Wow... You must not watch a lot of combat sports. This is literally how boxing works and has for the past 100 years. Its called managing your fighter properly. Its up to the fighter to be willing to fight anyone, anywhere at any time. Its up to his managers and coaches to not let him and instead objectively consider his ability and put him into a position where he will consistently succeed. You think Floyyd Mayweather got to the position he was in by taking on challenging fights? He avoided hard fights for the majority of his career and it was wise. Now he gets to reap the benefits of a crazy good record and can fight nobodies (in the boxing world) for gigantic paydays. And to be honest, MVP's career is probably managed well BECAUSE he comes from a more political combat sport in the form of kickboxing. The MMA template for getting underpaid and signing to fight anyone who gets offered to you, is a bad model for longevity and for developing yourself as a decorated fighter.

@Kaden it was a split decision and a garbage one. Lima won easily. Same with the Daley fight. MVP got a decision win, but Daley clearly won the fight. Judges are sometimes paid to protect the the business' top stars.
@Kaden MVP is too slick for tin cans, and too weak for anyone above a C grade. With all those wins, dude only fought for the belt a couple times at the end of his career

There are plenty of fighters that do the same without taunting the other person or showboating. There are also many that after landing a crushing KO actually look concerned for the other guy. This guy only looks concerned about himself and constantly shows bad sportsmanship so.... No....

MVP is a can crusher but a low hand style can work. Wonderboy, Isreal Adesanya and Anderson Silva come to mind. The problem isn't fighting without having a high guard at all times. The problem is he isn't good enough to do so against the top contenders.
He's got amazing footwork too. I think he would be great in a pure-striking fight - no going to ground
