I love how Aabria does those camera pan moments that don't involve any of the PC's and just shows the audience and the actual players some intense shit.
Yeah, she knows this group won't metagame so she throws those things in there on the regular. In this case, it took until episode 2 to realize she was just using his own creepy-ass backstory.
And it’s great since this is a rare moment for Brennan where he does not know what is going on. His „I don’t hear that?“ is a wonderful mix of slight ’oh shit, panic‘ and genuine excitement.
@@RPG_Angie Brennan is a great player, because he elevates the DM's presentation by being both enthusiastic and interested in whatever they're saying, and by taking it seriously (while also allowing his enthusiasm to break into humour). He also knows what game he's in, and the kind of stuff he can get away with with the table he's at, something that's often put on DM's but that players don't spend enough time thinking about. (It does help he tends to play with his friends and people he's worked with for years lol).

Even though Brennan is originally from NYC it’s surprising how well he captured the “desolate Midwest” vibe with the introduction.
He volunteers at summer camps during the summer so he's probably spent a lot of time thinking about how homeless people could squat at them.
