I personally dropped out of community college due to having an instructor who was a terrible teacher that didn't teach me right. Even though I work at a Toyota dealership as a lube technician, it's sometimes not a fun place to be. It's a miserable place due to poor management and crappy service writers. I still want to learn to work on cars to get into automotive racing and not work at a dealership for the rest of my life.
Is the pay worth the amount you'd likely lose? I wouldn't know. Why I think to get into something else but I'm just not sure what I can get into that I won't fail at.
oh and just as I was thinking of going off she mentioned having experience since young age. Something a large majority of mechanics have but someone like me didn't
If I was you I'd go into a trade school. You would be able to get into the trade for about 2 years and see if that is something you want to do. If it is something you would want to do. And you enjoy it. I'd recommend going into a college that has automotive classes and get certified. I specialized in a specific brand of car. But if you want. You could also make your own shop after college as well. It just depends on you
