I've got the shorter 1 going on a 427 LS with 98mm turbo with big intercooler using 4" intake, its almost ready to assemble just waiting on Balancing its being built to make and take for 1400hp
in fairness, it's about as horrible down low as the Holley HiRam that's 950 bucks.... I'll spend 300 on descent china intake and spend the 600 on beer money or into other parts. I ran the Fitech version on my last 5.3 with 3.25 gears and 29x18 tires, I didn't miss the lack of tq one bit! 3600 stall solved that and instant boost of my 78/75 was pretty crazy on 17psi....and then there's the whole low torque bends rods on boosted 5.3, perhaps less torq bellow 5k is a blessing?
Well the Holley Low ram, yes, but the Hi-ram has pretty good low end TQ compared to these, but I greatly agree that on a budget boost build, these intakes are hard to beat for sure!
Yes, the TQ down low is really bad for sure. If a feller can keep a strong will power to not turn a boost knob up, a stock ls6 or truck manifold will do better from 5k rpm and lower.
Just bought one for my ls2, let’s see how it does. I’m expecting it to perform “alright”. I think it’ll atleast give me a 20-30hp gain like I’m looking for. I’m cammed stage 4. Howling to get some gains
@@Daniel240sx well I figured out that it didn’t fit under the hood. Also couldn’t figure out how to reroute all the lines. So I sold it and am looking for a lsx fast. If I can find someone installing it on a c6 corvette I will give it another try
Lol I wish I could, that would be fun! I can tell you right now though, on my small cube setup, the lsxr would have a much better mid range TQ curve and almost the exact same peak HP. I just wouldn't ever run boost through my LSXR
@@torqueracingproduction I seen the power and of each that brings everything in by 6500 depending on cam choice too. That ram is like 8000rpm. You got a cruiser, street/strip intake vs a mid to high end race intake.
I haven't seen much of a preference on injectors, seems everyone has their own idea which is better, but I used the Holly brand Pico/EV6 style, but if there is a manufacturer recommended style, I would stick to that and of course make sure to match the lbs/flow rating that you will require for your HP level.
@HALF-ACRE2014 lol yea you definitely mis-read that! I ran this intake a long time ago, but I didn't buy it new, I traded for it. The intake in the video was borrowed to do the video. So I've never bought a new one, therfore I don't have a link. However, a quick Google search will easily net you several places that sell these. Also the dbw tb that they were asking about, is something I've never used. I prefer an old fashioned physical cable pulled tb. So I don't have any links to those either.
@torqueracingproduction I'm glad you replied. Makes me feel better. I too wish mine was cable but unfortunately I have dbw. I think I'm going the tbss way. It's for my truck and I don't want to loose the lower rpm torque. Thank you for the videos.
No you can’t they don’t fit you need ls1 injectors got it on my Tahoe but your going to need the adapter ev1 to truck only one website has them about 80 bucks and you need the orange ls1 gaskets the ones they give you don’t work

Spent 6 months on mine. Never could get it right. 2 of the injector ports were ablong. Over all junk from my experience.
Compared to a fast or Holly, yes definitely.

I don't like the price tag. Especially after what you showed what happens with boost. I'd rather spend the 450. PLUS THEY LOOK SO FREAKING COOL!

What injector did you use,I think mine called for a EV1 injector ,Just wondering exactly what you guys would of used

Are they taller than the stock truck intake? 😦👀 I ls swapped my bmw and Tahoe truck intake won’t clear by like half an inch
That's a good question, I haven't measured them height wise, but I'd be willing to bet they are very close to the same.

@Emmanuel Alvarez I don't believe it will clear the hood, but I have seen this intake on several C6s but I haven't personally put one on a C6.

@HALF-ACRE2014 the trail blazer ss intake is highly slept on, and is a great budget intake that makes really good power. They are just hard to find.

Will this stick out of the hood requiring to cut the hood... I have a c5z06 and want a hi rise specifically for this reason
A hi-rise would be a better choice. I personally love the LSXr. It's unmatched in usable tq range.
