    please know that "tame" doesn't mean the same thing as it does to others. She's tame in that she allows him on her back (a massive feat!!) but she doesn't instantly become an obedient and well mannered horse in 3 hours. That is something that can take months. What this gaucho has done is extremely impressive!

      @Hannah Horres Join up is a joke. Pushing a frightened horse, it reacting to the pushing, and then pushing it some more as a punishment for reacting isn't harmonious training. There's no partnership here. He mounts "no problem" because the mare is over-stimulated, heavily pregnant, mentally shutting down, in a small enclosed space and he keeps her spinning so she can't gain speed. That's a lot of problems right there.

      actually in the south of Argentina and Chile do not put them in small stables nor tie them,, like the Europeans or most of the Americans, in general the horse has all the space he wants or needs in a huge open space and then you just look for him or call him when you need to ride or to give him food, besides that in the meadow they usually live with a herd not alone. That place is "Estancia El Condor" there are fences but like huge ones with space of several hectares.

    Gaucho is not only the citizens from Argentina. We exist in Uruguay, Paraguay and South of Brazil (state of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná). This video shows the "Doma Racional" (Rational Taming), but there is also another ancestral taming called "Traditional", where the horse is ridden since the beginning until it calms down and accept the ride. This is called "Gineteada" and is a competition made in rodeos, where the rider must stay mounted on horseback for 8 seconds without falling to the ground (no harm to the animal is done).
    As people of a cultural manifestation we are very proud of being Gaúchos.

      Or months, Warwick Schiller is my favorite trainer. He's had stallions that were outright attacking him and in a few months, note: Still not ridden, he was quiet when Warwick put him through his paces on desensitization and groundwork on how important it was.

      Feral horses can be broken in a few hours with this kind of horsemanship technique. Not fully trained but rideable with an experienced horse person. I've seen it done with my own eyes many times.

      Liuhuayue a lot of the time wild horses don’t live long at all and often times fall ill and live in pain. Whereas if they’re treated properly and tamed they live a longer happier life. I think we tend to too often humanize animals.

    It doesn't take just 3 hrs to go from a wild horse to one that's somewhat rideable. You can't rush horses that quickly. If you do then they'll usually shut down to comply with the session to get it over with, but then you're back at square 1 the next day. Everyone has a different training method that works for them and that's great, but anyone in the equine community can tell you rushing a horse that quickly only ends up with someone getting hurt.

      I use a combination of Buck's method, Clinton Anderson's method, and operant conditioning with positive reinforcement for my training of certified equine assisted therapy and show horses. Both Buck and Clinton say it takes more than one session to successfully train or "tame" a horse. Both trainers have also explained, both in their clinics\tours and Road to the Horse, that horses need more than just a couple lessons and need consistency to efficiently learn behaviors, build respect, establish a positive relationship, and not have the horse mentally shut down during the session.😊

    • @SwitchingReins
      @SwitchingReins 6 лет назад +21

      I don't think the narrator was implying that the horse was a totally trained schooling pony. Just that people, or at least that guy, can touch it. If you have ever watched a colt starting challenge you'd know most horses can be broke to ride in an afternoon. That just means they can be sat on and steered around. Not that they'll never buck again, or know more than the very basics. Clinton is the king of shutting down horses. I don't get why anyone would use him if they want a positive relationship with their horse.

    That's a pregnant mare..I'm sure the stress on the foal and mare could not be good. This is a cleaned up version of what happened. Probably better than most other trainers but hard on the horse since they had to run the herd down and capture her. I'm sure that wasn't pretty.

    • @greencat1314
      @greencat1314 6 лет назад +15

      Rere West Its probably their herd of horses just *living* wild. There is no way to put a rope halter on a real wild horse and lead it away from the herd like shown in the video. If a horse really lived wild it's whole life you won't even be able to pet it properly after just three ours.
