- Specsavers latest TV commercial, advertising 30% off for over 60s, is officially the most exhilarating and thrilling the company has ever made.
Set on Blackpools dizzying Infusion rollercoaster ride, it features a stalwart pair of pensioners, who inadvertently sit down on the ride for a rest. Clamped into their seats, they are whisked away on what is reckoned to be one of the fastest and most tortuous rides in the country. They shouldve gone to Specsavers, the ad concludes.
Allegedly actors Hugh Futchor and Patricia England, both in their 70s, upstaged and out-rode dozens of youngsters, and walked away with a big smile on their faces. But did they really ride the notorious twister? No over 70s were harmed in the making of this commercial was all we could get out of Specsavers Creative Director Graham Daldry.
The ad was filmed by well known American commercials Director Mike Bigelow, who came over from LA especially to shoot for Specsavers. It was written by Specsavers in house creative team, and produced by Transparent Productions.

For the record, it was infusion, Blackpool and I doubled for the actor Hugh Futcher. Great 3 days filming

I met Hugh Futcher recently at an event, hes in great shape and they originally said at the end 'Can we go back to London it's f*cking freezing in Blackpool' xDD

I’ve literally been on that ride 10 times straight, it was so quiet I ended up being allowed to stay on

there is a difference between nemesis and infusion one thing nemesis is a four seater car and its made by intamin and infusion is a two seater car made by vekoma. Which is the better ride out the two its Infusion being the only suspended rollercoaster in the uk built over water
