First story it more than likely is 100% the boyfriend's fault. I have nothing else but to assume he talked about his ex excessively and obsessively to the point where his new partner decided to change herself to be like his ex because he was constantly talking about her.
This series has been a huge service to me. I try to catch every Reddit episode, but somehow these compilations have stories I've never seen before, so that's been super helpful.
"There's no 'overreacting,' it's reacting." Damien is so right. If someone tells you, "you're overreacting," after they've done something to upset you, they're invalidating your feelings and they don't have any remorse for what they did to you.
People used to say that about my brother, but his reaction literallt is drama, and I’m not saying “oh he’s just being dramatic” no I mean that just _is_ his reaction. He is the drama. He’s always the drama. There’s no “more” to that, this is straight up just what his reactions look like. He can’t have an “overreaction” because every reaction is drama.
@@teritt Yeah, if his reaction is ALWAYS dramatic, then that's not just "overreacting" that's just being dramatic for the sake of being dramatic. Most "overractions" aren't typical for the person "overracting." But people who react like your brother are the reason why so many people say, "you're overracting."
@@kittyk8345 Nah I know he’s not to blame because people who say that are legit just emotional abusers trying to undermine emotions to make up for their own lack of ownership for their actions Meanwhile my brother despite always being at a 10, ends up emotionally mature to own up to his actions Though to be completely fair, we’re all pretty sure my brother is just autistic
overreactimg is possible. screaming cause a kid dropped something is overeacting, teachers getting pissed because of students coughing or sneezing is overreacting etc
For the third story, that’s not even pranks. My grandpa pranks people a lot, and here are some of his favorites: slowly replacing photos in the house with something you’d never have a picture of (celebrities, funny photoshops), half folding sheets so when you stick your feet in bed at night you can’t fully extend your legs, and adding a single olive in foods that don’t go with olives. THOSE are pranks, they’re funny, strange, and good stories, what that man is doing is literal torture.
@@michaelhoerr2468 Perhaps you ought to watch the video again. I will give you the timestamp too (26:24 ; "he later messaged me and said all his workmates thought it was hilarious"). You FEEL "there's a good chance that he's just SAYING they think that". They think that because HE told them unless his workmates are clairvoyants or mind-readers. What was the purpose of your statement? Was it to give somebody who acted with depraved indifference to his wife's suffering the benefit of the doubt?
Came here to comment this lol my ex and I had one to keep our dogs out of the back hallway and, oddly enough, we also had a shadow entity that mimicked my ex and his brother 🫠 maybe baby gates are doorways to the ghost dimension 😂
Ah we had to get a baby gate for our stairs bc our new puppy kept trying to climb up the steps and falling behind them and getting stuck 😅 You would be in the living room, hear a scuffle and then yapping and get up to see a tiny yellow labrador puppy stuck under the stairs 🥰
It's always the cat food haha. My cattle dog is perfect. Like I could leave a hamburger in front of her and she won't touch it. What's funny is she protects my food from my cats because they don't have the self control..but a can of cat food? She cannot resist the temptation of the cat food. She has a area she hides the evidence..lol
There was actually an update for the first story. The OP confronted Bailey and it turns out she started looking up his ex out of curiosity, but over time it became more pathological and she became addicted to it. She said she wanted to "please him" but didn't know who she was so she latched onto his ex because she "had him first." She started treating finding out new info about his ex like a "game" and got incredibly excited whenever she did. She made fake social media accounts and eventually weaselled her way into his ex's life through mutual friends. Both he and his wife are in therapy now and also do couples counselling. She deleted the folder in front of him and the mimicking is slowly beginning to stop.
Thanks for this. Also wanted to add, though I'm not condoning her actions, it seems like, on the wife's side, he may be leaving out times when he was talking a lot about the ex in a positive fashion. Like, unnecessarily. Because most women, even those with major issues don't do this for no "logical reason." It really sounds like he had more to contribute to her behaviour than he's either letting on, or even knows himself...
@@GeekishChic75 but didnt the husband say that their relationship was toxic and the ex made him miserable? So why would he say anything in a positive fashion?
She said she wanted to please him but didn't know who she was?? But they're already together when she searched for the ex, he clearly liked THAT Bailey
@@betatest5789 Unfortunately, even after getting out of a toxic relationship, you can still find yourself making excuses for them or returning back to habits of trying to mention or think about all the good, to convince yourself and others in your life how great and normal it is, especially in abusive relationships were you yourself was made to feel worthless. I don't know if that's what happened, but if it is, then the therapy might also help a lot with some of those unconscious harmful habits he retains from the abuse.
They brushed past that sleepwalking story way too easily; and most of the comments on the video and on reddit did too. There is no way that Greg wasn't 100% pre-meditating a murder from the second he moved in. I forget whether it was a youtube or reddit comment; but someone laid it out some great points: Greg's screaming wasn't a side effect of sleepwalking, he was conditioning OP and any possible nearby neighbors into ignoring the sound of blood-curdling shrieks coming from their house. This meant the night Greg eventually killed OP, no one would think anything of it, while also slowly causing OP to become an even heavier sleeper so he could keep sneaking around doing god knows what during OP's sleep. Then while yes people can do violent things in their sleep and complex things in their sleep, you're still asleep. It's mostly reflexes. Not to mention as the one reddit commentor points out, while complex actions can occur during the sleepwalk, the likelihood of repeatedly doing the exact same thing over and over doesn't, like their cooking story. Similar things can reoccur often, yes; but not the exact same every time. And certainly not if that thing is pulling out a polaroid, aiming it directly at your sleeping roommate, in his room that you've managed to walk into every time this happens, taking the photo correctly every time, presumably with proper zoom, pulling the image out, *dating it* without sloppy handwriting, then grabbing the tools you happen to have on you despite, y'know, sleepwalking, and opening up the vent in your roommate's room to gently place down the newest photo. All right next to your homemade weapon that you conveniently also sharpened while also sleepwalking. And presumably doing this exact set of actions without change or fail at least once a week or so. Yeah no, there is 0 logical explanation for this being sleepwalking. Plus yeah, saying you're a sleepwalker when moving in with someone is important; but it's also a great cover. Also if Greg was really just embarrassed about sleepwalking again, no way in hell he'd pack up everything he owned within a night and bail, no note or anything. Greg probably thought he was found out and maybe even that OP was heading to a police station, so he panicked and bailed.
This makes sense, my cousin was also a sleepwalker XD but he will try to go down stairs and almost hurting himself while doing so. Hit walls front facing, and keep on walking along the walls, like he did stupid things because he was not aware, his body was walking but his senses were not. This sound too premeditated to be an actual sleepwalking case
I 100% agree like how is everyone not freaking the fuck out over this story!!!!That is not just sleepwalking. Just the fact that he would stop screaming when OP was coming to check on him is too convenient to me. It sounds like he was testing how long it took OP (or possibly even neighbors as well) to wake up/react to it so he knew how heavy of a sleeper OP was or if anyone would come knock on the door to ask what is going on. It’s also extremely rare to murder someone while sleepwalking and it’s not a premeditated thing like this was. And I’m pretty sure if he was sleepwalking, he wouldn’t react and freeze and turn around to look at OP when they turned on the light. That seems like he was fully conscious and just froze in shock because he got caught. Between all that and the fact that OP had zero family or friends or any way to contact him and never heard from him again? Yeah 100% attempted murder. Because if in the one in a million chance this was somehow actually sleepwalking and Greg had no true intention of harming OP, there’s no way he would just leave like that after waking up and realizing what he was about to do. At the absolute least he would have left a note or written a letter or something to explain and say he left to make sure OP was safe and apologize profusely. Like literally just the fact he never heard from him again alone confirms to me it was not just “sleepwalking”. OP seriously under reacted to every situation and got very lucky. I can’t believe he didn’t kick him out or sleep with 10 different locks on his door and security cameras everywhere since at least the night he caught him screaming in his room. Holy shit.
Yeah that story is absolutely insane, I'm a sleepwalker and there's no way that can logically happen during sleepwalking. Sleepwalking patterns are usually things you do daily, like sometimes I've tried folding laundry while sleepwalking. The most truly complex thing I've done while sleepwalking was moving an armchair out of the way of a door in my vacay room and unlocking said door to go outside. (just editing to say I was perfectly fine during that door situation, i didn't get far and wasn't injured at all)
op posted an update to the first story and tldr for those who just wanna know what happened: the wife was stalking the ex (it started because of insecurity but soon turned into more of an addiction) and now both op and his wife are going to therapy and couple's counseling
Wow, imagine being that couples therapist! You have a lot of clients with intense situations and need help with a lot of things so you think, “ah, this can’t be too crazy.” Having the first session like, “tell me what is going on with you two and why you are seeking therapy together.” and they tell you what was in the entire Reddit post. SO fucking wild.
i hear the sleep deprivation thing in abuse households a loooot. in so many domestic abuse stories you hear the man not letting his partner sleep and its honestly insanely evil.
man or woman, whoever the abuser. I had an old friend i cut off who use to never let her husband nap, sleep in, etc yet she could and he was the only one with a job. My mom use to do that stuff to me too.
That was one of the worst parts of my experience. Being tired is such a normalized part of everyday life for most people I didn't even realize that there was a pattern behind why I was exhausted until near the end of the relationship.
The prank husband story was terrifying, I really hope that poor baby is never alone with that man. how far will he take it? God forbid he poising the baby as a "prank" PLEASE PRESS CHARGES ON HIM! he's not a safe person at all.
op was rlly smart to notice the red flags and leave for the sake of herself and the baby, sucks that she's the baby's only parent now but i hope they're doing better and she has proper help !!
I guarantee that he would've woken up the kid a bunch of times before stuff like the first day of school or the day of an important exam, I've never been more certain in my life
I've seen the one about husband pranking the new mom probably 3 times now and each time I end up in tears over it. I cannot imagine all the manipulation and pain she must've gone through to get the point of questioning if she's overreacting to being fed human feces. She deserves a partner who will love and support her through the traumatic bodily experience of birth and the exhaustion and stress of a newborn, not someone who will psychologically torture her and threatens the same harm on her infant.
while my hope is that the story is fake as honestly quite a lot of reddit stories like that are, i get this sinking feeling that its not. not when paired with the sleep depravation stuff.
They didn’t even consider Owen’s feelings too. What if Owen just really liked getting all these free stuff etc. he was probably taught by his mom to be grateful or as a kid who has seen his mom stuggle, would have grown up more maturely and understood the amount of opportunities he is getting.
THIS IS CALLED BEING A GODPARENT. you can say, and my and my partner are trying to become a touchstone for many people in different situations. GOD FORBID something happened to owens mom, we are a safe, loving family that can give owen a place to live with someone who knew his parent. But that was disgusting
@@Luke-zv6bb and that sounds completely different in a good way. You're offering support for those need it in emergencies. These parents are basically saying "you're not a good enough mother, we're better. Let us take your son"
The husband who pranks his wife - his pranks are escalating now that he doesn't have her attention because she is focused on the baby. If no one intervenes, he's not gonna stop.
How has prank guy made it this far in life without being knocked tf out? If someone poisoned me with drug gummies id be calling the police and having him charged.
I mean the last prank I participated in was when a coworker of mine came to eat at the restaurant we work at, and one of the servers had the idea for everyone to “hear that she needed a straw” and so about twenty different servers stopped to give her a single straw as they passed her until her husband was like “am i in the twilight zone???!?” 😭 “Good” pranks don’t embarrass/hurt anyone, they just cause confusion and a good laugh 😭
42:55 “there’s nowhere to HIDE” is soooo real!!! That story literally makes me want to prop my phone up on the coffee table and watch the rest of the video from behind the couch like I’m hiding from gunfire 😭😭
i remember reading that post when it was first made over *six years ago* and have heard it multiple times since and this level of terror never goes away 😭
That journal entry was scarier than the paranormal story. Holy shit that dude was closing in on her like Five Nights At Freddy’s! That was insane! Lady didn’t even do anything except show up to work looking presentable
The shower prank one made me cringe a little but also laugh. The Redditor clearly read the creepy pasta “My Wife Has Been Creeping at Me From Around Corners” and got away with it lol
@@Cuggaconroyfan30001 they've said before that they rule out the possibility of it being fake for the content usually, like tbh i'd say around 60-70 percent of the stories they've read are made up. in fact in this very video two of the stories are obviously fake
The shower prank sounds like that creepypasta "My Wife's Been Peeking At Me Around Corners". The shower scene, the grinning, the spouse being confused/hating pranks.
OK, but what if the ex lives in another country now because she was running away from the current wife. Like what if she’s been dealing with this psycho for years and she just couldn’t tell anyone.
I honestly don't think that's the case. My theory, based on the timeline of the newborn and behavior started--i think she's had some kind of illness similar to BPD, that was mild up UNTIL the pregnancy hormones messed with her mind. That plus it seems like the guy started to talk more about his ex recently. Not blaming him, but I think with enough time passed, and a baby on the way, he started to feel more comfortable talking about the good parts of his ex/his last relationship because he felt his life was moved on and safe. He didn't realize that this + hormones started wreaking havoc with whatever mental illness his wife had. That's my theory anyway 🤷
My mother has fed me food that's turned bad as a prank on many occasions. When I realized that she was definitely doing it on purpose is when I decided to no longer eat any of her food for any reason. I am an adult & have my own house.
i have been in the process of writing a book for a few years now and the antagonist is very much like that guy (minus the journaling plus a murder attempt) and whenever i start doubting how believable the antagonist in the story is, its stuff like this that hits me too hard that its not just believable but realistic. it fucking sucks ass.
1:05:10 bro imagine being Charlie and growing up to find out that your parents tried to both buy, and then later kidnap your best friend? Like can OP please get custody of Charlie?
Every time i hear a reddit story here, its like the first time. I feel like i forget about details or certain stories so its nice to relive hearing them.
regarding the prank one: sleep deprivation is a method of torture and him just casually doing that to his wife is insane. also giving weed gummies to someone without their knowledge is straight up drugging.
That shower one is legit terrifying. Being literal feet away from the face of something that allegedly ISN'T your boyfriend (assuming he actually wasn't pranking her) that you can't find any evidence to suggest where it came from or went, despite it actually physically tampering with the space (shower curtain moving, music turning down, lights turning off).
It’s so similar to the show Kevin Can F*ck Himself on Netflix where he lives his happy “goofy” life and she lives in the awful reality of being around him
The adoption story, wow! Who da fuck are the couple that judge OP for not having so much money and claiming they can give him a better life cause' they got more funds? The kid truly needs a strong relationship with the single parent. She's an awesome mom that's capable of raising her kid under the circumstances while teaching important values at the same time. That is a great role model for any parent current or future to emulate. The whole tale sounds like the plot of a kidnapping in a crime show. Their intention sounded innocent at first, but the dark truth eventually gets revealed when there's resistance from the single mom.
I just have to remember what we say when we are reading stories from people who are clearly the bad guy in the story; they advocate for themselves so that they appear better in the story, so that we take their side. In this story with the single mother and child, I worry she is advocating for herself very, very well. I worry that parts of the story are exagerated or completely made up, as we have witnessed in other reddit stories, when the other party have commented on it and explained how the OP has fabricated a story so as to live in a fantasy and get people to support them. Why did her parents disown her? What is the child's quality of life with her not having enough money to give the son a good life? How often and how long is he left behind at waiting to be picked up by her after she works late? What did the son tell the other family about how it is to live with her, in confidence, when his mother was not around? We don't know, of course, but it makes me wonder. Obviously, the other family cannot just kidneppap a child. Nobody is questioning that. But is that really what happened..? And even if it was, maybe there's at least _some_ context as to why they would take such overly extreme measures.
@@Myrillin the "Why did her parents disown her?" question is kind of silly if you're trying to use that to back up possible reasons she might be bad. I'm with you that she may be hiding stuff but parents disowning their children is almost never the child's fault
@@friendlyneigborhoodbean The parents of the guy who cheated on his wife with the wife's best friend disowned him. (It was on a Reddit stories with Courtney and Trevor, with the one of the updates dropping just before they started filming) I mean, I could probably find other examples, but neither of us have the stats on how likely the child was or wasn't at fault when being disowned by their parents. Is it more likely that the child isn't at fault, on average? Honestly, I guess so? Hard to know for sure. It's just a thing they mentioned that made me wonder, along with all the other things in combination. We just don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Myrillin she mentions she is a 24 year old. Owen is 8. Which means she got pregnant at 15-16. Have you really never heard of families disowning teen parents, especially girls?
The idea that a cutting off fingers prank is the most tame is sad and I hope OP leaves him and meantions this in the divorce so she can get full custody cause I dont trust someone like that around any child
29:55 the moment she said “I’m in Australia” I almost died… sounds exactly like something an Aussie would consider a prank.. though most normal Aussies would use Vegemite not actual shit
I think it might actually be a cry for attention in a f’d up way. Like he’s punishing her for ignoring him and his feelings. Especially when some new dads feel like they’re getting neglected where they weirdly fight for the wife’s attention. It’s horrible but sounds like he needs to be honest with his feelings which straight men really aren’t known for unfortunately.
i once said in the comments of one of the smosh reddit videos, "i have never hated someone more than the person in (x) story", this was true until the 4th story here, which i haven't watched the entire video to. honestly, just what in the world.
I made the mistake of going to the post and seeing the original journal entries…….. Truly, these don’t even scratch the surface, I felt like I needed a hazmat decon shower…
Showing up to defend baby gates. I also live in a house with multiple baby gates and no baby. I use them to keep my cats and dogs out of specific areas that could either cause harm to them or my roommates. One of my roommates is allergic so he needs a allergen free place to clean up. I also use them for when one of my pets is acting up so I can make sure they don't misbehave further.
As soon as Shayne started reading at 37:48 I got a pit in my stomach because I knew it was Our Love Forever. I’ve seen another RUclipsr named Sorrow TV cover it. Some of the creepiest shit out there, ever.
My reasoning for the second story-- the one about the woman in the shower, is probably the simplest explanation-- that he truly did just want to pull a "funny" prank and when she went to talk to him about it, he decides to feign ignorance for the gag. But then when he saw that it DEEPLY troubled her, her lost his opportunity to tell her the truth and thought that admitting it would get him into more trouble. As for how he got upstairs so fast, when we're scared our heartrate goes a thousand miles a minute, which messes up our perception of time. So it's entirely possible that she was so caught up in the initial scare that she just spent more time in the bathroom than she thought-- giving him enough time to maneuver through those obstacles quietly and without issue.
@@potatoman7594 Do you not understand how emotions and timeline works? Like how do I even explain how you misunderstood the story? Did you even listen to the entirety? She was *initially* annoyed. She *initially* asked her partner about it and she *found out* that he may have not done the thing she was accusing him of the, i.e. the thing she was annoyed about. THEN she became scared (she literally said she had to get her partner to guard her while she finished her showering afterwards and that she now always thinks about this in the shower). Did you just forget that last part?
Its such a common thing to disguise terrible behavior as a joke. Finally coming to terms with that as i get older. Becoming a parent really opened my eyes.
holy crap until that prank story I've never even CONSIDERED that Shayne worked with DAN SCHNEIDER! like holy shit, he probably has some stories to tell.
BEGGING you for a part 2, I love listening to the Smosh Reddit stories while I walk my dog but it’s so hard to find good ones that actually keep you frightening and on the edge of your seat
With the journal story. I was 17/18 when this happened I started working at dollar general it was about 6 months into working there this guy started coming in every day asking me out I would politely tell him no I have a boyfriend he wouldn’t stop. About a month after it started I come into work (I had a week off) one of my coworkers asked me if I knew him I said not outside of work she then told me that he was coming in every day asking for my schedule thank god she didn’t. One night I got a notification from messenger that I had a message request it was from him the text went like this “hi Angel if you really don’t want anything to do with me I’ll leave you alone I’ll give if you don’t text back I’ll know that’s my sign to leave you alone” obviously I didn’t he kept showing up to my work about 2 months he asked me if I saw the message I told him no I’m not messenger that much he told me to look he didn’t come back for another month I got another message from him it had been 3 months since he sent the first one the second message was “hi Angel please hear me out I’m being vulnerable and honest if I don’t get a message back I’ll leave you alone for good first I want to say I care about you more than you know (mind you I never talked to him outside of work ever) i know I already messed up by pushing you away and letting go too soon I’ll wait a couple weeks” I never texted him back. I again I had about a week off I come back the same coworker told me he has been camping outside the store (in his car) waiting for me, he stopped for awhile then he would be there when I would get out of work (my mom would pick me up I don’t drive) he would follow me home but kept enough distance to not be suspicious to other people but me (I didn’t tell anyone what was going on) after that day I went and told the manager and assistant manager turns out he was the assistant managers cousin she told me he knew what he was doing was wrong and she would help me. He got banned and I wasn’t at work at the time but when I went it they told me he got really mad like throwing things around punching stuff and I had to get a restraining order against him also he was like 30 something and had a 12 year old daughter I was 17/18. Scary ass shit.
The audacity of some of these grown ass men is insane 😅 it’s actually fairly common in the customer service industry that many women end up having a stalker. And it shouldn’t be that way but they’re tons of creepy men out there I hope you stay safe.(also i relate I’ve had one before I’m 19 now so I totally get how creepy and scary it can be when a grown man is infatuated with you.
@@EmmyKayNotKnownI understand that that man was a terrible person but to not mention that men have to go through this same experience is also wrong so just saying something like there are so many creepy men. That’s true but women can be that bad too
I think genuinely the shower story if its real is scary due to how casually he gaslit his partner into thinking theres mimic demon. He literally went "no babe it wasnt me but a demon!!!" Then she believed him. She either sleep deprived hallucinated the whole thing or he fully gaslit her. Theres no other explanation.
My sleep walking always results in me trying to pee in not-toilet places, but I haven’t done this since I was like 12. If I’ve sleep-walked since I started living alone, I have no idea.
The entry story haunts me. I never had a more worried facial expression reading each entry and every single awful decision made by the stalker and the HR guy. Nobody should even have to think that could happen to them, let alone have it actually happen to them
The coworker stalking the woman and keeping a journal is SO triggering. I wasn’t ready. I’m literally shaking. Going through something similar with a guy who I thought was a platonic friend. My stomach is churning
I mean if you’re hallucinating to that degree the music and lights are the least of it. At that point anything you’re seeing or doing cannot be 100% trusted. I think probably just a writing exercise though tbh
convincing yourself they were on when you never turned them on in the first place does though. The story starts with "I hadn't slept in over 24 hours" and every reason for why she believes it was a ghost comes from "i saw this". Odds are better she was just half asleep by the time she got to the shower so she closed the door behind her (its not special that they don't close the bathroom door during showers, unless they don't close it during shits and also leave every other door open both inside and out of the house muscle memory would tell her to close the door she just walked through) and got in, woke up in the middle of it, and instead of doubting what she thought was reality she came up with an explanation as to why things were actually different and not just her misremembering during a time of stress and fatigue
@@Penquinn14Yeah, she could have been half asleep and basically dreaming half the time I was also surprised they didn't consider that he only *said* he hated pranks, when actually they've had lots of weird stuff happen for ages and he could be massively gaslighting her for fun or for control
Shayne repeatedly saying “6 year old baby” in the awful prank husband story was both frustrating and funny, the way nobody caught it after multiple times xD
As someone with BPD, That first story is very textbook BPD behavior. Feeling a viceral sense of inadequacy and insecurity so you start to change yourself into what you know your partner likes. Id been a similar way, not the stalking but slowly turning to my S/Os ex because I was worried he wouldnt actually like me and acting like someone before me felt safe
My dad drove my grandmother home, while beeing asleep once. She wondered why he was acting a bit weird. He woke up at our home and thought he was late for picking up his mother and called to apologize, that was the moment they realized what happened.
1:00:35 this story is crazy because deadass the best way that they could ACTUALLY help is either get the guest house Shayne talks about or they rebuild the basement/attic as an apartment and rent half of their rent on that to help her save money, or even better just not charge rent for a couple years! That would give her time to figure out her entire financial situation to then be neighbors or within the neighborhood
Wow, I’m low-key impressed. I’ve been listening to every Reddit story. Smosh is ever put out, but that third story. I’ve actually never heard before props to you for finding those rare stories that somehow slipped me.
I had a "mimic" experience once (I just call them demons bc I'm Christian) BUT when I heard that shower story, my initial reaction was "so he's gaslighting her".
Tysm for putting these comps together - re-watching Reddit Stories is such vutal background noise for me, and Iove being able to mix it up like this💕☺️
10:16 I wouldn’t contact her personally, but if they still have mutual friends I would inform one of them with pictures of the file for proof and have them warn her
for the prank one... the prank i would pull would be telling her she had to clean when she was coming home from smth but i actually cleaned the entire house
The secret Google account story straight-up gave me "The Roommate" vibes, that is a disturbed individual. That was either an unhealthy obsession with OP, or an equally unhealthy obsession with OP's ex. I hope they get proper help, and I hope OP and their child make it through that situation in a positive, constructive way. Edit: I read some comments, and it sounds like things are looking positive. I hope it all works out for them and I'm glad they're seeking professional help. :)
Hold up. I’ve heard the journal story before but never caught that he actively tried to KIDNAP her and is serving… 2-5 years?! TWO-FIVE?! HE WAS GOING TO MURDER HER.
Basing this on American legal system per federal law (so not at state level) - unfortunately it looks like this felon got extremely lucky in their sentence - attempted kidnapping charges have a 20 year sentence maximum. Stalking, however, unless proven violent, has a limit of a 5 year sentence. If the kidnapping had been successful (so glad it wasn’t) the mandated sentence is life in prison.
As a pagan, verbalizing something does make it stronger in some since (based on my spiritual beliefs), but something that helps combat stuff like that would be sage, or even just verbalizing how your not afraid and showing no fear towards stuff like that. Evil spirits feed on your fear towards them, so if you show absolutely no fear or even make a joke of what you see it makes said thing less powerful. Which is why when you do stuff like that evil spirits tend to try harder. Just never show fear.
The scariest one to me is still the one about the guy that got him and his date deliberately lost in a national park because he wanted to spend more time with her. The creepy, robotic, sociopathic way he describes her and planned out the date is one of the scariest things i've ever heard.
Giving friends and family coffee he made with his wife's breastmilk? Setting off alarms while his sleep-deprived formally pregnant wife is trying to sleep? Secretly feeding his friend a weed gummy before he got on a flight causing him to have a panick attack mid-flight? Feeding his wife BABY FECES ON TOAST PRETENDING IT WAS PEANUT BUTTER?! Firstly, this man is practically BEGGING to be served a divorced aswell as to die alone in the future with no one left to wanna put up with him. Secondly, this guy is WAY overdue for a taste of his own medicine. This guy needs to get pranked so realistically, so horrifically terrifyingly, that he legitimately fears for his life and is convinced that he's gonna die, before it is revealed that it was "just a prank, bro". Extreme, I know, but if there's any humanity left in that immature bully, he might just have a life-flash at the moment before it's revealed to be a prank, and realize what absolute garbage he was to the people around him with his disgusting pranks.
"the journal" made me think of that lady and her boyfriend that had an appointment/cleaning job assignment at the towns realtor that ended chained up and locked in container while her boyfriend was unalived and buried outside the container.
Its truly a telief to hear that the op in the journal story has some actual protection because of the threat her former coworker represented. So manu times you hear stories like this and it ends horribly because police aren't legally obligated to stop it. Thankfully op lived somewhere they are

Most "overractions" aren't typical for the person "overracting."
But people who react like your brother are the reason why so many people say, "you're overracting."
@@kittyk8345
Nah I know he’s not to blame because people who say that are legit just emotional abusers trying to undermine emotions to make up for their own lack of ownership for their actions
Meanwhile my brother despite always being at a 10, ends up emotionally mature to own up to his actions
Though to be completely fair, we’re all pretty sure my brother is just autistic
Ok no, there is such things as overactions. The person reacting could literally be the one manipulating.
overreactimg is possible. screaming cause a kid dropped something is overeacting, teachers getting pissed because of students coughing or sneezing is overreacting etc
Wait your grandpas pranks are sooo funny, are there anymore pranks you can tell us? 😂 I might actually do that picture one lmao
The scary part is, he has mates who find his 'pranks' funny. Birds of a feather flock together, I guess.

To explain the baby gates, they are usually used for pets to keep them out of certain parts of the house.

This! We have several to keep dogs away from litterboxes, out of kitchen, away from cat food etc.
I pray the ex finds out and gets a restraining order, and that he divorces her immediately. I hate he found this out after she baby-trapped him.
I forget whether it was a youtube or reddit comment; but someone laid it out some great points:
Greg's screaming wasn't a side effect of sleepwalking, he was conditioning OP and any possible nearby neighbors into ignoring the sound of blood-curdling shrieks coming from their house.
He was 100% a murderer
Same with prefacing “night terrors”. Makes the screams seem way more understandable from an outside perspective
(just editing to say I was perfectly fine during that door situation, i didn't get far and wasn't injured at all)
op posted an update to the first story and tldr for those who just wanna know what happened:
the wife was stalking the ex (it started because of insecurity but soon turned into more of an addiction) and now both op and his wife are going to therapy and couple's counseling
THEY DIDNT DIVORCE??? HELLO SO THIS IS ACTUALLY INSANE
Oh wow what a happy ending
Wow, imagine being that couples therapist! You have a lot of clients with intense situations and need help with a lot of things so you think, “ah, this can’t be too crazy.” Having the first session like, “tell me what is going on with you two and why you are seeking therapy together.” and they tell you what was in the entire Reddit post. I've seen the one about husband pranking the new mom probably 3 times now and each time I end up in tears over it. I cannot imagine all the manipulation and pain she must've gone through to get the point of questioning if she's overreacting to being fed human feces. Those parents who wanted to adopt Owen completely disregarded that he was such a great kid bc of his single mom and how she was raising him.
They didn’t even consider Owen’s feelings too. What if Owen just really liked getting all these free stuff etc. he was probably taught by his mom to be grateful or as a kid who has seen his mom stuggle, would have grown up more maturely and understood the amount of opportunities he is getting.

It doesn't seem like that's the case as they weren't really in contact with her

The adoption story, wow! Who da fuck are the couple that judge OP for not having so much money and claiming they can give him a better life cause' they got more funds? The kid truly needs a strong relationship with the single parent. She's an awesome mom that's capable of raising her kid under the circumstances while teaching important values at the same time. That is a great role model for any parent current or future to emulate. The whole tale sounds like the plot of a kidnapping in a crime show. Their intention sounded innocent at first, but the dark truth eventually gets revealed when there's resistance from the single mom.
No seriously. Their intentions seemed sweet but if they truly had good intentions they would've stepped back the moment she said no
I just have to remember what we say when we are reading stories from people who are clearly the bad guy in the story; they advocate for themselves so that they appear better in the story, so that we take their side.

Becoming a parent really opened my eyes.
The motto for pranks I've always heard was "confuse, don't abuse"
holy crap until that prank story I've never even CONSIDERED that Shayne worked with DAN SCHNEIDER!
like holy shit, he probably has some stories to tell.
I didn't even think about that, I assumed he meant Jeff Garlin.
he said "actor" tho, but yeah, i don't even want to begin to imagine what kind of things he witnessed being so close to that man at such a young age
@@Batkandiwho is that? what did he do
@@vitoisadoll oh yeah didn't even think abt that. maybe it was Jeff BC Dan was a director.
@@vitoisadoll Jeff garlin was the lead of the Goldberg's that Shayne was in. he was fired for sexual misconduct.
That’s true but women can be that bad too
@ I know just on average it’s more common in women nothing against male victims
Throw a comma in here and there, this is kind of hard to read
I think genuinely the shower story if its real is scary due to how casually he gaslit his partner into thinking theres mimic demon. He literally went "no babe it wasnt me but a demon!!!" Then she believed him. She either sleep deprived hallucinated the whole thing or he fully gaslit her. Theres no other explanation.
Dw, it's a copy of a creepypasta called My wife keeps creeping on me around corners or something similar so it's absolutely not real ❤

On the ‘jokester’ of a husband, HOW did you ever make it to marriage! I would not have able to handle him at all. Nope.
My sleep walking always results in me trying to pee in not-toilet places, but I haven’t done this since I was like 12. If I’ve sleep-walked since I started living alone, I have no idea.
you're gonna randomly stumble upon a stash of piss bottles somewhere in your house one day.
@@potatoman7594 I just deep cleaned my apartment and so far nothing… I hope I’m not leaving my apartment.
I think it’s a good idea to install cameras to monitor your possible sleep walking, just to be on the safe side.
Oh my God, I hope you're safe! Please trust your gut
23:51 carbon monoxide doesn’t turn off your lights and turn off your phone music.
@@Penquinn14Yeah, she could have been half asleep and basically dreaming half the time
I was also surprised they didn't consider that he only *said* he hated pranks, when actually they've had lots of weird stuff happen for ages and he could be massively gaslighting her for fun or for control
Yeah. He did it. He is gaslighting her.
It is most likely a spoof of "my wife has been peeking at me from around corners"
Prank. I put a sign on the new office copier that said it was "Voice Activated"....
That’s hilarious but I would quit out of embarrassment 😭
That’s a great prank, hiding alarms clocks in the ceiling. Prank.
Damien's PITCH PERFECT seriousness when talking about the "got your nose" "prank" was fantastic.
These stories are why women choose the bear
The sheer amount of discomfort Tommy and Amanda experience during the journal story breaks me every time.
1:00:35 this story is crazy because deadass the best way that they could ACTUALLY help is either get the guest house Shayne talks about or they rebuild the basement/attic as an apartment and rent half of their rent on that to help her save money, or even better just not charge rent for a couple years! That would give her time to figure out her entire financial situation to then be neighbors or within the neighborhood
the last one w the roommate is genuinely terrifying, def the only one that actually creeps me out
Wow, I’m low-key impressed. I’ve been listening to every Reddit story. Smosh is ever put out, but that third story. I’ve actually never heard before props to you for finding those rare stories that somehow slipped me.
Tommy's go to is being running and hiding is felt
I had a "mimic" experience once (I just call them demons bc I'm Christian) BUT when I heard that shower story, my initial reaction was "so he's gaslighting her".
Tysm for putting these comps together - re-watching Reddit Stories is such vutal background noise for me, and Iove being able to mix it up like this💕☺️
i hadn't heard the journal story and honest to god chills. that and the owen story right after... i am in goosebumps right now
10:16 I wouldn’t contact her personally, but if they still have mutual friends I would inform one of them with pictures of the file for proof and have them warn her
for the prank one... the prank i would pull would be telling her she had to clean when she was coming home from smth but i actually cleaned the entire house
pathological. you're a monster.
Thats a prank I could live with.
dude this is what life is all about
i hope you know that this channel fills the void i have on days when smosh doesn’t post
the second story is CRAZY OMG GOOSEBUMPS
"If you have a storage unit thats creepy"
I screamed cause i just got a storage unit today! 😭😭😭
Filling the Smosh drought in my heart once again
Extreme, I know, but if there's any humanity left in that immature bully, he might just have a life-flash at the moment before it's revealed to be a prank, and realize what absolute garbage he was to the people around him with his disgusting pranks.
the *HR PERSON* of all people giving away a young woman's personal information so quickly really goes to show why she wanted to bounce from that job.
I LOVE THESE REDDIT STORY COMPILATIONS
26:11 OooOH THE SCREAM I SCREAMT
My jaw is on the FLOOR
I don't think you understand how much I appreciate these 😭😭
omg all these stores bring back MEMORIES hhhhhhh (thanks for the comp! i love all the reddit stories content lol)
Baby gates - lots of people use baby gates to keep pets away from certain areas of the house or keep pets IN certain parts of the house.
"the journal" made me think of that lady and her boyfriend that had an appointment/cleaning job assignment at the towns realtor that ended chained up and locked in container while her boyfriend was unalived and buried outside the container.
its my bday today and thank you for this smosh and grab🫡
Its truly a telief to hear that the op in the journal story has some actual protection because of the threat her former coworker represented. So manu times you hear stories like this and it ends horribly because police aren't legally obligated to stop it. Thankfully op lived somewhere they are
3:53 i think he should try and get full custody and a restraining order he should say tht she has a mental illness, , , cause theyre is no way she is a mentally sane person
i regret watching this at like midnight lol that sleepwalking one gave me a really creepy imagery that i might have trouble sleeping lol
I've become more interested in these Reddit stories thanks to the compilation of episodes you've done. I know my comment isn't necessary, but I want to thank you for taking the time to create this. I never realized that people could do things that are truly incomprehensible.
I sleepwalk occasionally... It was happening most often while on medication for insomnia... But the scariest events for me was when I "woke up" outside my place walking around naked in the apartment complex... One of which was I getting woken up by a cop
with the prank story, the third one, the breastmilk thing is potentially endangering your kid or neglect bc its taking THEIR FOOD when its just. . . not there. then again its australia. its awful.
A prank is when you see your friend who hasn’t noticed you yet, and you sneak up behind and tap their right shoulder but duck around to the left so they look the wrong way.
Bro that journal story was CRAAAZYYY.... like, what was that? Omg!!
