    Wow. I was going to put in a $500 order but changed my mind after seeing this. The plants are so small. I have imported from other companies with larger specimens. Smaller specimens usually don’t make it.

    Everyone I've seen import from Asia has said the tissue smelt funny so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I don't think I've seen anyone really do an update on the plants so that was great. I'm definitely gonna stick to domestic shopping tho, I already spend enough on that without phyto certs or huge shipping costs! 😆
    Urgh I'm so glad you won the pest war. I've tried so much I'm now down to trying all out (natural) warfare, the last straw was gnats so bad they where in every pot and started killing plants! Rip Schumi Red! And I spotted some unidentified mites in the soil of a couple of pots, so I ordered some predatory mites! It's been just shy of a week but things seem less active...maybe?
    Make sure you are scheduling in some rest time to just relax and look after yourself. It really has been a difficult year and winter is going to be tough.
    I thought I was doing well and handling things but realised I was ignoring a lot because I couldn't do anything about them and they were stressing me out so much. As soon as I realised, it all piled up like a car wreck and I spent the week fighting off panic attacks. I ended up spending a day entirely different, got outside, social distanced doorstep visited a friend so I could drop of some gifts and catch up for a few, spent some time with family just hanging out, cooking some comfort food, planting up some plants with my niece etc. Even tho nothing has been taken away from my pile and a bunch of big things keep getting added, it helped reset and calm me down so much just to have that one day and I feel so much more able to manage things. Anyhoo I don't even work or have half as busy a life as you or a lot of folk so if it's getting up on me so easy I can only imagine how tough it is for you, so make sure you are trying to get in some quality rest, even if it's long bath with bubbles or a lil extra time out to play with your pets etc. (I don't want to come across bossy or owt, just I know first hand burnout and busted mental health sucks and I care if you are ok)
    Oh I must show you my sansevieria collection now! I'll message you on Instagram with a photo of it, I got the cutest little whale fin! x

      AH DANG! I forgot to mention the smell! Yes! It was so strong! What ever it is, it's not good for the plants
      I need to get better about self-care for sure! I have been feeling so overwhelmed 😪 You're right, winter is going to be rough 😔
      Yes, please send pics! You know I love whale fins!

    Girl, that verrucossum is gorgeous! 😍
    Maybe the mosspole helped to get that big leaf. My phil bipennipfolium was a baby but since I put it on a moss pole the leaves got huge!
    P.s - what is the eyeliner that you are using? 😉

  • @RootingMindfully
    @RootingMindfully 4 года назад

    Your plants looked like they suffered from cold damage, which kinda makes sense because we did have that cold snap. I talked to a customer service agent from greenspacesid and he said that they did use a different spray because of the virus. I think you would have had a better experience if they were shipped during a warmer period and obviously without the spray implemented because of the virus.

    Sad to see not all made it, how long did the package take to get to you from Indonesia? To me it looks like the plants were exposed to too low temperatures for too long, most of them can't handle temperatures under 50/40F for some time. Thanks for sharing and hope for you they will bounce back. Love the Verrucosum 😍

    • @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee
      @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee  4 года назад +1

      About 5 days, so not too long. I think it has something to do with what they spray the plants with when they get to the states?

    Omg love the stickers. So sad about your plants 😕 I’m trying to remember who’s import review it was but they completely submerged their plants in water to remove the chemicals that they could. Afterwards they put them in a vase of water like you did for a few days. I remember her saying she could smell whatever was sprayed on them.

    • @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee
      @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee  4 года назад

    Is it possible that you’re repotting too quickly? I keep my imports in water for 4 weeks, under grow lights when they arrive, to give them a chance to rest and heal.

    • @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee
      @PeacefulPlanting-Sydnee  4 года назад

      They died before I potted them (while they were in water) 🥺 I think they're spraying something on them when they get to the states 😕

    Really informative, i just don't get why they take the plants out of their soil, what stresses them already way to much and send the plants in Toilet paper? Why pelase why? just take moss or let them in the soil
