- I see you really liked my project, I was already blown away from views the last video, I will continue to develop it, and this time, there is much more content!

I love that mario feels like the second player, he has the same physics like if he were a player chasing luigi, and the fact that he can get stuned is cool tho
And yet it feels *so much* like a choreographed animation rather than real gameplay footage

I've seen quite a few takes on the Mario 85 idea, but this has to be the cleanest looking one I've seen. I heavily look forward to progress on this!

Looking great! I would personally like to see more use of power-ups in later stages, subbed with notifs on because I wanna see your progress on the game, keep it up!
Definitely one of my favourite iterations of the game. Stays true to the original and its feel, while adding more interesting gameplay and better visuals.
I like the last one better. It catches you off guard and makes everything feel all sudden and stimulated, something fear is supposed to bring. Plus I feel like having the world become all demonic after you reach Mario helps add the sudden and unexplainable horror to the game, and really works with it being the first level of the game.
Edit: When I said "the last one" I was mistaking this channel for another channel called "SquishyBox" they had the gameplay that I thought this was a second video on. If you wanna know what I meant by everything I just said, go check their channel on it, they don't have many videos. And it was posted 4 weeks before this comment.

This is definitely a way better polish version than the last update we got, good on the mod team for this 🎉
I’m pretty sure Vinny would love this!
I really like this version of the game a lot but my only two critiques about it are:
1. when the screen goes black and MX appears in 1-1 i feel as though he should stay mostly shrouded in the darkness, like to where you can’t see anything but his cap, nose, and maybe teeth, to keep his final form (mostly) a surprise for someone that is completely new to Mario 85’.
2. I have to admit, MX looks slightly- *fat* in his final form during the last part of the 1-1 chase. other than that, i’m really liking Mario 85’ Redux so far, keep up the good work!

Dang, no matter how fast you run, MX will still catch up to you.
I can barely hear what MX is saying sometimes during the chase.
One gripe i have is when he jumps out the pit. The Wahoo! Doesnt really carry the same weight.

Innocence doesn't get you far...
I actually think the music being normal before everything going dark, bloody, and destroyed and then total silence worked better. Way more tension building.
I'd like to think this is the official Mario' 85, and none of y'all can change my mind. I mean it's like the original Super Mario, only if it had more of a horror touch. Also it further strenghtens MX's other objective: corrupt and distort what was once beautiful and joyful. This retake does exactly that.

How long has this been in the works for? It blows the updated 1-1 showcase out of the water by a longshot, which has been in development for roughly two years now by multiple people.

damn, unlike the boring Sonic EXE formula, where you just walk and die, MX gives you a real real drive. You don't just run from him, you dodge him, and at the same time, you yourself can jump on him, causing damage to him. This is what an example of an ideal Antagonist of a gaming creepypasta means, who is very dangerous, but at the same time it is possible to win. MX, Lucas, don't stop! go forward!

I like how the first seconds of encounter with MX shredding Toad is accurate to *Mario's Madness* before "Power Down" plays.
The most brutal yet best thing about this creepypasta is when MX reveals himself, grip Toad's neck, and throw it to the pole...sliced in half.

And this is the closest project to that idea.
I'm glad you're still working on this game, I saw Vinny Vinesauce playing the previous version of this. If you didn't see it, you should, his reaction was... something else... it took him an hour to beat the level.

This is coming along brilliantly! Just some suggestions:
I feel like there's a lack of powerups to collect here. I get this is a twisted version of Super Mario Bros, but from what I gather, even this twisted versions adheres to some fundamental rules, like giving out 1-Up Mushrooms and (I assume at points) Invincibility Stars to reward curiosity. There's many times where I was expecting a mushroom to come out of a block, only for it to be a coin. Powerups are usually given before and after challenging parts as rewards for the player.
I assume those mysterious enemies that can float in water are some twisted form of Bloopers. If so, then stomping on them should grant 1,000 points as shown by SMB2J (and also in SMB, albeit unused)
Luigi's fire-throwing animation is missing, though I assume that one was already known.
Just QOL changes that I’m sure they’ll add, I see
If I recall, the "Lack of Power-ups" is supposed to reference how MX originally never gave ANY power ups to Lucas, as to make it so he'd instantly die upon contact with him. So, I'm pretty sure the creators added at least a FEW so you wouldn't struggle so much, but not to many so that you'd get cocky or expect them everywhere.
Then again, this is just an assumption, it could be an oversight or something lol.
There are so many things that make this better than the original and the original remake. Where to begin...? Ah, yes!
1. The scrolling, the movements, the gameplay... all of them make you feel like you're actually playing an actual Mario game from start to finish.
2. The horror elements of the game, namely the enemies and hover board placements are well done and distorted. Especially the enemies, which become more grotesque as you progress through the game.
3. The backgrounds are ASTOUNDINGLY well done. It helps give off that special vibe... and it probably showcases the amount of power MX actually has. Speaking of which...
4. This pretty much MX's BEST showing yet. Not only does he keep chasing you like he did in the remake even when enlarged, but the additional scenes and lines for him help bring out the terror he invokes. Even the "Innocence doesn't get you FAR" part gets an upgrade, especially when the background slowly becomes grotesque after MX kills "Toad". The best part, though, is that, unlike in the original and remake, MX lets you have power-ups and 1-Ups... for all the good THAT'S gonna do against him. He perfectly demonstrates that a Fire Flower is only gonna slow him down slightly. Nothing more, and nothing less.
5. The music. Sure, the music for worlds 1-1, 1-2, and 1-4 are placeholders, but they honestly sound good!
All in all, this is the DEFINITIVE Mario 85 experience. Outstanding job, and keep up the phenomenal work! 👍

This is a very cool and spooky take on what mario 85 might look like, (this comment is when the official game isnt fully developed yet.) And I like the fleshy parasite like take for 1-2, (4:50) and the abandoned/taken over castle for 1-4 (5:51). Yet i feel like there could be a kinda tourn up bowser which is just a mx version of an enemy in disguise at 6:34.
