Some unforgettable childhood memories were made on this beauty. Shame to see it go but more excited for the future of DM.
I only rode Apocalypse a couple of times back in 2019, but distinctly remember how scared I was waiting at the top, and how forceful the drop was. I definitely haven't gotten over my fear of drop towers yet, so maybe I need to start forcing myself on more in the future when the opportunity comes.
Not the guy giving middle fingers to the camera at 0:43 🤣
Great job! I have only visited Drayton Manor once (in 2002) and really enjoyed my few hours I was there. I rode each side of the tower. Dropping while standing (floorless) is terrifying as I have done that on at a few different ones. Standing with a floor seemed to be even more of an experience for me. Not exactly sure why. Thanks for sharing a final look at this one-of-a-kind drop tower.
I agree, standing with a floor packed the biggest punch, which was odd?
If you ever plan to revisit the UK do let me know! ☺️
@@coasterbot I sure will! I haven't been in over twenty years now. Long overdue.
If you want to ride the attraction again just go to Portaventura in Tarragona, Catalonia, it is the same but taller, faster and also standing seat, also same climing and the tilting
I was lucky to be able to work on the attention at the end of its live as a host. I'm gonna miss the ride massively. It was my first attention I ever got to work on
Sad to see it go but hopefully it means we see more developments at Drayton 🤞
It will become more of a kids park I think. Can't see them removing their most famous thrill ride to build more thrill rides.
I've never rode the Apocalypse, but it reminds me of the High Fall in Movie Park Germany. That one is really awesome! Also semi tilted, standing up without a floor. Definitely one of the best I've ridden
R.I.P a legendary ride
can't wait for the coaster coming in 2024 for the park
Me either!
R.I.P apocalypse
I was in that photo and will not just remind me of Apocalypse but also it was the day I came back from Florida
Despite living in the U.K., I’ve never been to Drayton manor or ridden apocalypse. I absolutely lovely coasters of all shapes and sizes but I’m not sure I could cope with this lol
Drayton Manor are opening a new roller coaster next year, it'll definitely be worth visiting for that!
@@coasterbot ah cool! I might give it a visit! Next year I’m going to six flags great adventure and cedar point. Can’t wait!
Hey that's awesome! I'm hoping to hit those two parks next year too 😀
@@coasterbot cool! I saw you went to Florida with Coaster Studios! I loved watching that vlog - made me want to go 🤣. I’ve never been before but would love to ride Mako, Iron Gwazi and the Surf Coaster!
i am very angry that this ride has gone and i am also angry that Dreamworld in Australias tower of terrer 2 has gone to wonderful rides
There is a rumour they are getting a Vekoma some sort, they do have a decent space to work with
Legend ride my favourite
We still have Hurakan Kondor at PortAventura World 😊
It had a great run.
Britain is on a mission to close its best rides.
these intamin drop towers pack a punch
and Ceder points top thrill Dragstar and El tolro
Is there any reason why it's closing?
I guess it is too thrilling, the rest of the park is way more "family friendly"
@@CuteNoririn So sad
@@CuteNoririn I like thrills
@@CuteNoririnor age might have got more expensive for parts than the ride was worth

Trust me bro
hi
say hi back
Hi
tabathy hello
rip
Wait....The Bikeseat thing is something special? I have been lied to me entire life, my first drop tower in Movie Park had those and I just figured its normal.
didn't know I could get sad that a ride closed that I've never been on nor even had the opportunity to ride
the teem park world is becoming to woke they got rid of Blacpools wondrfuil Wild mouse there fatting with Valhalha there doing things to Nemisies retracking it maybe that is ok but i hope they do not take the roar out
We were 1000 rider that day so sad
It's starting to look like drop towers are a dying species, although they provide some of the best thrills amongst all amusement rides. Really hope to see new drop tower additions around the world in the near future
Apocalypse is one of the best rides I’ve ever done. It was a horrible decision in my opinion to remove it. Also loved the Full unedited POV At the end, made me feel a lot better about the rides removal.
I couldn't agree more, it was such a great ride. I can understand why it's going but it really is a shame.
I thought seeing the drop from multiple angles might be a cool way to round off the video :)
@@coasterbot it was intact a great way to end the vid, and so can I understand why it’s gone but it’s really sad.
Gonna miss it
As a former member of staff at the park and a supervisor I know what’s coming to the space where Apocalypse and Pandemonium once stood. I’m under no NDA to discuss said ride but I feel it would ultimately dampen the reveal of the ride for the management at Drayton Manor. What I will say is it will be a unique experience for the Britain.
It's exciting to see Drayton Manor investing so much recently! By the new ride, I assume you mean the roller coaster that's heavily rumoured to be this: ruclips.net/video/a7zAaQ2vIok/видео.htmlsi=ylDNje9gx4NyhvNz
We know it's made by Intamin and park executives called it a 'lift and launch coaster', so this fits the bill!
4:57 jormungandr is a world serpent monster in norse mythology :]
That makes a lot of sense!
what a waste of a good ride they should move it to another park
The cost of repair and transport probably would be cheaper for a park to buy new
There’s a lot I didn’t know about this ride! I’m so sad we won’t get to ride it ever again, I hope other drop towers have these features in the future
i will never visit Drayton manner again
:(
Ill miss apocalypse, however i’ve always feared detonator more.
Congrats on conquering your fear of drop towers! 🎉 I’m not there yet lol 🙈
Great vlog shame it's gone
Thanks, it is a shame 😢
What a shame , thrill rides at Drayton disappearing fast 😢😢🧱👍🏼
