Anyone remember when monika said “I ruined a world I wasn’t even supposed to be in, one you wanted to be a part of.” That proves this whole theory right
and in the game itself, mc said "the character really reminds me of you yuri"
and she said " we haven't gotten that far yet"

and if you stay with Monika long enough after she erases everybody, eventually she brings up the book. she says something along the lines of “Yuri’s book, whatever it’s name was, there’s actually something funny bout it..never mind, i don’t think i’m supposed to talk about it. just forget i said anything.”
Another piece of evidence: Libitina was the Roman goddess of death, funerals and burials. The most common and well known flower associated with funerals is the lily, and the Japanese word for lily is 'yuri'. Not sure if anyone else has commented on that yet, so I just wanted to leave it here.
Also, the flower from that creepy poster IS lily.

OK I think it’s pretty obvious that Yuri has already opened her third eye through torture, but what caused her to really start developing those habits of twitching, and going practically insane ,but what I find fascinating is she gives out how the kids at the camp were turned into test subjects ,but what puzzles me most is how most of the kids there had or have some part of a third eye in them and how a normal science guy found that third eye theory, so I’m kind of guessing that he has a third eye but what I’m most concerned about is how they found that camp of kids who are filled with have third eye pieces and how they found that camp, and who was running it before.

Also, he already said it in his account, rather than releasing rushed game in 2018, he rather that his time and release the final game with ease. He really want to release the game at 2018, but he decided to not do that.

I'm surprised they didn't mention the fact that in the game the player said that the main character in the Portrait of Markov reminds them of Yuri in both acts. In the first act, where Yuri is her normal self/calm, the player says its because she always seconds guesses herself and Yuri doesn't think much of it. But in the second act, where Yuri is more unhinged, she starts freaking out but then the player explains that its because she always second guesses herself and she calms down and says "I thought you meant...something else about her. Were not even that far into the book yet". I feel like this also proves this theory but that's just me 👍
There's one other thing you missed that might be interesting. During the display of the poems for the festival, Yuri suddenly becomes very proactive, even though Sayori had claimed to be the next to share her poem. The title of that poem.. is "Afterimage of a Crimson Eye". The MC describes her becoming a completely different person while telling it, and describes to poem to have 'lots of twists and turns'. Could it be that she wrote about the other game?

Game Theory, I have great news for you:
The names Libitina and Elyssa are mentioned in the book "The Portrait of Markov" read by Yuri. And apparently sisters Libitina and Elyssa. Also in episode one, Libitina says her hair is purple in her nightmare. The full sentence is:
"My face was covered in long, purple hair."
I haven't gotten to chapter two yet, but for your information, I'm writing this. I think you could make a special video for this book. And if you know what's going on in the book.. I think you can make a video again. And if you did, I didn't see it.

Another thing that can tell us that the portrait of markov is yuri’s story is when you read with yuri you make a comment that yuri is like the character in the book, and she asks why you think that in a kind of panic. I dunno, but I think that confirms it even more
DDLC is such an amazing game, and your videos about it are even more amazing!
One small detailed I noticed is that you refer to deleting Monika as the games true ending. The true ending is not just deleting Monika, it's having pursued every girl in Act 1 before doing so, which will give you the true ending and will show a thank you letter of Dan Salvato personally

I think the theory is wrong in the fact that Monika is believed to be the main character. I think Yuri (or Libitina) is the main character.
what if the xxxxxx is actually Monika real name Elyssa, who escaped from the third eye project and now grow up with the intention to stop the project. Making her the heroine for the next game. I mean you have to know the project really exist first in order to stop it, else it's just a book.

Remember, Monika talks about “remembering” in her character file so the story might be following her trying to help Yuri suppress the third eye or do it herself to save yuri and the others, like stated in the report. Just a speculation though.
So much work was put into making and soving it.

I know I’m wayyyy late to the party, but I was surprised that MatPat didn’t mention this. When you read the Portrait of Markov with Yuri, you say that the main character’s personality reminds you of Yuri. Yuri is surprised that that is the similarity you saw, saying that something else is similar between the two of them later in the book. But what else besides personality could be similar between the two of them....

I guess you noticed that too, but the these phrases all indicate indirectly the area in which the specific character gets her most disturbing part (sorry for my bad English): like, "my heart pounds" untill she stabbed herself, "inside my head" until she hanged herself, "I'm gonna tell everyone" until her texts became all censored and "I love you" until you realize her love is so obsessive and dangerous (especially for others), a "guiltyless" and "horrible" love.

Team Salvato has TBD release dates for 3 projects as of 5/11/24. When it was 2018, there wasn't even anything listed on their games besides ddlc. So.. there's that..

Watch the “2018 game” already be out, but it’s so well hidden that no one has been able to find it yet.
Actually, I remember thinking that a popular indie game around that time had a few similarities with DDLC and the two might've been connected, but I forgot what the game was and what it was that tipped me off. Either way, you might be onto something here.

That also explains in the second act why Yuri was so quick to deny the fact she related to the main character of the book when the protagonist mentioned that the main character reminded him of Yuri.

Another reason why Yuri is probably Libitina can be seen when you start reading the book with her for the second time. When the protagonist said that Yuri reminds him of the character of the book Yuri got really nervous. Then your character says that it was because she second guesses herself . She then goes on to say that she thought you meant something else about her and that this part of the story hasn't happened yet.

This actually makes sense because when you as the character say something about the main character of her book sounding like her she freaks out a little bit and disagrees with you and then you tell her that you meant the way the character acts and then she’s ok again so I’m 100% with this theory

Another thing to back this up is the fact the yuri says she feels attached to one of the characters. When the MC says the character reminds him of her, she seems to have gotten the wrong idea. I wonder if the character he was talking about is Libitina?
