i love how his fills and embellishments are kind of linear - not too fast and gives the song a strange pulsating vibe. v nice

He plays to the song so well that its hard to even notice how bad ass he is when listening to the album. These drums videos are awesome
Wish he would post one of these for every Northlane song. This is my favorite of his playthroughs and he one of my favs ever. I watch this very regularly haha. The crack of his snare in this does something to me lol
This drum mix is a lot better than the drum mix on the actual song
I was about to comment the exact same thing. Drums on the track sound so flat and quiet, kick is inconsistent and the cymbals are inaudible over the bass and vocals.

I know I'm late, but Nic is pretty much the king of hooks. He's too good.
Still watching in 2016 and still makes me smile every time.
Seriously one of the most talented and creative prog metal drummers out there. His parts fit so well with the rest of the songs
I take creativity over Eric Moore chops any day. A lot of people can drum like Moore, but nobody can drum like Nic. His detail is unmatched.
So technically advanced. The amount of control you have over the kit is amazing!

I love all of Northlane's material with vocals but I think the music on it's own definitely appeals to me more. Great playthrough as well, and like others have said, you don't do what's unnecessary, you kept it simple and tight.

nice playing, dude. I don't play music for a living, but a quick tip in ergonomics... I'd lower those crashes a bit so your hand isn't above your heart. I did that myself and it relieved a lot of pain and unnecessary stress behind the kit.
