I believe him. It makes sence doesnt it? Hes studied in Europe basically grew up young and innocent then was dragged into this political.mess. this is like a family business. You dont change what they stand for that easily
He wasn't dragged into it, and he was never innocent. He had blood on his hands even as a small child, having his carers and nannies killed for not entertaining him enough. Kenji Fujimoto once dared to try and help Kim Jong-Un with a kite when Kim was a child, while the terrified nannies were crying and begging him to not go over to him, because they knew that if Kenji didn't get the kite to fly well, Kim wouldn't let him live. Luckily, the kite flew, and they remained friends to this day. But others weren't so lucky, especially those who appeared frightened in his presence. Other than that, I agree. It is a family business, and it's not easy to change it, even for the dictator. He would lose his power and luxury lifestyle in three weeks if he let go of his tight control of the population.
@kris wilkinson That's just ridiculous. It's just a generalization that states the obvious, but has no real world application. That's like saying, "Nobody wants to be poor." Does the statement justify the acts of someone who goes out and robs people at gunpoint?
lmao sub plzz Doesn’t make sense. They can go to plenty of better places if all they’re interested in is politics for one thing. And for another a lot of his guests aren’t tied to politics.
Killer Glock, do a search on whataboutism. It's the logical fallacy you're using here, and has been a deliberate political propaganda strategy for a long time. Perfected by the soviet union. Just because our government has done bad things does not mean we cannot point out when others do it. Nor does it make it right. We should point out both and condemn both.
That's the thing. North Korea usually tricks outsiders by only showing them the capital Pyongyang which is the wealthiest city in the country. Pyongyang's residents are mostly consisted of party officials and their family living way better thant the average condition of North Koreans. Some foreigners seeing this are misled to thinking "Hey, this isn't so bad after all. Maybe western media were portraying it the wrong way." However, where you get out of Pyongyang and go to countryside, you will probably meet a medieval time capsule.
aplantagereloaded I hope you meant for all of us. "A little good for all of us" rather "A little good for none of us" Rodman has done what no administration didn't want to do before him. Americans dislike him because all the vets killed in the Korean War. But let me tell you something. It's not Rodman's fault or Kim's fault. The American government can solve this by a dual nuclear armistance. But it doesn't want to. The whole point of the American policy is to invade again North Korea.
Patrice Maxwell Rodman seems to be a cool guy. He's real. Most folks are fake as hell. Plus he's not interested in war, but peace. I see nothing wrong there. He's misunderstood, but I can guarantee you that we get the wrong view of other countries based off our crooked politicians. They want us to think other countries are sooooo bad. I just don't buy it.
for what it's worth, Joe Rogan recently had a guest on who knows Rodman very well and he said the truth is Rodman, for better or worse, is very naive when it comes to human beings getting along, it's not an act, but genuinely believes he can have a positive effect even if it's not clear exactly how.
Maybe we need a little naivety. Keeping Un Locked away with his brutal nobility and worshipers is bound to push him farther into a mad dictator mindset no matter how evil (or as Rodman claims, decent) he is right now.
He isn't naive. He has first hand experience in both countries, which makes him one of the only ppl in the world of his kind. He's speaking from an informed, first hand basis standpoint. We, the spectators, don't believe his simple take on it because it doesn't match the complex take we've been told by people that also don't have his first hand experience.
Literally everyone who's met some of the worst dictators in history have said they were nice guys. Mugabe, Hitler, Gadaffi, they're all sociopathic, egotistical and charismatic. North Korea pathologically lie to its people and someone as naive as Rodman would be prone to their manipulation.
Rodman is mainly the greatest rebounder ever in the NBA which takes a lot of athleticism and thirst. Also member of one of the best teams possibly ever existed, playing next to Jordan, Pippen and Tony Kukoc
fwinterzlodig152 that’s what Colbert should’ve spoken to him about “what do u think the similarities between Kim and Donald r since u have spent time with both” - wasted opportunity.
Lowkey didn’t like how much Stephen tried to make Dennis seem like a trash human being but he was just being real and kept his composure which I’m glad he did. He quickly had a response for everything Stephen said and you could tell he didn’t like that
Wow I really don't know much about Dennis, but considering what he is even trying to do, how can anybody act this silly. Everybody wants peace. So disrespectful, Stephen. Very disappointed!
So beautiful that someone like Rodman ends up in this position. Sports and entertainment create bridges where there were none. Ppl Pre-judge others based on hearsay and politics. Like Ali said about Vietnam, “they never called me nigga”.
This is the first time I've been disappointed in Stephen Colbert. He was patronising, dismissive and missed a great opportunity. Communication is how we change the world, regardless of who we're talking too.
I feel getting the Nobel Peace Prize for fucking 14 year old girls, basking in the sun in luxury mansions and partying with one of the worst dictators of all time and his harem of little girls isn't really what the price is for...
Every time I see pictures of them together I can't wrap my head around how bizarre that relationship is... and I'm sure Dennis knows Kim is a lunatic but he knows the Koreans see all his public appearances and Dennis doesn't want to ruin their relationship so he doesn't talk him down
Wow, how insightful! I bet the family of Otto Warmbier,(*you know! the college student who was accused of stealing poster at a hotel in North Korea, convicted within the week by a bias judge, sent to prison and stayed there without any contact from the outside world for 2 years until he was suddenly released, but in a traumatic coma that lead to his death shortly after arriving back to the US*) would LOVE to hear from this guy about Kim Jong-un who is just misunderstood and the North Korean regime has never committed any horrible acts of inhumane punishments towards prisoners. I bet that would go over splendidly.
I had a colleague who regularly interacted with the Chicago Bulls... club manager in Chicago.... during the 90s. He said that Jordan and Pippen would walk in first... Jordan, cigar in hand with a brief wave before proceeding onto the VIP room - Pippen head down, not trying to catch anyones eye.... and then Rodman would walk in. He would give props to 8-9 people in the bar, buy everyone a drink, and have conversations with my colleague and people at the bar, aaking abput their lives and what they did for work etc. My colleague, a guy I trust, always swore by Rodman, saying that he had a heart of gold and would literally talk to anybody around him like a normal human being. He said that he just went a bit crazy from the partying and stuff
You can tell Rodman is trying to answer in the most moderate way possible without pissing either side off.

it's makes him look like Jar Jar binks
R u guys 4 real? 4 get his. This freak is a walking dead future costar
Charmander Charmander 😂🤣
AAAAAH why did you make me see that? Yikes! that is... REALLY unsettling....
The look on Colbert's face when buddy is going to sit down is a legitimate teeth-clenched grimace.
so true
He was regretting all his decisions in that moment 😂 but what a weird guy, to come out in sunglasses and a tshirt with a lollipop
Dennis has zero percent access to government intelligence. The only person hes a threat to is himself.
That's not really the point though, I'm pretty sure Colbert's face is a reaction to the shirt- and believe me that shirt could make anybody grimace regardless of who wears it and what intelligence they have.
Its funny how the approach of being angry and fighting everything and never forgiving doesnt work but Dennis's way does.
Hahaha I paused the vid 28 seconds in to write this but I can tell Stephen is like, "Here we go."
The look on his face is priceless
Man all these questions you askin lol. You know he ain't lookin into all that! He worried about not getting murdered! 😂
Marquis Blue haha aint nobody trynna get murdered up in ere
you know that something is wrong with the world when crazy rodman has more common sense than the potus.
MrSchmolko 😂😂
This is exactly why Stephen's show will always be second rate.
How can anyone like Colbert? God he is so salty
dennis rodman, for al hi bells and whistles, is right
no side wants war, peace is always better.
blessed are the peacemakers
You must be high...
@kris wilkinson That's just ridiculous. It's just a generalization that states the obvious, but has no real world application. That's like saying, "Nobody wants to be poor." Does the statement justify the acts of someone who goes out and robs people at gunpoint?
Dude I love Dennis, lol.
Steven said "Reports are he murdered his uncle & fed him to the dogs"
"Oh he did ?" Lmao
I saw the first time Rodman went over with VICE news. I applause his bravery. If Kim Jong-Un likes 1 American, perhaps he can see humanity.
I straight thought the light reflecting off his glasses Was his eyes 🤣🤣
Is it just me or is Stephen Colbert not funny. Like at all.....
T J He’s got one of the most popular shows on American television so I’d say it must be you and your poor taste in humor.
his comedy is pretty dry, I have a feeling that people only find it spicy and edgy because of political angle
lmao sub plzz Doesn’t make sense. They can go to plenty of better places if all they’re interested in is politics for one thing. And for another a lot of his guests aren’t tied to politics.
just you
He is a douchebag..
The black delegation would like to trade Dennis Rodman for a bag of lays sour cream.
Goddammit I miss that show.
Where is this from? lol
Chappelle's Show ;)
Dam
Lmao so funny
The sun must be very bright in the studio today
Jay
Or Rodman may need to protect his eyes
We don't know the condition of his health and it's none of our business.
The power of sports...Rodman doing something diplomats should have done...I'm sure he was debriefed by CIA but we'll never know
Dennis Rodman is more real than all these talk show host!💯💯💯
This is the person responsible for this summit.
Dennis Rodman is officially the strangest Pokemon I've ever seen
He acts like he doesn't know what Kim has done to people
not his job too.
Maybe western media were portraying it the wrong way." However, where you get out of Pyongyang and go to countryside, you will probably meet a medieval time capsule.
wow so you want war so badly that you gonna demean your own guy? And you call Kim jung un a Madman?
how would we know? american propaganda is no different from nk propaganda.
Bizarre beyond words. In globalized celebrity culture everything is possible, but very little good seems to come of it.
aplantagereloaded
Very little good for whom?
A lil good's always better than lots of bad shit.
For none of us.
Right. If Trump and Kim Jong-un blow up the world, at least we got a little entertainment out of it because Rodman told us about it on a talk show.
aplantagereloaded
I hope you meant for all of us.
"A little good for all of us" rather "A little good for none of us"
Rodman has done what no administration didn't want to do before him.
Americans dislike him because all the vets killed in the Korean War.
But let me tell you something.
It's not Rodman's fault or Kim's fault.
The American government can solve this by a dual nuclear armistance.
But it doesn't want to.
The whole point of the American policy is to invade again North Korea.
Rodman is pretty wise. That was a really good message.
Rodman's got the best kind of mentality for helping this situation out.
Omg this just blew my mind. Somehow...i agree with Dennis Rodman. Wth?!
Patrice Maxwell
Rodman seems to be a cool guy.
Patrice Maxwell he has a point
We should ignore the horrific human right violations and treat Kim like our buddy?
+John Do should you hate your friends and family if I hate your friends and family
for what it's worth, Joe Rogan recently had a guest on who knows Rodman very well and he said the truth is Rodman, for better or worse, is very naive when it comes to human beings getting along, it's not an act, but genuinely believes he can have a positive effect even if it's not clear exactly how.
I heard that too. The guest put it kindly, Rodman means well but he's "naive".
It was Billy Corgan, Lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins
Literally everyone who's met some of the worst dictators in history have said they were nice guys. Mugabe, Hitler, Gadaffi, they're all sociopathic, egotistical and charismatic. North Korea pathologically lie to its people and someone as naive as Rodman would be prone to their manipulation.
Two minutes in and I just noticed his fingers.
I didn't noticed until I read this comment lol at 4:00
drugs fuck you up
It freaking happened Thank You Trump and Rodman !!! Eat it Colbert
barf
We thought 😂
I like Rodman, he is down to earth
Rodman is mainly the greatest rebounder ever in the NBA which takes a lot of athleticism and thirst. Also member of one of the best teams possibly ever existed, playing next to Jordan, Pippen and Tony Kukoc
Watching this video now after current events. Dennis Rodman is a prophet.
What in the world are you talking about? -Eric Andre
-Man speaking in Arabic-
“Are you putting a curse on me?”
This NBA legend has a good heart.
Good interview. Legendary stuff
Dennis Rodman also knows Trump well. He was huge on the apprentice
fwinterzlodig152 that’s what Colbert should’ve spoken to him about “what do u think the similarities between Kim and Donald r since u have spent time with both” - wasted opportunity.
I love Dennis Rodman so much
This is so random haha
its not really that random. Kim Jung Un loves American basketball
Matt Hughes 223*
I admire how Dennis Rodman answers. He's very respectful towards KJU and how they have an okay relationship.
Whose laughing tonight Colbert?
What exactly came of it?!
Trump failed.
We're all laughing at you.
@@JJ-te2pi he is the first president to ever get a meeting with Kim. world peace isnt done in a day.
@@elmortobeats5919 yes he made so much progress!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but... Wtf is wrong with him?
"Wtf is wrong with him?" He's mentally ill from childhood abuse, and was when he played. As mentally ill guys go, he talks a good talk here.
Wilt Chamberlain is better
Lowkey didn’t like how much Stephen tried to make Dennis seem like a trash human being but he was just being real and kept his composure which I’m glad he did. He quickly had a response for everything Stephen said and you could tell he didn’t like that
Dennis is from the American streets. The boys in the hood are always hard. I ain't going to hate on him.
What does hard mean? Clarify please
Adrian Chye you wouldnt understand
Fair enough, but we will never know if we don't give it our best shot. Your move, friend
The reflections on his sunglasses make him look like a ninja turtle! lol!
Wow I really don't know much about Dennis, but considering what he is even trying to do, how can anybody act this silly. Everybody wants peace. So disrespectful, Stephen. Very disappointed!
Dennis Rodman is a work of art
So was this an ad for potcoin?
Salvador Garcia it is 16% up today so I guess yeah.. Sorta ;^)
Salvador Garcia yep
Nobody goes on a late night show without something to promote, and Potcoin is Dennis' gravytrain right now.
No....that shirt is so clean so it’s a tide ad
Mekmek35 I lmao I enjoyed that one
who would have thought dennis rodman is actually a prophet
I love how Dennis changes the subject & hands him a pot coin t shirt lol
So beautiful that someone like Rodman ends up in this position. Sports and entertainment create bridges where there were none. Ppl Pre-judge others based on hearsay and politics. Like Ali said about Vietnam, “they never called me nigga”.
but who can we trust? Trump,Kim or Rodman... tough call! I believe we are fucked xD
It's unforanate we didn't get to hear about kim from rodman and instead was just forced to listen to Steven slander NK all interview.
Berserked Guts Stephen*
Berserked Guts.. Slander? Do you know what that word means?
Oh boy...
Dennis is so bright and genuine, love this guy!
This is the first time I've been disappointed in Stephen Colbert. He was patronising, dismissive and missed a great opportunity. Communication is how we change the world, regardless of who we're talking too.
They playing "Rush hour" on a whole other level
Dennis Rodman has my Respect!
I been reading up on what Rodman been doing about North Korea Rodman should get a Noble prizes 🏆 🎆 🐐 Basketball saved the world from a Nuclear war
WOW, Ask a person 10 years ago if they thought Dennis Rodman would be in the running for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I feel getting the Nobel Peace Prize for fucking 14 year old girls, basking in the sun in luxury mansions and partying with one of the worst dictators of all time and his harem of little girls isn't really what the price is for...
Every time I see pictures of them together I can't wrap my head around how bizarre that relationship is... and I'm sure Dennis knows Kim is a lunatic but he knows the Koreans see all his public appearances and Dennis doesn't want to ruin their relationship so he doesn't talk him down
Keeping aside his madness he was the greatest defender and rebounder of all time
sometimes resolving issues takes baby steps
and most people don't consider him smart but dennis already has that knowledge
I like what Mr Rodman had to say. It would be good if everyone had as forgiving and open an attitude as he has.
like it or not, Dennis Rodman has waaaay better diplomacy skill than dotard trump
I bet that would go over splendidly.
he's got such a big heart!
