This video is about Hot Shots Secret What I Run In My Cummins
2017 F350 here. I run edt plus extra LX4. 438k miles. All pulling a 40 ft goose.
They make the best products in my eyes. Use my coupon code cm73 hopefully I can save you some money!
Just finished up a 3900 mile road trip and used my new recipe of using 1oz EDT every fill up and adding Lucas upper engine lubricant every other fill up along with the EDT. Got great MPG in my "Mini Max"(3.0 Duramax) and the engine ran super smooth. So quiet that I thought it was off from 5 feet away! Love the EDT and also use the Extreme at every oil change to keep things cleaned up.
That’s Awesome!!!
Project farm did a shoot out. Hot shots did really well.
Thats Right thank you...
@@ChadMyers73 you're welcome dude!
Huh? From what I saw it ain't standing up to their claims
@@repentandfollowjesuschrist6170 all I can say is that in the shoot out it did really well. I've never had a problem with it as well.
I have a Cummings ISX15 2017 440,000 miles. I use Diesel extreme, Stiction and EDT. No issues with DEF system and no oil consumption. I use Rotella full Synthetic.
Hot shots is good stuff!
A Cummings huh ... it says Cummings on the motor ? Or cummins ... there no G in it
Can't over treat, so would a gallon of stiction and 2 gallons of oil be fine in a system that calls for 3 gallons oil?
Did you end up doing it ? Ive done it on a 2003 1.9 vw diesel and it seemed fine.
Question will this stiction eliminator additive help clean the back of valves on direct injection gas engine by going through the pcv system? Thanks
Not sure on that 1 but I have sent the ? Off to HSS to try and get a answer
What exactly are the benefits by putting this stuff in my fuel? First time diesel owner here by the way :)
As far as fuel treatment these fuels are very abrasive since he dropped the cetane and also has a lot of moisture in it. With running to EDT you improve your lubricity you boost your cetane and also has a moisture dispersant
@@douganderson7002 on an emissions diesel truck, the bio diesel is horrible. Even if Ford or whoever says they are B20 compatible, the emissions systems clog up faster and your truck will be doing more often regens
Yea, the process that diesel goes thru now (ultra low sulfur diesel) to make it more environmental PC, strips away the lubricating properties and also the standards of which it's done will reduce cetane levels
Is Docs Diesel a partnership with Hot Shots? Same company under different label perhaps?
I’m not sure on the one I saw the HSS logo on the Docs box as well
What is the best product for lubricant for the vp 44 I all ready wrecked one pump
I use edt in every fill up in the summer and then winter edt in the winter months
2 stroke oil.
DAM GOOD STUFF THE BEST IVE SEEN
YES IT IS! I have had the best luck with their products.
You haven't used Opti-Lube then.
Will it clean the turbo on a 15L isx cummins
If you run the sticks and illuminator in the oil is going to clean the entire oil system of the stiction. Do you have the option also running their oil which would be a plus. And they also offer in oil bypass filtration called the Franz filter. Hope this helps thanks for watching! If you decide to place an order don’t forget to use my coupon code cm73 to save yourself 10%
The EDT has the LX4 additive already in it. Any harm in adding LX4 separately after adding the EDT? Also, can you add LX4 to the Anti-Gel?
No it will not hurt anything to over treat
LX4?
@@sirsweetness8332 yes, LX4. I corrected it. Thanks.
@@DontComeToMyHouse
You were thinking of your found on road dead F250 🤪. FX4
The last product you had in your hand but didn’t talk about what’s it for?
I think that is what they are now calling lx4
@@ChadMyers73 is the lx4 in EST now?
Yes
@@ChadMyers73 Thanks for the reply with all these options my head was spinning LOL
Absolutely don’t forget to use my coupon code
I'm confused. I bought a big hug, it says for initial use, if you're 11-20 quarts to use the full 64 ounces. Does that sound right? I'm supposed to dump this whole giant jug in with an oil change since I hold 12 quarts?
There is 32oz in a qt so if your truck holds 12 put 10 in and the 64oz jug. You do not want to over fill.
@@ChadMyers73 right, I'm just trying to make sure I'm supposed to dump this big ass jug in there lol. That seems like a lot to me.
It does not hurt over treat yes I used the whole 64 ounces
@@ChadMyers73 my ford holds 15qts so would the 2qt treat it?
Can you add the stiction eliminator to any oil or do you have to run their oil with it
Yes you can use it in any oil
I have a 97’ dodge Cummins and as far as I know it has always had conventional engine oil ran in it, and it’s at 203k miles. I’m considering switching to a synthetic oil what are your thoughts as far as myths such as it will cause leaks (I already have some leaks haha) and is it worth the switch as far as performance?
@@coltonhall6671 I have had nothing but good luck with it. I think its just that myths...
I just had my 08 6.4 Powerstroke deleted. Deleted both dpf and egr. Put all brand new OEM Ford fuel injectors, glow plugs, replaced all rocker arms with new OEM Ford rocker arms and 100hp custom tune with SCT X4 tuner. After about 200 miles my truck is blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. It smells like diesel fuel. No coolant smell at all. Also did a CCV mod. Which products are best for blowby?
Use some diesel extreme and also do a oil change and add some stiction eliminator
With your 2nd Gen Cummins, you really should be using an oil with Zinc. Pre '07 diesels need Zinc. I use the Cat DEO, Lucas now makes an oil with Zinc. Valvoline used to make the "Classic Blue" oil for older trucks, but stopped making it. Just my $0.02
HotShots Black Diamond 15w40 has a high level of zinc. Delo 400 SDE 15w40 has probably the highest ZDDP in PPM then probably any mainstream off the shelf diesel oil.
Opti-Lube additives. Nothing better!
No sir I have not used any of their products.
You need a wireless clip on mic
👍
What’s your treatment dosage with the anti gel?
I run 4oz in every tank full.
I bought most of these product and I’ve seen absolutely no improvement in mpg nothing. I think it expensive snake oil.
Opinions
My opinion... Older engines with more build up ....carbon/varnish will see more improvement.iv seen it on my 2003 f250 .newer engines with less build up will not see as much of an improvement. But it will keep things tickaty boo . People who do oil changes with higher end oils will not notice much difference because these additives are already in there. Cleaning and lubing like they're supposed to. As far as the fuel additives are concerned EDT and lx4 are worth the insurance factor because you know fuel companies are cheaping out and fuel is breaking down the day it is refined. I for one will pay the two Bux a tank extra to lube my fuel pump and injectors just in case things are not up to snuff at the pump.iv known several people who have had pumps fail and more than a few people getting bad fuel economy from injectors worn before there time. Keep those trucks rolling!
you tried archoil
No sir.
I have for years. Swear by it. However, I believe I’m going to give Hot Shots a go to see how it goes…heard nothing but good things..
@@jasongriffin1127how did HotShots do for you ?
You need to improve your microphone I can't under stand a word you are saying. You sound like you are talking in the grand canyon. I use Hot shot too. The FR3 is great.
👍👍 don’t forget to use my code and save yourself some money
That don't make no difference in nothing money grab
Bla, bla, bla not any test done.
HHS extensively tester products. Along with firepunk on their Dyno
Hmm ok, I need to re-watch from beginning without skipping then.
Follow who on Facebook?
Hot shot secret
The friction reducer specifically says not to be used with stiction eliminator or any other additive right on the bottle. Why is it ok to use their oil that already has friction modifier in it with stiction eliminator?
Why is a person with an opinion wearing a hoodie and have a banner in the background? Nice advertisement
Thanks but this is a video explaining what I use in my truck
I got the 4 oz EDT treatment by hot shots. Do i pour the whole bottle in on a full tank or just half
Its really up to you. I run 4oz for every fill up.
@@ChadMyers73 is there a noticeable difference running 4oz vs the 2 or 1?
This just sounds like an infomercial.
Why don't you make a video that isn't a infomercial.
That's RUclips these days.
I put hotshot edt in my 2022 duramax a week ago. Doing the same driving style and just going to work as before… I’m getting .7 mpg better. Whether it cleans the injectors and all they claim it’s paying for itself!
Awesome man I’m glad it’s working out for you!
I have a 01 2nd gen . I’ve been running the royal purple Duralec 15w40.
I’m just learning about the hot shot products. Would like to know your opinion between the oil I use and the hot shot oil.
I have not heard good or bad about the purple. What do know about HHS is that they test their products extensively Along with fire punk doing Dyno testing. And can’t go wrong with a 10% discount when you use CM73 at checkout
I’m buying my first diesel and it’s a 2021 eco diesel with 50K miles on it. I do know it’s had regular oil changes but no additives. What would you suggest a newbie like myself do after I get it?
A oil change with some stiction, eliminator and some diesel extreme. Don’t forget my coupon code for a 10% discount every time you make a purchase.
Watch project pharm test pot shots... not worth it
Can I mix different adictives together? For example I'm a huge fan of marvel mystery oil. Could I add like 6oz of that with 6oz of secret diesel extreme?
I probably would do in a glass or something 1st just to make sure there isn’t some kind of chemical reaction
Talk to much
I’m looking to try their products in my VW TDI Passat but idk how well they work for a turbo diesel car… anybody have input?
Same principal just a smaller version of my truck. If I remember correctly they are labeled for Volkswagen now as well
@@ChadMyers73 appreciate it! Placed my order should be here this week
So where’s the proof that this stuff works?
Dyno testing at Firepunk Diesel.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for watching!
Not impressed with hotshot winter anti gel. Gelled up in both bottle that was in the garage. Anyone else have this problem? I’m from western ny wasn’t a cold winter last year the coldest was -5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Found this on Hot Shots website: Diesel Winter Anti-Gel will freeze in low temperatures as the plain product. Once added to diesel a chemical process happens that protects fuel to -65° F. We recommend adding while the product is above 20° F.
I used the Stiction after 50k miles on my Ram Ecodeisel to clean it out. Changed the oil after 10k miles, which created a rear main seal and a valve cover leak. My guess, it cleaned out the crud that was covering the issue. Took it to the dealer, who covered the leaks under warranty! Looks like I timed it perfectly (totally by accident). Anyway, my advice is to use it just before your warranty is up so it can clean it out and expose any issues. Thank you! Not sure id use it now that my truck is out of warranty. The crud is sealing my motor.
Yeah sounds like you use it just in the nick of time. Thanks for watching!
It doesn't work like that. No amount of crude stops oil from leaking.
difference between amsoil and hotshotsecret? amsoil has data for every product and how it performs comparing to competitors, something hotshotsecret cannot provide. hotshotsecret is not bad product, they do work, its just no one knows how much they are better than competitors. good info, keep up good work.
Thanks for watching! I’ll see what I can do to get you some of that info.
Hmmm... have you not been to Hot Shot's Secret website? They show comparisons all the time against competitors. Even talk about them on their live shows. I went to Amsoils website, but cant find any comparison to any other competitors.
I can't choose between amsoil engine oil or hotshotsecret
Not a true statement
Do you pour in the fuel tank and then fill up with fuel? Or do you fill up with fuel and then add hot shots??
I put them in 1st that way I can wash it down the neck with fuel. If I use a oil additive I put it in in the middle. Thanks for watching and don’t forget about my coupon code cm73 for a discount at Hot Shots Secret...
Thanks!!
