- Watermelons in the summer are just perfection! What's your favorite summer fruit?
This painting relies heavily on blooms. They can be tricky the first few times you try them. You want just a little water in your brush and remember they grow!
If your brain isn't cooperating with the grid these would look super cute placed chaotically around the page!
In this video I used my Big Ideas sketchbook that I sell, my Unicorn Food Watercolors, and a size 1 quill brush.

I was inspired x2! I bought a watermelon during my grocery shopping trip today and then painted watermelons tonight!
It was fun to paint, but I agree that trying to divide my paper into 9 spaces was the hardest part. LOL
The dividing isn't the most fun part, but it is satisfying in the end.

@@RebelUnicornCrafts not as pretty as yours but i enjoyed making it so much that i'm going to give it another try. My colors look dull to me, but maybe it's because i don't have a good quality palette (mine costed 15 euros). Next week will be my first watercolor class. The teacher told me that we would beguin by talking about the colors, papers... everything that is needed. I guess i'll understand better how colors papers and brushes interact together. Thank you for asking me how it went with my watermelons 🥰

Yes! I've done saguaros, too, just not in a grid format.
