I would rather live in a 55+ community with fewer amenities. For example, I don't play golf, so why am I'm paying extra into something I'm never going to use??
We are seriously considering a 55+ somewhere in AZ. One “pro” you didn’t mention, and that’s probably because it’s politically incorrect, is no kids. We don’t have kids, and now (63 and 64) after all these years living in regular neighborhoods, we are tired of the screaming kids (younger) and loud stereos (older). Yes grandkids and such will visit in a 55+, but that’s not the same as the nonstop screeching (not exaggerating) day in and day out, especially during the summer here. We would also welcome strict rules that keep the area nicer for everyone and property values up….no overgrown yards, peeling paint, or junker cars parked on the lawn.
OH! You gave us a good laugh, John! “There’s weird people everywhere.” Haha! Love your videos!!! (We are working with Chris Rickey & will be heading to LMHH when we retire. She’s fantastic!)
We visited Sun City and Margaritaville earlier in the year during the week..We are looking for a very active community but all videos I have viewed always shows the town centers in middle of weekday. I want to see how these communities are on a weekend evening to get the vibe of the 55 plus atmosphere. Great videos John but maybe head out on a weekend evening to catch the essence of what most folks are experiencing.
Think this is a great video if you are considering a 55+ gated community
Unfortunately the amenities at some of these 55+ communities cost as much in maintenance fees as the mortgage on your house.
yes, but a $500K house an up, the costs for what you get are pretty good.

Great comment! A lot of people think like that!

55+ communities end up being a prison for the residents!😂
Sorry you feel that way, they are loved by millions
Bottom line, it's always good to buy a property. 🥵
I agree! Thanks for watching
