Your the man! i only wish that this video was in a an actual ring. BUT you made it feel that way so hats off to you . I love the Video. These are the basics that can make any boxer great
Newman was on hand Tuesday for Tyson’s open training session at Howard University’s steamy Burr Gymnasium. Tyson sparred briefly with his trainer, Jeff Fenech, before addressing the media.
If you type in Tyson sparring, it is Mr.Fenech. But I'm more than 90% it was Mr.Fenech, he was in his corner and was the "primary trainer". I'll try to dig up the video for you to see, maybe I'm wrong though. But I have these videos memorized by heart.
I think he was Mike's trainer for a couple fights. He's definitely one of Mike's acquaintances (I remember reading an interview with Fenech where he said so.
Got it, I knew my memory was accurate on this one. It was after all Jeff. If one googles "And for Now, in Tyson's Corner, It's Jeff Fenech" he did work with him for some.
He was also Mike Tyson's trainer for his last fight... Look at the section right under Tyson's picture..it says Trainers...last name is Jeff Fenech, with 2005...the year of the McBride fight.
oh, u can also do the crab shell defense when transitioning out of the phli-style shell, since the phili-style is slightly vulnerable to the head shots, when ur exitiing the upclose clinch. but it is hard to move from the normal defense directly to crab shell defence.
I believe this is the same gentleman who worked with Mike Tyson in his latter career. From what I understand hes a close friend to mike. Hes also the trainer that stopped the on of the last fights tyson had, he was screaming something along the lines when mike was getting hurt." I'm the fuckin trainer, and I'm stopping this fight".
They laughed when I told them I was going to get ripped with "Smashing Ripped X", but then they saw the results. Do a search on Google for Smashing Ripped X to see their reaction. (It was epic!)
+BRAD LYON calm down bro lmao.. you gotta spar if you really wanna learn how to fight, cause they can make you do pad work and you can hit the bags and workout all the time but if you have no fighting experience you'll be in trouble
sorry, I tried to post a link but youtube won't let me...if you go on boxrec you can go to Mike Tyson's page, it has the information I was referencing in my last post.
Not to take anything away' but to choreograph a fight demonstration is showing the expected results of an opponent who cooperates with you dancing in tune to you. But if your fighting just a slugger with out the technique of say a boxer, he'll be so unorthodox and unpredictable it's gonna throw you for a looper. But I commend your technique for ring fighting a boxer. Likewise I was a boxer way back in the 70's Not for long & I moved on. But about 10 years ago I was found to be diabetic, heart troubled, high blood pressure etc;; I was in for a routine check up about 3 years ago I was 59 & my doctor told me I had to loose fifty pounds or be buried in the ground. I thought why not return to boxing & so I did' only now the kids were too young & then someone told me to try the MMA clubs as they were looking for sparring partners. They fought professionally at the casino's. I explained to them I was not a kick fighter & no sweat they said they'ed beet me with out the feet. However they boasted they could not defeat my hands. Well they got real agitated & would not fight me with out the feet anymore as they complained I was cramping their style. I said OK then kick & did they ever, They kicked me low & dirty, tried breaking my legs & knees, tripped & scooped me off my feet onto my ass & kicked the dog out of me while I was down. I quit fer about three months training watching every video on MMA, Karate kicks, Defense & offense tactics & developed my own style to defeat the feet with my new technique. It works & I returned & destroyed every kick they tried delivering. Check me out on youtube under Dave Overbey I'm not a kick fighter, but! My style crosses with sword fighting the hands over looping & snaking around his & bull fighting, scoop & swoop, tornado blaster whips, hammer slammers, elbow bash n smash, paddle wheel smack & slap, face paint brushing, under & over side head smacking n slapping. It's all centrifugal force, speed & power. I'm 62 now going on 32 & with just moderate daily training it's like restoring my youth & health. By going slow & easy the power & speed comes naturally, I conform habits into a reflex & a habit is once you have it your stuck with it. If it's right or wrong your going to have it stuck on. I use less energy now & fight so much easier than I ever did. I fight smarter not harder. All my moves are purposed & coordinate with my habits into a reflex which is a thoughtless reaction to every action. I see you know your boxing, slip n jabing, feet dancing bobbing & weaving, But you should be prepared to fight anybody that fights to another tune. I'm not here trying to teach you your game but rather to prepare you for the other guy's game. Kick fighting is not superior less your unprepared to handle those kick or defend yourself to them. My style is protection & destruction. Boxing is superior on reflex as opposed to robotic impact' unless your not prepared to fight against those fighting under the belt! In the real world there is no fair fights. If kick fighter hate me, I can't say I blame them. LOL To me, kicking is still for girls. Go to youtube Type Dave Overbey fight & defend & see over a hundred & thirty video's some better than others & not to say I have it all together I'm just opposed to club fighters using others for personal benefit as punching bags. It's not about the muscle hustle as so much is the muscle memory & leverage. Watch Dave Overbey on RUclips fight & defend. It's awesome! If you like them give me a thumbs up & I'm always open to learn anything you might have to offer on advice. Thanks for your training video I watched & a thumbs up to you.
Dave Overbey I've just seen a few videos and I'm sorry to say they won't work buddy. Maybe great that it gets you on your feet and great for body, but please don't say you can beat boxers and kick boxers you could get hurt if you was to seriously believe. Peace ✌️️✌️️
Float like a butterfly sting like a bee, his hands cant hit what his eyes cant see-RIP Muhammad Ali The Greatest of All Time!!!!!!!

Fenech was a great fighter, a real warrior and a gentleman, met him in vegas in the 90s really polite but still had that look in his eye
Your the man! i only wish that this video was in a an actual ring. BUT you made it feel that way so hats off to you . I love the Video. These are the basics that can make any boxer great

Best boxing training video on the Web.
In March 2005, Fenech became the trainer for former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, in an effort to relaunch Tyson's career
he became Mike's trainer in march 2005. he was with Mike when he fought Kevin McBride
I'm afaid he was Mike's trainer. Tyson sparred briefly with his trainer, Jeff Fenech, before addressing the media. Look it up online
Yes he was!

I see alot of comments, Fenech was a 4 time world champ he knows what he's talking about.
He was also Mike Tyson's trainer for his last fight... Look at the section right under Tyson's picture..it says Trainers...last name is Jeff Fenech, with 2005...the year of the McBride fight.

Whats the name of the original youtube channel?
keep presuring and let them keep running, they will tire themselves out, their guard starts to drop, slower movement etc from fatigue.
Yes he did train Tyson - Fenech trained Tyson for the Kevin McBride fight
That's how it goes sometimes. A lot of trainers only know the basics.
Yeah , he's Jeff Fenech and he was one if the last Tyson's trainer .
good lesson its look like he had practice and experience
Адилет Бейшенов He does actually. Look up Jeff fenech
He’s a three time world champ
He is right! Defend you opponent, then make him a pie and a cup of green tea, like Chinese martial artists do :D Thats where respect is born!

I´m afraid he wasn´t Mike´s trainer. He´s Jeff Fenech, an Australian Bantam-Featherweight-Champion.
In a way Jeff was a real pressure-fighter.

@jasonarmstrong1982 the closest Tyson came to fighting a guy like Ali was Buster Douglas.. Yet he was nowhere near as fast as Ali
Make him miss make him pay!
Teach us how to beat Mayweather? Impossible.
