The 2 wall paper choices you showed are both romantic and I like them. I prefer the first because it is a little brighter and less moody. Your choices have all been lovely. I am hoping you can do a few very short videos while you are at home with David and your mum. They don't need to be long just an update on how you are faring. I think we have become a bit attached to you and think of you as a friend. Be safe and have a stress free trip.

I do know what you’re thinking but believe it or not, our home was part of a very large Palazzo centuries ago and many homes here are full of interior murals, frescoes and painted walls and doors. It’s more common that you think. Only the ground floors (cantina) were left rough walled because of the animals. I’ve been into so many neighbours houses here that are full of wonderful frescoes and painted walls. It was a Medici village so it was extremely wealthy and important in ancient times, surrounded by noble farms and large villas. Therefore, I am actually following the ageless traditions of painted walls but cheating by having hand designed papers. I hope that clarifies my vision a little better for you. May I suggest you get checked for osteoporosis. I had a compression fracture of my spine in 2011. I gave myself 3 months off anything strenuous. My Dr treats me every 6 months with an injection. I went back to pilates and yoga and now have no ongoing issues. All the best, a painful problem.

That's interesting that you've been a gut consultant. We're also very focused on healthy eating, organic, no added sugars, low carbs, a diversity of whole foods, fruits, vegetables etc. Today we had a fantastic shop at the market garden cooperative in Bergamo. We also fast regularly. As a result our gut biome is in top shape and we are on no medications. As you know the choice of food here in Italy is just wonderful for healthy eating. @@rowandowland1391 oh that’s wonderful Rowan! Honestly we couldn’t be more blessed here as everything is organic on our area. The entire commune of Chianni is basically organic and our shops supply zero km foods! Our baker grows organic grain and make their breads from it so even that is amazing! I eat only locally grown and ex even the poultry and meat is from neighbouring farms! It’s a foodie paradise! The vineyards are also mostly organic! The painkillers and stress have played havoc with me this year but now that I’m not taking them and the treatments are working, I feel I’m back on track again! We used to travel from Melbourne over here to Italy every 6 months for 8 weeks at a time before moving here permanently and it always felt a little strange heading back to Australia. Lovely Marisa; again a beautiful video. You asked for your sleeping room: I am honest to you: I am not a fan of wallpaper; and I think that doesn't match with this house. If you like the colours of olives, why not painting the back wall or all walls there in a dark olive green or olive green+grey - till the upper end of the doors or the window? For myself I would take a darker warm brown or a dark blue (dark blue with a little of dark grey). But the colour should also match your terrazzo (?) - maybe a dark wine red? The cantina will be beautiful - maybe I will be listed to rent in sep./oct., when its not so hot!? (Unless I find my own Italian home). Marisa, I can also feel your sadness at leaving this cozy nest, your friends, your family (ciao Lorenzo 🙋🏼♀️), the lovely Chianni; but please don't cry, about 7 month pass quickly. I would be delighted to meet David and you in person next year - a lot of coffees or meals with bottels of wine (😉) I will spent to you. Are you sure it's a compound fracture and not a compression fracture? Compound fractures are extremely rare in the spine, are very serious, and require immediate surgery. Generally, compound fractures are associated with a break in the skin. However, compression fractures are much more common, especially in menopausal women or people with low bone density. Sorry, not doubting you, but this is the doctor in me talking and I cannot believe that someone with a quadruple compound fracture in the spine can even walk. I think you misspoke. Compression fractures especially if you have 4 levels (quadruple), are very very painful. If in the mid or lower back, a back brace would give you some relief. In any case, hope you good health. P.S. Both wallpapers prints look very large and expansive but the size of room is not, you would not the same affect as the photos you showed as you wouldn't be able to fit as many panels across the back wall. Look for paper with a small print that would fit, take the measurements of the room with you and hopefully someone from the paint/ wallpaper store could help you.
Ciao Shari! The wallpapers are customer made to actually fit and suite the size of the walls, so I think we can take the risk and try! As I always say to David, if it doesn’t work after a year of living with it, we can always change it. The 2 wall paper choices you showed are both romantic and I like them. I prefer the first because it is a little brighter and less moody. Your choices have all been lovely. I am hoping you can do a few very short videos while you are at home with David and your mum. They don't need to be long just an update on how you are faring. I do know what you’re thinking but believe it or not, our home was part of a very large Palazzo centuries ago and many homes here are full of interior murals, frescoes and painted walls and doors. It’s more common that you think.
Only the ground floors (cantina) were left rough walled because of the animals. I’ve been into so many neighbours houses here that are full of wonderful frescoes and painted walls. It was a Medici village so it was extremely wealthy and important in ancient times, surrounded by noble farms and large villas.
Therefore, I am actually following the ageless traditions of painted walls but cheating by having hand designed papers.
I hope that clarifies my vision a little better for you.

May I suggest you get checked for osteoporosis. I had a compression fracture of my spine in 2011. I gave myself 3 months off anything strenuous. My Dr treats me every 6 months with an injection. I went back to pilates and yoga and now have no ongoing issues. All the best, a painful problem.

If you go back you’ll find it. I take very advanced collagen tablets to rebuild the bone and they seem to working wonders.

That's interesting that you've been a gut consultant. We're also very focused on healthy eating, organic, no added sugars, low carbs, a diversity of whole foods, fruits, vegetables etc. Today we had a fantastic shop at the market garden cooperative in Bergamo. We also fast regularly. As a result our gut biome is in top shape and we are on no medications. As you know the choice of food here in Italy is just wonderful for healthy eating. @@rowandowland1391 oh that’s wonderful Rowan! Honestly we couldn’t be more blessed here as everything is organic on our area. The entire commune of Chianni is basically organic and our shops supply zero km foods! Our baker grows organic grain and make their breads from it so even that is amazing!
I eat only locally grown and ex even the poultry and meat is from neighbouring farms!
It’s a foodie paradise! The vineyards are also mostly organic! The painkillers and stress have played havoc with me this year but now that I’m not taking them and the treatments are working, I feel I’m back on track again! @@talesfromtuscany It sounds wonderful. We need to visit your area sometime. It must feel strange returning to Sydney and living in two different worlds. My brother does it as well. We used to travel from Melbourne over here to Italy every 6 months for 8 weeks at a time before moving here permanently and it always felt a little strange heading back to Australia. We've been looking at those types of wallpaper. They can make a room and wallpapering is therapeutic, like painting (at least for me). I'm also wondering if we should restore our 2 front doors rather than replace (quoted €2550). Will decide when we come over.

Lovely Marisa; again a beautiful video. You asked for your sleeping room: I am honest to you: I am not a fan of wallpaper; and I think that doesn't match with this house. If you like the colours of olives, why not painting the back wall or all walls there in a dark olive green or olive green+grey - till the upper end of the doors or the window? For myself I would take a darker warm brown or a dark blue (dark blue with a little of dark grey). But the colour should also match your terrazzo (?) - maybe a dark wine red?
The cantina will be beautiful - maybe I will be listed to rent in sep./oct., when its not so hot!? (Unless I find my own Italian home).
Marisa, I can also feel your sadness at leaving this cozy nest, your friends, your family (ciao Lorenzo 🙋🏼♀️), the lovely Chianni; but please don't cry, about 7 month pass quickly.

Are you sure it's a compound fracture and not a compression fracture? Compound fractures are extremely rare in the spine, are very serious, and require immediate surgery. Generally, compound fractures are associated with a break in the skin. However, compression fractures are much more common, especially in menopausal women or people with low bone density. Sorry, not doubting you, but this is the doctor in me talking and I cannot believe that someone with a quadruple compound fracture in the spine can even walk. I think you misspoke. Compression fractures especially if you have 4 levels (quadruple), are very very painful. If in the mid or lower back, a back brace would give you some relief. In any case, hope you good health. P.S. Both wallpapers prints look very large and expansive but the size of room is not, you would not the same affect as the photos you showed as you wouldn't be able to fit as many panels across the back wall. Look for paper with a small print that would fit, take the measurements of the room with you and hopefully someone from the paint/ wallpaper store could help you.
Ciao Shari! The wallpapers are customer made to actually fit and suite the size of the walls, so I think we can take the risk and try! As I always say to David, if it doesn’t work after a year of living with it, we can always change it.
I totally see what you’re saying and if they weren’t customer made I think that would be an issue.
