  • Mounting a scope to your rifle, muzzleloader or shotgun doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. With a few simple tools you can mount your own rifle scope securely.
In this video, I’m going to show you how I mounted a Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 scope to my CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader. The steps are the same for any other rifle or scope combo.
    Happy hunting!

Nice content in your video. KISS keep it simple stupid. I use this acronym a lot . A matter of fact I'm going to be mounting a Leopold ML scope on my new CVA Scout in 35 Whelen.

Mine came with a scope on it. I ordered the Leopold ultimate slam ML 3x9x40mm scope. I wanted the bdc crosshair. I have the CVA Optima V2 50 cal LR nitride rifle. A tack driver.

What height rings did you use for the 40mm scope

I don’t know, it was the mount that came with the muzzleloader

    Would a 50mm scope fit on ?

I don’t have a cv., but from my knowledge, 50 mm will probably require higher rings than a 40mm. As the objective lens will be too close to the barrel, or will touch it depending on what height of a ring you using. Just ask a knowledgeable staff wherever you buying your rings to make sure you got the right height. Leupold has info on its website to which rings to use if you input your gun and scope size
