What I truly like about D'Angelo is how refreshing he is as a person. You can see he's a good guy and very smart but I really like how he comes across as a very stoic and arrogant person but in a hillariously obvious way. He doesn't humblebrag nor does he try to feel relatable. He's just there to conquer the world. Even the fact that he doesn't follow anyone on instagram is a nice detail that adds up to his whole persona. You don't often get to enjoy humour involving a seemingly dead-serious person. I was here since he had 288K subs. Nice to see that my eye appreciated these details when they weren't widely acknowledged yet ;)
And then you get glimpses of him as a person that show how caring and sensitive he actually is and that makes is so much better. Like the Haley Morales video or his apology (and just side comments/arguments he makes)

I also went to college at 15 and had to cram every time I was re-tested on the damn multiplication tables. ;) (Which came up surprisingly often in weird "overview of what you've learned so far" classes, but I immediately forgot them every. single. time. Understanding algebra and geometry are constantly useful in adult life, especially if you do buy a house, memorizing lots of data... isn't so much in 2020.)
Totally relatable! I took college courses while I was a full-time high school student... just did them at night, as online wasn't even a thing back then... I found high school super boring (but necessary) and my brain wanted a better challenge. Decades later, as a teacher, that experience really informs how I do my job and relate to my own students. 💙 EDIT: And I worked a part-time job at the same time... and paid for said college courses out of my own pocket. It's good to practice those independence skills early. Prepares you for life. 💙
You can (if you are in the US)!!! I did and still got into good schools. I dropped out, got a job in the field I wanted to go into, got my GED, then went straight to community college from there. I "technically" only had a 10th grade education, but had no issues moving on to college. After some community college I was able to go to University to specialize and get the education that I really wanted. There's also virtually no emotional bs to deal with in college when it comes to interpersonal conflicts like bullying and stuff. That's especially true for online classes. That being said, I was a good student prior and generally had good grades and tested well. It's not a good option for everyone and there are cons. I cannot begin to tell you how great a choice it was for me though. My best friend did turn her nose up at it and made a lot of comments about my dropping out, but everyone else was great about it. It was the best option for me. I'd tried school hopping to try to escape my anxiety and PTSD triggers, but learned it was me not the school environment. The schools did try to accommodate my issues and even allowed me to leave the class if needed w/o asking for permission and was cleared to be able to wander in the middle of class and that did help. It just was not enough. IEPs are valuable and anyone who is struggling, even with things like mental health should consider one with their school before calling it quits. Although, I did get some bs about being in "dumb kid classes". Which is an issue of its own. If anyone is interested I'd suggest looking at some GED lesson books and seeing if you think you're ready to move on from HS. Contacting local community colleges about seeking financial aid would be a wise choice if you are not able to afford it on your own. They're usually very helpful and can be contacted via email most of the time if you don't like making phonecalls. Just in case anyone else is going through similar things. Your school experience should not feel like torture.

IEPs have all sorts of wonderful applications that most teachers aren't even aware of, let alone students and parents. When our education system tries to be a one-size-fits all prospect, that's when it ends up failing MOST of our students. So glad you found a way that worked for you and that you had support with your choices! 💙

Honestly? The whole system needs a makeover. There are elements of other countries' systems that would be wonderful to integrate into ours (here in Canada) -- and we desperately need to being back subjects like Home Economics and Shop class. I will never understand the logic behind why those were cut... they teach real-life skills that all of us use every single day. 👍

Honestly, he's telling the truth. D'Angelos has many virtues but false humility isn't generally one of them. I also started college at 15... because I was bored. It's ridiculously easy to test out (GED) and start college if your parents/guardians let you. Many, if not most, 15 year olds could probably do this if they realized how much of a scam American high school is. I was kind of a nerd, but my non-academic sister also left early to go into a trade. It's not really that hard, they just don't want you to realize that.

Ok, one important thing that people miss about D'Angelo is that he absolutely not only knows what he is talking about but also knows his worth and value as a human being. He values, respects, and loves himself in a healthy way; not only he is great as what he does but he also improves on a personal level (how he lost weight to be healthier and changed up his style and aesthetic over time) he commits to himself in a healthy way, not like it is trendy nowadays to do "self-care" and "not give a Fuck" about what others say attitude which frankly does not take us Genzs anywhere in life it only acts as a social check to impose these trends on ourselves like a label. But I am hopeful because every once in a while we can find young and inspiring people like D'Angelo who know their value already and don't say and do things for the social clout only. There are only two ways in which people genuinely find success/happiness in life that is either to stay true to yourself or stay true to yourself you get. people like Sh*ne, J*free star, and other people like that who half-ass life eventually get so far and one day they wake up and see that they have been D'Angelo WallacED. lol hope he reads this so give like this if you agree

I totally agree! Everytime I watch him I realize how little I know about anything I thought I did. And I'm way older. Age does not equal education, knowledge or wisdom. I've always struggled with the idea of respecting our "elders" just for being older and this is why. I think everyone deserves respect until they behave in a manner that is not respectable. Everyone gets my respect from the start and from there it depends on their actions and words whether they keep it, gain more or lose it. If I'm being a dumbass I cant expect people to have respect for me either.

It’s not that difficult like there’s a lot of factors into how early you graduate college - you can have a late birthday, go for a short degree, and cram as many credits as possible into each year!

He took the SAT early and got in on his scores. I did the same, although I went to a school specifically for kids who wanted to start college early so 90% of my classmates were my age. You can get your GED whenever and that counts as a diploma too, but the SAT scores are the big ticket item in the US. I got accepted at 15, started at 16 and attended four years graduating at 19 because summer birthday

I also started college at 15... because I was bored. It's ridiculously easy to test out (GED) and start college if your parents/guardians let you. Many, if not most, 15 year olds could probably do this if they realized how much of a scam American high school is. I was kind of a nerd, but my non-academic sister also left early to go into a trade. It's not really that hard, they just don't want you to realize that.

Ok, one important thing that people miss about D'Angelo is that he absolutely not only knows what he is talking about but also knows his worth and value as a human being. He values, respects, and loves himself in a healthy way; not only he is great as what he does but he also improves on a personal level (how he lost weight to be healthier and changed up his style and aesthetic over time) he commits to himself in a healthy way, not like it is trendy nowadays to do "self-care" and "not give a Fuck" about what others say attitude which frankly does not take us Genzs anywhere in life it only acts as a social check to impose these trends on ourselves like a label. I totally agree! Everytime I watch him I realize how little I know about anything I thought I did. And I'm way older. Age does not equal education, knowledge or wisdom. I've always struggled with the idea of respecting our "elders" just for being older and this is why. I think everyone deserves respect until they behave in a manner that is not respectable. Everyone gets my respect from the start and from there it depends on their actions and words whether they keep it, gain more or lose it. If I'm being a dumbass I cant expect people to have respect for me either.

It’s not that difficult like there’s a lot of factors into how early you graduate college - you can have a late birthday, go for a short degree, and cram as many credits as possible into each year!

You can get your GED whenever and that counts as a diploma too, but the SAT scores are the big ticket item in the US. I got accepted at 15, started at 16 and attended four years graduating at 19 because summer birthday
