Hi John...im a bit of a late comer to gour channel. I bought my etrex 32x about 2 years ago. I tried using the Garmin Base Camp, found it a bit iffy. Last week i typed in the the etrex32x to try and get a better grip of it, lo and behold...up popped your good self !!! Spent an afternoon watching the tutorials on RUclips, and finally got to understand the garmin much better. Bonus is the OS Planner GPS Training provides, my confidence us now much better ( im a 67 year old and started wild camping 3 years, thanks to Paul Messner, Andy Wardle and Murray from Scotlands Mountain) now kooking forward to hitting the hikls with more confidence ( I'm quite proficient with a paper map and compass, just wanted the convenience of a hand held GPS)...cheers 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🥾🥾

Thanks John, very useful info and that’s the one I got with a 1:50.

I have just bought adapters for my iPhone and kindle fire that allows me to connect my etrex 35 to either of them , using your gps software is easier on a pc or Mac but it can be done on a tablet or phone with the adapter.

Hi just another thought if you cannot afford the OS maps then talky toaster maps are a good alternative.

I’ve got TT on my Etrex and Fenix, really impressed with the detail and find myself using it more often than not on the Etrex. The mapping is a little less cluttered that OS.

Thanks for sharing :) Does it have a service fee? Or once you buy it, you have access to GPS service?

No service fee for this or any GPS unit used for navigation. I hope this helps 🧭

I found that the 1:25 os map was too small to read on the etrex, better is the :150.

I'm the same, even on the GPSMAP 67 I find that small coming from a smart phone. GPS 3" and phone 6.7"
