    Plus if in doubt, get out and look!
    Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, as long as you get that unit and trailer where they need to be, you've done your job 👌

    Bare in mind you've still got to leave enough space between trailers to drop your legs down. Glad your helping new drivers. Good stuff mate 👍

      If there are any older driver's with a drivers gut could be a bit tight..I've see them hooking up a container/fridge and have to leave enough room to connect suzies before 5th wheel 😂.

      I was thinking same thing - very tight squeeze for driver and legs cranking arm

    • @komakino666
      @komakino666 6 месяцев назад

      Its not something I'd advise doing all the time, but you can put the air all the way up, get out, drop legs, then reverse in, and lower trailer again, if the gaps too small to effectively crank your legs. Kind of like what shunters do
      Still gotta reach that park brake though xD

    I do this everyday when returning my tanker and i always park it between two other tankers..one day i park with 3 spaces and found it harder 😂.

    Good video, another tip when reversing in a place where there are lines painted on the floor like at an RDC, if you keep your trailer wheels as close to the inside of the line as possible then you shouldn't hit anything on the opposite side, if in doubt get out and look. Its a pity the drone footage didn't work.

      This was tight but at least there was quite a bit of space at the front to get a better angle. I can't imagine reversing with half the space there. It would be much harder. Especially to bring the cab around.

  • @Papermanic
    @Papermanic 10 месяцев назад +1

    There are acres of space here to reverse that in.
    You do not need space at the side of the trailer to wind the legs. Park up, pull forward, drop legs, lift cab, back in. Simple
    Is the cab is tight to the trailer, pull pin, trailer brake on, pull forward, disconnect susies, Simple.
    Risk involved in this is little to none. You may catch a buckle if you are slipping early.
    If you find it hard, then once you have done it, pull out and try again, and again and again. Practice, learn and move forward.
    If you were blind siding this then it would be risky not to get out half way to check, but its still a straughtforward job.
    Practice - Practice - Practice.
    When you get to the point of not thinking about what you are doing while doing it, then you will find you can slide one anywhere.

    nice driving that, straight in and not even a shunt forward. I've had my class1 all way back from 2006 never used it really, been driving class 2 mixers and last 8 years on big mobile concrete boom pump. Finally had enough of the boom pump its a real slogger and im brushing bk up on my class1 in-between doing class2 haulage work for agency. Im fine on the road, not a problem its the reversing just need a couple of hours on then im away, could risk it now but after seeing how tight some of the distribution yards are when I went out with someone, think more practice is needed. To be honest was astounded that they don't have any banksmen to safely watch that huge blind spot on your left side for you. Majority of accidents happen on loading bays yet they don't have anyone banking. Coming from construction background I know we moaned a bit on health safety stuff, but this really needs sorting out nationaly. Keep up the god driving :]

      Im a new driver. For example in the yard u have all the trailer facing one way. Some job sites have trailers that are parked sideways. And sometimes u have to park in spots on ur left hand side and park with the blind spot. If u can make a video on where u can explain things such as from what point to turn if u parking in a blind spot. And how to make the reversing as easy as possible for a new driver. Thanks 😊

    Made that more difficult than needed. I reverse into tighter spaces every day with less manoeuvring room.
    Had you kicked the cab to the right when finishing your positioning manoeuvre and then started to reverse it would have been so much easier.
