Thanks for the kind review, glad you are getting some use out of the system - if you ever wanna have a chat about it, or game design in general do give me a shout! Keep up the good work!
Hey David! Awesome to hear from you. Would love to chat with you at some point soon. We'll be in touch. :)
Nice review, and I'm looking forward to seeing both this ruleset and Oath of the Frozen King in play. Just one note about spellcasting. Spells don't have a chance of failure. If you roll under your casting stat (adding the spell level to your roll) you cast the spell without depleting a spell slot. If you roll over, you still cast the spell, but you lose a slot. So a 1st level conjurer can keep casting spells until she fails a roll.
Went and bought all the PDF's for this game and I'm really liking it!!! Gonna give it a try this weekend!!!
love your channel and company looking forward seeing more great content.
Thanks Matt didn't realise I could get a hard copy!
buying now.
You know I dig this old school type of stuff.
OSR means different things to different folks, so just about any game (including this one) that claims that heritage is good enough for me.
Damn.. The Black Hack bundle deal is sold out. I hope they restock soon!
I appreciate a simplified RPG. Have you seen Steve Jackson's Toon? I have played TFT (Fantasy Trip) which supports solo games. I might ready a quick RPG game so that people can jump into a game using The Black Hack. Often, we play a board game instead of an RPG, because getting started in an RPG is likely a huge effort. Thanks for the video.
Reading new stuff is something always good. Here are a few systems that I recommend reading: The Dark Eye (awesome system in general), Ars Magica (for its magic system), L5R (a system that every melee character is different), Iron Kingdoms (not the D&D 3.0 one).
Can someone explain how to play this, i read the rules but dont know what im doing. XD
the devil horns. I luv it.
I want dice like that! Where are they from? The sort of matte dice.
Claus Olesen Gamescience I believe
1000th view yay me. also matt do you know roughly when harbinger v0.2 will be made available?
Late May/early June. We'll have some Harbinger news May 19. :)
Sweet. I know you guys are workin the oath of teh frozen king kickstarter and stuff. Really excited for harbinger and the new additions in v0.2.
You need to use a compressor on your audio. Your peaks are too hot.
I pride myself on my hot peaks.
Nice review! Definitely NOT OSR, though; just a rules light d20 D&D variant, really. But very well thought out, in my opinion.
Ben Asaro I disagree :P
First
Congrats.
Cool stuff matt! You always get me pumped about different RPG things (much to my wallets' distress at times LOL), anyway, can't wait for more stuff! Especially Harbinger! Here's hoping I can get in the playtest!
Keep it up man!
