    Well, I am halting DIM after seeing this. Did not know it blocked the androgen receptors.

    What if men take dhea should they take dim? They say it's supposed to balance out the estrogen from dhea and even trt. If not what would be recommended?

    We call it PMS in the US. There's also PMDD which is the more severe version. I've never heard PMT.

    RUclips is full of "professionals" readers of other people studies & research, both for & against everything.
    I prefer doing my own research & studies in my own body, with exception of things with high warnings. With that said, I heard DIM for men can help get rid of "man boobs" due to high estrogen & been using it, off & on, for over a year or 2 now. I have a muscular man's chest now, that's still under construction, & no longer appear like I need a training bra.
    So based on my on hands on study & experiment with my own body I like the results of what I'm seeing & shall continue till I meet my goal or any blood work or medical condition arrive showing me it's causing harm.

      What's your dosage? Do you also take it with dhea? Thanks

      @🍊jay I've taken different brands usually its 1 pill a day that are 100mg to 300mg. I take DHEA as well but not consistently & can't say I've noticed any benefits from that but that could be because of the inconsistent use of it.
      I'm more into raw yolk eggs now for the choline, plus all the other minerals & cholesterol. The choline helps with fatty liver.

    Hello. First, thank you for the wonderful podcast. Second, I am a bit confused after listening to this podcast. DiM has been used in budybuilding albeit with results that differ and opinions differ also...
    If it is an antiandrogen, how come if you search the web it mentions only positive effect on test levels due to getting rid of negative estrogen?
    And if it is an antiandrogen, is it totally an antiandrogen or a selective one such as bodybuilders use to increase free test (SARMs)?
    Please let me know how to contact the guest so I can ask him this question directly also.
    Thank you!

    I’ve used DIM several times over the years because I thought it would help block aromatase (I carry a bit of fat on my chest). I would notice while using it at times I was more emotional. Makes sense now if it blocks androgen receptors as well

    • @jd5776

      Try only taking 200mg a day along with NAC, L carnatine, mega green tea. All dim does is help the liver filter toxins. Also, you must take fish oil with Dim for better absorbtion. Key note: Every body is different, there are different reasons why someone may need to balance hormones. @@jaymorrison5895

    Am I receiving indole-3-carbinol or DIM When taking Broccoli “sprout” powder? Is Broccoli powder a safer Aromatase Inhibitor than taking a DIM supplement? My intention, is to reduce estrogen and increase Testosterone as a 46 yr old Male. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    • @TheATPProject
      @TheATPProject  Год назад +3

      Thanks for reaching out, You need to be a bit careful with DIM as capsules of DIM have been found in studies to activate oestrogen receptors (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25048790/ ) Rat studies have found DIM can actually reduce testosterone and damage testies (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26926141/ ) In humans, DIM can block testosterone receptors (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12665522/ ).
      Having broccoli is a much safer way to reduce oestrogen. We hope this helps!

      @@TheATPProject Thank You! When you mentioned “Broccoli”, are you referring to I3C or Broccoli “Sprout” Powder for reducing Estrogen (Aromatase Inhibition?!)? Which is the best way to consume Broccoli or Brussel sprouts while preserving beneficial compounds? From what I understand, Myristinase from Mustard Powder, can help Sulforaphane become more Bioavailable, is this accurate?

    • @TheATPProject
      @TheATPProject  Год назад +1

      @@RobertLaTuso Another great question! Brassica species all inhibit aromatase because they contain indole 3 carbinol, which is an aromatase inhibitor. Here is a paper on that: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25612679/
      Steaming them preserves the indole 3 carbinol levels. and yes it is arrurante if you wanted to read more on the science behind this please read this paper :) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4629881/

    I was taking finasteride for hair loss and started getting gynomastia. Endocrinology said estrogen was high testosterone was about 9 in uk scale. Did psa was 4 when I stopped finasteride my psa was 13 when I googled psa 13 there is a 60% chance of cancer. Started finasteride 2 weeks later psa was 6.urology did mri said possible legions 4 did biopsy no cancer. Urology have said to continue with finasteride to keep psa down check bloods in 3 months. I asked was this serious he said no but if I want can do a biopsy next time to check. Do u think I could try taking small dose of dim about 200mg to help with gyno and help with prostate I'm 43 years old my dad had benign prostate proplems in older age. I some times think this all started when I put on 2 stone and started taking finasteride..

    Dim for estrogen dominance in men? Is dim okay to use?

    • @TheATPProject
      @TheATPProject  Год назад

      In a few words, no not for men. It can be used in certain circumstances in men, but generally it is not a great idea. We go into detail on our DIM podcast, but in a study completed on rats:
      "DIM (i) had side effect on some sperm characteristics, (ii) increased the MDA levels and (iii) led to histological degeneration of testicular tissues and apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner."
      Not a great start. Here is the study: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26926141/

    I wouldnt listen to a word these guys say. Dim doesnt have a higher bindong affinity to the androgen receptors compared with testosterone or its metabolites so no, dim wont stop testosterones action at the androgen receptors. These guys have read one part of a study and ran with it without doing further research. 🤦 Heaps of bodybuilders take dim, and they arent shrinking from it. Because it isnt blocking their androgen receptors with 100% efficacy.

      Agreed. The only studies I could find were specifically DIM blocking androgen receptors in the prostate. They said nothing about the rest of the body.
