Hey there, I just watched your great video and was wondering if you have a how-to video on installing the outboard steering kit? I have a 5HP Suzuki motor and was wondering if it would be compatible with the kit. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hey bud, I'm glad everything worked out. Followed you when you were in the Pool, lol. But know you're a big guy, but jonny fits you perfect. I'm the opposite. I probably have a minimum of $5,000 into my jonny, in orange. I always said I wanted a 21 ft bayliner or a 12 ft small job boat. After I purchased jonny, the add-on's were addicting. I have just the fixed pod, and my Suzuki 2.5. This is my 1st season, waited about 9 months for mine. Still doing my addon's. I'm 5ft 7" 153 lbs. I have a heart condition, so I meeded the trolling pod, my Suzuki, and course my paddle. My jonny has hit 11.8 mph. Probably because I'm light, just have 4 rods, 4 plano's, diy my little wheel cart. Overall wouldn't trade it for anything!! Be safe god bless.🤟🙏🎣
I'm 260 @ 5'11",I put a 45 lb thrust Minn Kota with a 36 in shaft on mine, battery in the back, with the seat @ midway.plenty of room and no issues.I also bought the Haulmaster folding trailer from Harbor Freight to haul it . I've been needing a utility trailer anyway. I'm going to follow your shenanigans as they unfold...
Thank you for another informative video. There's talk of Johnny Bass coming out with a 12 foot that can handle up to a 6 hp outboard. If they give us at least an extra 10" in width that swivel seat will would in handy.
Pat Niccolai one of the things I love is that it is super small. I love kayaking. 12’ with 10 more in width and I wouldn’t have sold my last rig for this one. Although it would be comfy!!!
@@road2therunway You said and I got the Suzuki 2.5 then you pointed back there. I thought you had a Grand Vitara 4x4. And I was like yeah I want one of those too. Lol
@@road2therunway about the jonny boat? you still like it? when you're boating with the jonny boat and with engine, does the transom plate bend when you're full throttle?
@@ZampostOk as far as Jonny goes no flex in the transom that I could ever notice. Of course I had the Motor mount plate on there as well. The transom is really beefy and may even have some metal framing under inside the hull. Not sure. I love it and used it often, unfortunately we just bought a new house and had to sell it due to lack of Space. I just had too many toys 😬😬
Parker Sutton I think there’s always water in and out of that area with me on it. Doesn’t really affect anything unless you plan to use that space for a crate, then you may want to rethink. I’ve been using the Plano Vcrate back there and it’s perfect because the bottom is all sealed. Thanks for watching!!
Andre Williams 769 brand new from www.suzukioutboardteam.com. Took 4 days to ship cross country. Free shipping. Motor kit took about 30 mins to install. Super easy!
Rivet popper the front scupper (just behind the pod) can be plugged, the drain behind the seat has a flap that will already keep the water out, and the rear tank well is open in the back so doubtful you could plug this. Anything you put in back, I would recommend being able to resist water.
Use lifewest at SEA.....once you fall in the SEA it is not your swimming skills that kills you....IT is the cold water...after a while you Get cramps or you Get exhausted and Then you eventualy drown....not Because you can not swim.....
Hey man how's it going. I love your Johnny boat. I'm thinking about purchasing one. I am a big dude myself. I am built the exactly same size as you. We would definitely pass for twins with our size. I am a little over 300 pounds & I see how the Johnny bolt fits you very well. Also like how you had plenty of leg space. I also like your slider sandals you were wearing man. I wish i could wear slider sandals but I have to wear flip-flops because sliders won't fit on my feet because I have big very very extremely wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are equally straight across making my foot very very wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. I also like how you cut your big toenail straight across. I cut my big toenail the same way straight across. That is just awesome how we do the same thing. I've been missing those good videos you been making buddy. Hopefully I can get me my Jolly boat and having setup just like yours. I want to wish you and your family a late Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. Hope you can make a video soon. Enjoy 2022.
Big John's Life thanks for the question! I prefer being in the low seat position when underway, but both are plenty comfy and stable. The footrests adjustability make all positions comfy. I usually keep the seat in the high position now because I’m using under the seat as storage. Fished for three hours standing up and down last night and felt just as comfortable standing on Jonny as I do on my 17ft tracker. Even turned around and fished back wards. There are talks of a 12’ model but I’m partial to the portability of the 10’. Lighter and can still put it in the bed of my truck. Not missing those extra two feet. Thanks for watching!
Your smile you can tell you love you boat.

Man thanks so much for watching and glad you’re enjoying Jonny!
Very interesting your video 👍
Do you recommend 15" motor short or 20" ?
The short is the proper one.
Your excitement is contagious, good stuff man. Appreciate the effort.

Awesome rig brother! I’ve been looking at these myself... also think we are from the same area... tight lines!
Hey you still have the boat + engine?
You planning on adding the trolling pod in the future ?
Tee Tao as soon as they release it. I just added the stand up bar. Steerable trolling pod and gravity seat will finish the boat :-).
How do you like the engine? Reliable?
For Sure! Always one pull start!

Armadillo Junction I’m in love man. All the stuff I love about a kayak with a lot more mobility. Can’t wait to go fishing!!!
Great video man! Was there water in the back without the motor? Or was that just when the extra motor weight was added?

Wow ! That little vessel ? is boss ! Also ," frustrated " my ass !! - respectively Sir ;)
Ronnie Patterson hahaha I have my frustrated days. And yes. Jonny Bass 100 is BADASS!
That boat was taking in water
Bobby young only in the rear tank well. There is a hole level with the floor of the rear tank well. No danger at all!
1240 lo we boat you would be much much happier
Bobby young had one for two years, much happier on my small Jonny. Lighter, and easier!
