoming out over big bumps. They can’t handle potholes and will blow tyres on standard rims, that aside such fun to drive and not much slower at all. Tax and fuel costs way cheaper.

Very informative and honest ...great stuff..keep it up !
Thanks for watching!
That Spar truck loves your gti as well!

You can turn stop start off, top button left hand side on dash.
First thing I do when I get in the car 😂
I have a black one i have had it 6 months and I still love it every time I drive it its awesome

New wheels are also on the horizon here! Would be interested in some audio upgrades, certainly lacking a little bass

How do you find the headlights? Any good on dark country roads? I find mine a bit lacking, especially on dipped beam
I changed the high beams to Osram Nightbreakers. Much much better

How is the UP in terms of maintenance and fun factor?
Unbelievable, so cheap to maintain and fun factor is 10/10. One of the best cars I have driven
