They didn't kill it. Cartoon network wouldn't give the right to the show to Disney after the buy out because they were rivals. That's why it was canceled
I always thought that was somewhat of an odd one for a semi Darth Vader moment. By that point Obi-Wan was a member of the Jedi council so in addition to the duchess of mandalore being onboard you have one of the most important Jedi in the galaxy as well as hundreds of people on board. I think even within even the most passive of Jedi that killing him was justified
I like how frightened some of his opponents get fighting him. It's like they went in expecting a Jedi and ended up fighting a Sith in Jedi robes. Just a ton of unexpected fury and ferocity.
@ElChapo The Taco You might want to double check your comment there. As funny as it would be to leave it, you wrote "in their pursuit of their version of *food*." I'm sure you just missed the G key there lol.
@@markuscaesar670 I mean the jedi council has to. If the jedi expell anakin for anything they know the sith lord will just pick him up the second he leaved and a full powered dark side anakin that isn't crippled on mustafar has the power to wipe out pretty much every jedi without trying so its let anakin express a little anger now and then, or expel him and wait a few weeks until a force god with red lightning is vaporizing jedi with no effort and palpatine is just laughing in the back at the jedis stupidity.
@D.K Maybe I worded that differently. If anakin was expelled he would get recruited by the sith before he could get to the b ottom of the stairs. He would need to be trained in the Dark side, he doesnt have the ability to kill everyone immediatly. At the temple sidious literally said kill them all to become strong enough with the force. I don't think you know what I was talking about theres a comic that shows what a full powered anakin could have been. Darth Vader was weak and crippled. As a full powered anakin that won on mustafar he would have doubled palpatines power quickly, had red lightning, black pertruding wrist lightsabers, and in his vision of this through a dark side portal made by darth momin, he sees himself defeating the entire jedi order in a 1v20ish, and then disintigrates palpatine. The point of the vision is to show that no matter how powerful he became, he still lost padme and coulnt bring her back. At the temple sidious literally said kill them all to become strong enough with the force.
Markus Caesar clone wars is brilliant and the last season was better than most of the films but clone wars Anakin’s descent to the dark side is a lot less believable than movie anakins. Especially in the last clone wars episodes
Always loved how Clovis challenges Anakin to a fist fight as if without his Jedi powers and lightsaber he's nothing and then Anakin immediately proceeds to pound his face in.
I mean, to that situation, that was the best solution. He was not any less arm with that detonator than with a blaster or lightsaber, in fact, even more so, so I consider that fair play
"Why don't you try fighting like a man without your jedi tricks?" Did this cushy senator just challenge a battle-hardened well trained f'ing space knight to fisticuffs?
@Shreyas Misra Why do they do that though, don't they have legions of robots at their beck and call ? I feel like they're just being dicks at that point. Not only that but aren't the clones just manufactured human slaves to begin with ? If they were gonna go through all that trouble they could've just banned slavery and earned some popularity among the masses. Even without Palpatine i can't help but feel the Republic would've just collapsed on itself anyway. It's clearly an inefficient corrupt state.
@@hakimdaaloul9886 Slave trade occurs in the more remote and less developed parts of the Republic so it wouldn't be any use banning it since the Republic doesn't really have any real means to effectively enforce the ban in those parts. So not only would a ban barely change a thing but it also would deny the Republic of the revenue it collects through the trade. I mean, even the Empire which was far more militarized than the Republic barely managed to maintain control over its remote sectors, the small forces deployed there were only to ensure the planets recognized the Empire's suzerainty otherwise they were allowed to self rule, the galaxy is just that vast and it's near impossible to maintain strict control throughout all the systems. If it's any comfort, slavery is looked down upon by the more well off systems and among Republic and Imperial ranks but a proper ban on it is impractical
Um slavery was illegal in the republic, as learned in episode 1, but that didn’t stop self enforcing corporations from using slaves. And since Anakin had such an emotional reaction to the zygerrian, being a Jedi and all, Ahsoka wouldn’t have been used to seeing him like that.
He shows the *eh-hem* _dark side_ of humans, but why is that all humans are to you? Is being of high moral character and at least trying to avoid immorality inhuman?
The problem with Anakin is that he was so impulsive thus he let his emotions control him. The Jedi saw that when they met him by first time as a kid and that’s why they initially refused to train him, but they ended up training him 'cuz Qui-Gon's will.
Eh, I don't know man. I consider myself a pretty normal human, and I wouldn't just randomly slaughter a bunch of third graders because some old guy in an Illuminati robe told me my wife would die if I didn't. But to each his own.
"Jedi must never have attachments, they must always live to serve the will of the force." This is why the present Jedi weren't crying but it's also the thing that made Anakin turn to the dark side. The Jedi's way of seeing everything as black and white was their ultimate downfall.
I mean the Jedi knew Obi wasn't dead for one, but also they are very solemn in funerals because they are very spiritual people, they accept that death is part of life and don't fear it like regular people do, in a way many soldier's funerals are like this as well with soldiers not crying not because they don't care but because they have a different perspective of death.

Believe me Ahsoka was crying.. Not because of Obi wan.. Because of Anakin
Jedi teachings outline that Jedi should not play god over who lives and who dies when the person is a prisoner. Jedi always try to find the peaceful resolution and let justice handle things. By playing judge jury and executioner the Jedi feel that is too close to the Dark Side
Obi Wan is against killing unarmed men himself, but not against others doing it. Same thing happened in another episode, where a slavetrader was unarmed, and obi could not do anything, and Rex executed him
It's kind of funny Anakin did that, it would of been completely fine to bash him on the back of his head with the Lightsaber head. No one needed to die.
I love when ever anakin does something remotely bad or something the Jedi wouldn’t agree with, you can hear the hints of Vader’s theme in the background. It also seems like it becomes more and more prominent as he Slowly descends deeper and deeper to the dark side
The only thing i dont agree with is the first scene it happens...even by the Jedi code killing that guy was ok in that instance. That dude literally left them with no choice but to kill him so Anakin took the chance to do it where he could grab the detonator without incident.
@@darthmalaguswhile I do agree with you on that one, worth acknowledging that Anakin did have the element of surprise, and likely could've just cut off the dude's hand to get the detonator. Though frankly I think that's a risky move and Anakin made the right call
@@darthmalagusYeah but technically Jedi should first try and disable the weapon (by cutting it), if that doesn’t work they should cut the hand, and only then should they resort to a stab through the chest (or decapitation if that isn’t possible). But disarming him by cutting the hand is a lot more risky so it’s understandable why Anakin didn’t.
anakin skywalker is without a doubt my favourite character of all time. his story and his downfall to the dark side was absolutely dope yet heartbreaking. from being a slave on tattoine, to having forbidden love with a senator, from being a master in clone wars, than becoming darth vader , the most feared sith throughout the whole galaxy. how could you not love this character? he’s powerful, charming, and is so driven. Hayden christensen played him perfectly and is without a doubt one of my favourite actors.
Anakin was just a very emotional person and the Jedi are about the absence of emotions because they thought it would drive you to the dark side but they were wrong, and that’s what Luke realized when he was rebuilding the order. He allowed all of the Jedi to forge their own paths, have relationships, wear whatever clothes they wanted, and even he himself got married.
@eric Spencer he’s Luke’s first student. They both still have a lot to learn. Luke only knows the good sides of the Jedi right now and hasn’t had enough time to sit and think about what he would change in the order
You shouldn’t expect the person who becomes Darth fucking Vader to be a reasonable nice person. That's not what the backstory of a genocidal tyrant should be when they have a dangerously violent temper. Darth Vader is NOT reasonable, he the same kind of guy who kills his own men for screwing up once or irritating once. In what part of your mind is Vader “fair” “reasonable” or “nice”? He’s not. Nor should his backstory be. It doesn't matter if it's justified or "went to far". All that matters is what drove him insane to begin with.
Gadget-Walkmen He was a reasonable and nice person. He was driven to this point for multiple reason that weren’t his own fault. Are we watching the same show?
@@MrKrabs-vi5jk that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying all the dark and evil stuff anakin does when he’s consumed by his emotions are supposed to be unjustified because overall too emotional to the point where he’s dangerous. That’s the whole point of his character. Anakin gets WORSE (morally) as a person overall to become Darth Vader. It’s the tragic story of how a war hero becomes a genocidal tryant.
@@Gadget-Walkmen well vader was better to his men then other generals in the empire. His men actually respected him cause he wouldn't send them to do something he wouldn't do himself.
@@Gadget-Walkmen I don’t think they were trying to say that Anakin was nice or reasonable, I think they were trying to say that the show did a great job at showing why he was feeling these emotions and lashing out.
@Selem Bradly but in the end he still needed to use the force to throw him on the table, that was the turning point, after that Clovis was too injured, but before Anakin wasnt really dominating, he was better but not dominating and it didnt seem as he would win the fight soon...
I love how during the entire series, these moments reminded me "Oh yeah the, hilarious, loving, fun, risk taking badass that is Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader" and in a way its kinda cool how you love him and they just remind you with these and it hurts
yup, just the Jedi council hoping Jedi don't put their personal feelings into keeping peace by sending two people that would 100% have personal feelings toward the situation
I love how his darkest moments are in protection of his family. Defending Padmes honor, avenging Obiwan, proving Ahsoka's innocence and saving her life. The horrible things he does in the movies have a flimsy backing at best, but this show reveals how he got to that point in a completely understandable and relatable way. He's not a monster, he's an out of touch father who gets carried away
I agree. The movies treat the dark side as a black and white (which is part of the appeal) however, most people are shades of grey, and our evil actions may be behind honorable intentions. Part of the reason why I like this show, it deals with the black and white (Maul is a great example), along with the shades of grey (Anakin is the example here).
The movies in my opinion do a decent enough of a job to show the road to hell aka the dark side was paved with good intentions on Anakin's part. In Episode II he avenged his mother's death by killing those who tortured and killed her(though he took it a step further by killing the women and children as well). He also stated that he wanted to be all powerful so he could stop people from dying. Which is also parallel with Episode III in regards to Padme and his children.
I've been rewatching the show recently and the music teacher in me is amazed at how subtly they use the Imperial March at times. It's so brilliantly done
Agreed. Especially in the fugitive Ashoka arc, the bland imperial/military aesthetic is just made better by perfectly integrated chunks of imperial March
to be honest sometimes they overdo it... like use different musics in similar fashion and when anakin REALLY acts like darth vader THEN mix imperial march. (as example when he sees his future its a perfect oppurtunity... not when he is furiously slashing his saber just because he is angry)
One thing I liked about this series was how it portrayed Anakin. Brave, Heroic and Loyal. But they also ensured that these qualities, while positive, also fueled his descent.
Yeah, and he’s much more charismatic. I like to imagine this anakin is the “true” representation within canon. I love when they use his voice in other stuff
Matthew Li exactly! He’s fundamentally a good person, but tainted by darkness. His fall from grace should be a sad, slow descent born out of good intentions, not the inevitable fate of some cocky jerk.
This anakin tries to save everyone but he is constantly reminded he cant always saved everyone , instead of throwing a fucking tantrum he takes it like a man and tries.anyways
my nephew never saw the prequels or the original trilogy but this was his favorite show he really liked Anakin and wanted to see him succeed everytime he did something evil during the show he was like "it's ok he'll stay a jedi he's just a little angry at times" so when he saw the original trilogy he had no idea Anakin was Vader, and when he heard "darth vader killed your father anakin" he almost cried and started to absolutely hate Vader so when he got to the "no i am your father" scene he was so confused he spent almost all of return of the jedi trying to piece together how Anakin could become vader and why so the ending scene with Anakin redeeming himself he started to really cry i had to cheer him up with ice cream and the fact that Anakin is now a good guy again
Haha! The same kinda thing happened to me. I watched this show before I saw the original trilogy. Everyone was talking about how Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are great. And even occasionally Obi Wan and Yoda. Anakin was my favorite character and I was confused why I don't often hear about him outside this show. I was shocked when I pieced together that Luke is actually Anakin's son, and Anakin is Darth Vader. It's so brilliant cause it's unexpected if you know Anakin before the original trilogy
Exactly, I can't blame him for being afraid and doing what HE thought was best for his family. Even though it turned him evil, I can't be upset with him for trying everything he could to save his wife. Any good man would do so much for their wives.
I love the fact that most of these have the imperial march in the background with slight alterations. It makes each moment a step towards him becoming Darth Vader
It's one thing I really enjoyed, the more like Vader he acted the more of the march you would hear, each little bit showing either how small of a step or how big of a step happened.
A lot of comments are saying that Anakin's anger is justified in this scenario or that scenario... that's kinda the point. Anakin's anger was justified but it kept getting worse and worse until it ended up consuming him.
Anger and violence tend to be self justifying. It is frighteningly easy to fall. Once you start with rational, reasonable justifications for wrong actions it gets easier to bend your morals a bit more next time. Until your definition of reasonable no longer matches what is right and good. In the real world, this is how evil people usually come to be.
@@dustinjones7458 Yes! Finally someone who understands that these traits are gradually developed over time and aren't just in-born characteristics of a person. I heard a prequel fan complain about the prequels because Anakin was "too whiny and didn't act like how a young Vader would." I think it's a a bit of a stupid complaint though because you can't just expect someone to be a cruel, calm, and collected person who's a master of focusing their anger their entire life(especially not in his younger years in the prequels).
Rather than teaching Anakin how to understand and control his emotions, the Jedi really only taught him to ignore them. There is a sharp distinction between righteous anger born from the urge to right a wrong, and hateful anger which seeks only to destroy and subjugate. Whenever Anakin couldn't conform to the strict dogma of feeling no anger, he became ostracized. "I'm not the Jedi I should be." The Jedi told him that he was broken, and they pushed him away.
It was so satisfying to see Anakin realize what he was to become, to finally have him understand what Palpatine and the War really meant. I really make me wish for some kind of "What if" scenario where we got to see him try and stop it from happening, even if he did fall to the dark side, seeing him try to stop himself from becoming Vader, stopping Palpatine's plan, would have been so interesting. And it would be so satisfying to see him succeed, to finally bring peace and get the life he always wanted with his wife and children.
Bro just had to leave the order as soon as he got news from Padme that she was pregnant, Literaly like “alright we’ll you’re a wealthy senator, I don’t need to be a Jedi financially but I can still be involved in military in my free time as a “independent advisor” and doesn’t mean I can’t be within the jedi community still” he gets to raise his children and gets to continue to stay in contact with the jedi and involved in the war
@@JotaroKujo-nj4bxProbably the only posible outcome where he doesn’t end up as Vader But it would requiere Anakin to change first, he wouldn’t back down from the war
Jason Spade Games Clovis: “Use your fists! Fight me like a man, without your Jedi tricks!” Anakin, who, unbeknownst to Clovis, literally has a metal arm: “GLADLY”
Clovis has too large of an ego, and no braincells. A killer combination. First, he tries to hit on a colleague. When she makes it clear that she DOES NOT want a relationship with him, he tries to forcibly kiss her. When Anakin comes, he provokes him. *Clovis CHALLENGES a JEDI WAR GENERAL with a METAL ARM and anger management issues to a fist fight...* How did he think it would turn out? Luckily he was a good sport in the end and didn’t snitch on Anakin, because Clovis started it in the first place and provoked him.
Something I’ve never noticed before: Ashoka seems to catch everything dark Anakin does. She’s wary and suspicious of him. And so when Vader and Ashoka face off, she wasn’t surprised that her former master had turned
I love the fact that then Anakins is using the dark side his fighting style changes. He use more brute force when he is using his anger. But when he uses the light he is more agile and use speed.
SΞVΞN17TΞΞN he is like a grey jedi but could not control the dark side and let it overwhelm and take over him. unlike ahsoka who was able to control her anger
I love how this shows no matter what Anakin does he was destined to fall to the dark side. Whether Asoka is innocent, whether obi wan dies or lives, his relationship with Padme. His emotions are to powerful for his own good. It’s great
He wasn’t predestined to fall. He originally has better intentions than anyone and is the purest, most selfless character we see. He was manipulated by a Sith Lord as a child and brought up in circumstances that made the Jedi look like they were responsible for the injustice. With Qui-Gon as his master he would have been the ultimate Light Side Jedi, free of the shortcomings of the Jedi Order, but far more in touch with the will of the Light Side of the Force for it.
I don’t think anyone is predestined to fall. Anakin’s decisions were ultimately his own, but he was manipulated by Palpatine and the Jedi certainly didn’t help. He had a lot of emotions and hadn’t been raised in the temple so he wasn’t used to just ignoring them (not to mention all that childhood trauma they just ignore) and while he was fiercely loyal to people (rather than ideals) and felt both joy and anger passionately, the Jedi constantly told him that acknowledging these emotions (which are what makes someone human) was a “path to the dark side.” Which is stupid. People get angry, and if you make someone bottle up all of their emotions all the time, that’s how you end up with an outburst like in AOTC where his mom dies and he just massacres a full on village. Not that that was okay, but if he had been taught how to actually handle strong emotions in a healthy way rather than just trying not to feel them (which was never going to work) I think he would have been able to better recognize Palpatine’s manipulation. Anakin never really belonged in the Jedi Order, and Palpatine used this to push him further towards the dark side. I I-Wan, though he genuinely loved Anakin, never really showed it in an attempt to not acknoledge his attatchments. He doesn’t tell Anakin he loved him until, well, you know. Too late. Because he couldn’t turn to the Jedi for help with his visions of Padmé’s death because a) he wasn’t supposed to be married in the first place and b) they would never understand (or at least, they’d pretend not to to follow to Jedi code). So that meant Anakin had no one to turn to or talk to while that was happening……except Palpatine. Palpatine used Anakin’s circumstances to his own benefit to turn Anakin to the dark side, and ultimately Anakin could not resist. Which is not to say that it isn’t his fault, since he’s the one who, you know, did it, but there were a very large number of factors involved in his descent into the dark side and I do not believe he was always predestined to be a villain. Villains aren’t born, they’re made.
I remember seeing a post about Anakin, how he inicially was a slave of the Hutt, then a slave of the Jedi Order, then a slave of the Sith, only to be set free by his son Luke. Anakin and Ahsoka are my favorite characters of the entire series
@@Dark6997 he should of never existed in the first place. hes a force-based articifical insemination, and birthed from a virgin woman. ofc only in death would he find peace. all BS aside i think kylo ren will meet anakins force ghost and turn good, while rey learns the truth of her own life as a descendent of palpatine OR another one of his virgin birth recreations(like anakin.) which would make sense why her parents left her, they were afraid of this weird force baby born without the sperm of a man and possessing weird powers.
I think it's a neat detail that when enraged, Akakin will do that thing where he smashes his sabre straight down against the opponent's until their guard breaks. Why? Because in ROTJ, that's exactly how Luke overwhelms Vader in his fit of anger.
If you notice, it's a move only a Skywalker can pull off because everyone who does it gets countered in some way. Quin Gon by Darth Maul, Obi soon after by Maul again, ect. While everytime Anakin does it he gets away with it because of his sheer power.
Clone wars was my introduction to the franchise and Anakin quickly became my favorite character. Too bad the prequels don’t do him as well and he’s doomed to be Vader
yeah also the dialogue implies anakin's counselling regarding the character's trauma and sense of justice 'struggled to put his past behind him' i don't know how this is supposed to be portrayed, but it does put me on anakin's side not a personal vendetta, but fury relating to trauma, to a horrible human rights violation, faced with platitudes by his kin
@@aiocafeai believe if the jedi order wasnt that hell bent on supressing emotions anakin wouldnt have turned. Teach him how to feel instead of telling him to put it away. Give him the tools to work through his past and not just leave it behind. Its a part of him and always will be.
*Ahem* He HAS a METAL HAAAAAND! *watching Clovis get the snot beat out of him* He also fights full on millitary engagements on a regular basis... so there's that too.
I don't think Clovis got the memo that Jedi are capable of precognition and Force induced physical augmentation (the Force makes them stronger and faster). Anakin using the Force push and choke was just utter convenience/overkill.
I mean, he was basically trying to rape her. She was telling him to stop but he kept going for it- Anakin had every right to beat the shit out of him even if Padme wasn't his wife.
You walk in your home one day and a guy is grabbing on your wife. Leaning in. You hear your wife say, Clovis! NO!” But he is still leaning in. I don’t know about you but I would beat the hell out of him.
@nualacha 8 I'm not saying women are property, but I'm saying if a guy is trying to kiss my girl with or without consent, I'd probably kick his ass too.
This makes him turning in episode 3 a bit more believable. Makes it seem like it was the tipping point. He already has a bad temper and over time, small things just built up until he snapped.
Yeah, the prequels themselves were absolutely terrible at portraying anakin and made him the worst character in SW history. But the clone wars redeemed that thankfully
@@zain6008 i wouldn't say the worst, they showed he had a darkness within him. I definitely prefer clone wars analin but they had a lot more time to flesh him out and show him being a hero. You kind of never have time to show that side of him in the prequels because their is so much going on.

@@anantachonnambat6701 Well Luke had some Dark Side tendencies, but he was good at heart, so he's the Force returning to its root. But I don't think he was completely a Jedi in RoTJ, because the knowledge, the dogmas and tradition were almost all lost in the Jedi Purge. So in a way, when Yoda died, the Jedi also died, and when Vader died, thou he did redeem himself by killing the Emperor, the Sith died aswell. The only people left in the galaxy are force sensitives, just like Leia was.

Yeah, the only thing he had over other sith was his cold hatred that drove him. He was driven by hate, anger and resentment for his old self, the angrier he got the more powerful he became. Anakin was supposed to be twice as powerful as Emperor Palpatine but the high ground happened and he fucked up lol
Shreyas Misra Your prediction wasn't that far off. Vader had 80% the abilities as Anakin apparently. Supposedly Vader was technically capable of force lighting and knew the technique, however because his suit is one massive lightning rod (Palpatines design) trying to perform it would kill him on the spot
@@minecraftWithDanielD Wrong. Vader had 80% of Palpatine's power. He lost quite a bit because he lost his limbs. According to Palpatine, Vader also had psychological problems, which caused him to not be as strong too. Anakin/Vader would have been two times stronger than Palpatine if he didn't lose his limbs.
It was honestly so cruel to make anakin think he lost his second master by faking obi wans death. Death has literally ruined him and your going to lie to him about that? No wonder he didn’t trust the Jedi.
See i think that was an example of a stupid plot in the Clone Wars. The show adds to Star Wars for the most part, but some of it would be better if it wasn’t in the canon.
@@NullAndVoid-ui9re The actual context is that it's a vision / Illusion scene where Yoda is on some sith homeworld and is trying to learn the secret of the force ghost and has to brave trials.
Anakin's voice actor in Clone Wars did the character a great justice. Especially in scenes where Anakin is angry or outright murder-fueled. Really gives Anakin's dark side a proper representation.
Clovis: *about to kiss Padme* Anakin: "so you have chosen death" Clovis: *challenges Anakin into a fist fight* Anakin: "so you have chosen slow and painful death"
@@wingedbluj1674 good point. So, don't hit on a lady that is resisting advances because she may be married to some battle-hardened prophetic space sorcerer. Does that make more sense?
@Duck Soup, someone should make an edit of the this scene where it pauses right after Anakin says that and have Samuel L. Jackson's voice saying those exact words about Clovis saying that.
Right!? This Anakin lines up wayyyyyy more than the Movie version. He's a gret pilot, Great Fighter, Strong Force User, Actually uses Vader's Style, and is similar to Qui-Gon. This series is what i think about when i think of the prequels
It would have been an interesting angle to have Anakin be a radical or revolutionary within the Jedi order rather than a lovesick drama queen. I think the Clone Wars gave a better insight of how he was ideologically different, being raised in slavery instead of by the Jedi and how he didn't take orders very well
I come back to this every once in awhile just to remind myself what Anakin could’ve been. He had so much hate, and it stemmed from his inability to protect what he loved, as many know. I honestly think he was just scared. So scared of losing everything he loved that he lost himself trying to be strong enough to defend them. In the end he was broken, disassembled even. Not just his body but his entire being. If he hadn’t became Vader then, he would’ve ended himself. In the end, that hate, or more accurately Vader, was all that was left. The longer you pay attention to the entire story, the more you realize that he was indeed the chosen one. He DID end up bringing balance to the force, through his love for his son. Unfortunately it took him becoming one of the coldest and most dangerous beings in their universe to do so.
I feel so sorry for Anakin. Even though technically his turn to the dark side is because of his lack of self-restraint, I believe that most people in Anakin's place would do the same... if not worse. I just wished that he could've had a better ending.
Anakin was saved from the dark side by his own son and became force ghost which I understand only can be done by the light side (ROTS novel). It wasn't a great for him ending but it was better than dying like a Sith Lord.
I mean he was trained since he was a child for so many years. Although I don’t blame him, if someone was chosen to become a Jedi since childhood, all these years of learning would make you a Jedi with good self control, anger management etc, Anakin was just one of a kind
the thing ultimately is that people aren't a monolith. anakin actively chose to be a terrible person. yes he was manipulated but that final choice was his... I'm sure a different person under the same circumstances would have made the right decision.
@@Ninawitme Anakin was young and kindhearted when the war stared. He faced death of friends and over time and because of that lost many of his restrains. The biggest blunder of the Jedi were to not pay enough attention to him. War brings the worst out of people. Living as a slave and beeing a young soldier just carried it's results. The only thing that Anakin knew at the end was anger and violence.
Capt. Badger Actually there is a rule saying that if your temple guard you only intervene when in combat meaning that if barrise attacked the guards they would fight but if you have two people in combat you don’t intervene
@@somerandomdude7417 Anakin should have too, but he didn't either. It was most likely a spur of the moment decision on Anakin's part fueled by adrenaline.
Tbh, the mortis scene, where he lifts the brother and sister, should’ve been included. The way he imposes his will upon them and forces them to kneel, is something straight outta the dark side play book. Plus, when the brother gets brought to his knees, you can hear vader breathe.
One of the things I really appreciated was Filoni showing that Anakin was always tempermental and hot headed. He showed that he always had darkness inside of him, giving his turn in Revenge Of The Sith more meaning.
@@Bebornagain12345 The Prequels always had a good concept but a subpar execution. Clone Wars took that same concept and really brought out it's full potential.
But Anakin helped Mira to give Ezra birth in the first day of Empire before He went on Mustafar to kill the Separatists including Nute Gunray and Poggle in the Revenge of the sith
Uhhh, what dark side? Anakin is infuriated by slavery, ruthlessly intimidates an enemy leader taken prisoner, fights for his marriage when another man makes a pass at his wife, successfully keeps their marriage secret, predicts Clovis’s betrayal, refuses to sacrifice his allies, wastes no time proving his Padawan’s innocence and turns sort of evil after literal Star Wars Satan hypnotizes him with a future prediction that only has a 50% chance of coming true! Anakin was bold and passionate, Palpatine turned him by encouraging his emotional outbursts, outbursts that were harshly punished by an arrogant Jedi Council that refused to give special treatment where it was absolutely needed!
Yes, but that was Anakin's decision to do... Yoda could've stopped many things if he wanted, but he appreciate the free will above all. He wanted for every being to do decisions on their own. If you force your decisions to the others, you are not a Jedi, you are a Sith(at least from Yoda's point of view). But i think that when you just watch something terrible happens to the people that can't deffend themselves, you are as bad, as the person who do it. Also the explanation, why Yoda didn't interfere could be that he thought that was just an illusion.
Oh my god, of course he killed him in ep. 3, this was just yoda's vision. And i tried to explain why Yoda didn't interrupt it. From my point of view, it was because of two reasons. 1. Maybe he knew it was an illusion. 2. It wasn't his decision to make(it was Anakin's).
This is why I love Anakin so much. He doesn't just turn to the dark side. He was a good man and great jedi. He became Vader slowly over time without anyone realizing it even himself until it was too late. ...Of Course til Luke pulls him back but still the most tragic character in Star Wars.

Not only that but aren't the clones just manufactured human slaves to begin with ? If they were gonna go through all that trouble they could've just banned slavery and earned some popularity among the masses. Even without Palpatine i can't help but feel the Republic would've just collapsed on itself anyway. It's clearly an inefficient corrupt state.
hakim daaloul the slave trade brings money, and I’m sure the republic was getting a pretty penny by allowing it to happen
Oh, literal slaves can he sold to a higher price.

I think Plo Koon or Qui-,Gon would be better at this, F for Qui-Gon
Obi-Wan was just there to add some style to the group😂
yup, just the Jedi council hoping Jedi don't put their personal feelings into keeping peace by sending two people that would 100% have personal feelings toward the situation
How is having your tortured mom dying in your arms "flimsy backing"?
Disney fans are a piece of shit. These dolls' adventures are just ads to sell more toys.

The innocence of a child is a special thing.

Yes. He has many RUclips accounts.
Do you know why everyone loves Anakin so much? Because he's real. His actions are what a real person would do if we were in his place.
Actions like genocide? He slaughtered an entire race as a teenager
Anakin is -what- how a normal person would act if given Jesus powers.

Yea i love this show for small touches like that. Truly legendary
Could even say it’s a slow _Imperial March~_ to becoming Darth Vader
Only If he had better people around him
Yup
It was so satisfying to see Anakin realize what he was to become, to finally have him understand what Palpatine and the War really meant. I really make me wish for some kind of "What if" scenario where we got to see him try and stop it from happening, even if he did fall to the dark side, seeing him try to stop himself from becoming Vader, stopping Palpatine's plan, would have been so interesting. And it would be so satisfying to see him succeed, to finally bring peace and get the life he always wanted with his wife and children.

If qui gon trained him he wouldnt have turned, confirmed by Dave Filoni
He wasn’t predestined to fall. He originally has better intentions than anyone and is the purest, most selfless character we see. He was manipulated by a Sith Lord as a child and brought up in circumstances that made the Jedi look like they were responsible for the injustice. With Qui-Gon as his master he would have been the ultimate Light Side Jedi, free of the shortcomings of the Jedi Order, but far more in touch with the will of the Light Side of the Force for it.
@@WarriorofSunlight 100% agree

Doesn't help that Palpatine used this to lure Anakin to the dark side.
See i think that was an example of a stupid plot in the Clone Wars. The show adds to Star Wars for the most part, but some of it would be better if it wasn’t in the canon.

Anakin's voice actor in Clone Wars did the character a great justice. Especially in scenes where Anakin is angry or outright murder-fueled. Really gives Anakin's dark side a proper representation.

Which is why the Jedi werent allowed to have wives or children. Emotional attachments can be used against force users and push them to the dark side.

I fucking love the foreshadowing in the clone wars.
Right!? This Anakin lines up wayyyyyy more than the Movie version. He's a gret pilot, Great Fighter, Strong Force User, Actually uses Vader's Style, and is similar to Qui-Gon. This series is what i think about when i think of the prequels
too bad he become hayden in ep 3 get over it
YES!!!!!!!!
Rafif The Second and shamefully, Disney made all of that sink down to south :(
It would have been an interesting angle to have Anakin be a radical or revolutionary within the Jedi order rather than a lovesick drama queen.
Not only that, he grew up as a slave, so that makes Anakin's fears even more understandable if we think about it.
I feel so sorry for Anakin. Even though technically his turn to the dark side is because of his lack of self-restraint, I believe that most people in Anakin's place would do the same... if not worse.
I just wished that he could've had a better ending.
He really needs a hug.
That old guy and the temple guards really just decided “Nah he’s got this” while he fought Barris
To be fair if he could’ve got Anakin killed by mistake and it wouldn’t look good if you stepped in and accidentally killed Anakin

@@Captainbadger123
You have 2 people in close combat, moving at random and high speeds. It would be extremely easy to miss and hit your ally.
Capt. Badger Actually there is a rule saying that if your temple guard you only intervene when in combat meaning that if barrise attacked the guards they would fight but if you have two people in combat you don’t intervene

People always say this, the Clone Wars perfected the prequels.
Personally, from watching episode 2, I think it is obvious that Anakin always had a lot of darkness in him.
Yoda: Skywalker, stop!
*chops head*
Yoda: Yup, I'm out!
ASMR-SENSEI wow what will happen to the kids
Yes, but that was Anakin's decision to do... Yoda could've stopped many things if he wanted, but he appreciate the free will above all. He wanted for every being to do decisions on their own. If you force your decisions to the others, you are not a Jedi, you are a Sith(at least from Yoda's point of view).
But i think that when you just watch something terrible happens to the people that can't deffend themselves, you are as bad, as the person who do it. Also the explanation, why Yoda didn't interfere could be that he thought that was just an illusion.
Lol didnt he kill him in episode 3???
Oh my god, of course he killed him in ep. 3, this was just yoda's vision. And i tried to explain why Yoda didn't interrupt it. From my point of view, it was because of two reasons.
1. Maybe he knew it was an illusion.
2. It wasn't his decision to make(it was Anakin's).
Jakub Longauer i have to admit... you truly have the highground
4:40 "What if I could show you the future?" FAINT VADER BREATH
That was genious.
And then he’s guilty about it later in the episode so he goes to the father and he removes that memory
