    I feel like you're setting the R1700BTs as a benchmark speaker standard cause its the standard of "Good sound and good price" and the extra that you're paying for better sound beyond that point is only something you could tell if you have it side by side. I still cant tell the difference at some tracks with my eyes closed TBH.

    Can’t find any justification to pay up to four times more for the Airpulse. R1700’s sound just as good...
    I have the R1700bt speakers in one room, linked via RCA to an old cheap record player and also to my Sony TV via blue tooth v4.1. Great sound from both audio sources!
    I also have the R1855db speakers in another room linked to a CD player via a 3.5mm headphone outlet to RCA on the speakers and a TV via optical cable and a new record Sony record player via RCA link. The sound from all three sources is fantastic.
    Both sets of speakers also have the option of bluetooth (v5 in the 1855’s) for use with my iPhone or laptop if I wish.
    I have no complaints with sound whether bass minds or lows or tweeter....

      I have the r1600 and just got the A100 and i am disappointed. I think I will return the A100 because they don't really justify their price. I think it's a 10-20% increase in quality which you dont hear when you listen at regular volume levels. The high pitched sounds are played out better on the a100. But come on... 8x more for that? Should I stay with R1600, or upgrade to R1855db? I have everything hooked up to Aune X1S and both speakers do play better through that DAC, especially the A100s! They sound way better.

    • @Driver2616
      @Driver2616 2 года назад

      @@piotrpix ; I am not an audiophile nor a sound engineer expert. However, I would think that with your DAC, your 1600s will sound just as good as the 1855’s, at low volume levels.
      But when you crank up the volume you should get a better performance from the 1855’s.
      If you want even better again, then go for the R2000DB’s or the S1000MKiii’s.
      I’ve now got the S1000’s and there is a marked difference between them and the S1855’s.

    Although the R1700BTs has a noticeable dip between 1kHz and 2KHz, it doesn't seem to be suffering from serious ill effects. But why only the link to Airpulse is listed?

  • @yourtubisfilled7164
    @yourtubisfilled7164 4 года назад +6

    In frequency they don't appear to be far apart but the soundscape from the 1700BT is much wider that the 80. I think the AirPulse 100 performs much better against the 1700BT and I think only a hundred bucks more compared to the 80, now that you were spending way more anyway.

Really happy with them though. Awesome sound stage, really analytical and crisp from the mids to highs. Those horn tweeters are magical. I already augmented them with an XTZ 8.17 sub to add the frequencies you miss with any small speakers and I can really recommend those too. Perfect set-up now and all in white, it looks awesome.
