I know it seems so elementary but I LOVE when you include your "mess ups". We all learn from it, and it makes me personally feel comfortable attempting DIY projects, knowing even if I "mess up" i just have to adjust and move on, and still can come up with a super cool piece!
So true... it really shows how much she love doing her job and we should not be scared of attempting too...haha..
The waste basket and jewellery box were my favourite! im binge wathing macenna now with all her thrift flips. does anyone else have that feeling sometimes of just wanting to watch others do thrift flips?

I actually liked the middle section with the wire showing, industrial chic. But once the top rim was wrapped, there was no balance with the wire. So I would have left the top unwrapped to show the wire. BUT, I love her finished project, too!

Anyone else prefer the back of the semi circle wall hanging? It had more texture!
Her enthusiasm for hand weaving is infectious, i have no desire to hand weave but watching these videos make me want to try lol

Wonderful! I love that the thrift stores are now open and we can go see what is available. Love your ideas on these simple things, and I have seen things like this, just haven't really thought things out. Simple scrunched tissue paper (light color/adds texture) and mod podge on the glass. Keeps the glass from breaking further/falling into the box!
Macenna this should absolutely be a little series on its own - you often find such cool unique items to flip and I love that, but having ideas for things you are basically guaranteed to find at the thrift store is SO helpful and inspiring!! xoxo

The wastebasket -> planter is definitely my fave! The original wastebasket actually looked good enough but then you always make things better! It turned out an incredibly awesome planter Macenna!!! 😍♥
I think my favorite is the trash can turned into a planter. It all came together right at the end and its super cute! I really thought you were going to make another pendant light, which would have also been cute as well. My brain then started thinking about lampshades and all the things you could do with the metal structure. I don't know why I've never thought to cut everything off and just see what structure you're left with. Also, I really liked the placemats even before you did anything. I think they would have been cute in 2 large frames with a mat laying over a solid color, like either light grey or even a very dark navy blue, all white would be cute too though. You've sparked my creativity and now I want to go thrifting.

Cute ideas! Here is a tip for you that I discovered not long ago: get yourself some silicone fingertip thimbles for when you're working with hot glue. They're amazing! You can push down your hot glued items without burning yourself. I got them on Amazon, and wish I'd known about them years ago, would have saved myself so many blisters! Happy crafting!
Glossy accents is a great craft glue that dries not as fast but will not be visible. I thought you may like this tip for your crafting. Beautiful wastebasket for your plant. Sweet work. Love it.

I like watching the creative process. All three projects were very original. Love what you did to the basket. The wall hangings are always my favorite.

When you need to flatten cane lay it between 2 slightly damp warm dishtowels & set something heavy on top for about 10 minutes.
The last one worked out so brilliantly!

I actually thought that you were going to tie the yarn onto the openings of the placemat until you used the dowel. It looks really nice. I really like the wastebasket. It looks amazing!

I do enjoy your thought process when you are doing these. It helps me think through and process through trying to make something now. I used to would have just passed something by instead of really looking at it and trying to visualize it being something new.

For the jewelry box I think the style of the box and the cane would have worked better together if you sprayed the cane the same colour as the box. But I like the idea. It's really giving the box new life!
Would love to see if you can come up with a DIY version of the “paper-ish webbing” like you have hanging up in that frame behind you! I think you got it from home goods but would love to see a diy version! 😍😍

MaCenna, you could get some regular liquid super glue to gently squeeze into the broken glass. This might fill in the crack enough to conceal it on the inside. Any adhesive that dries clear would work, but don’t use too much. It might seep through to the cane and could possibly discolor the top.❤️

You and your little Kinsley are so, so adorable and besides that I really love all of your room makeover and design ideas! Everything you come up with is fresh, fun and creative! You also seem to have a very realistic and approachable style of DIY and you make Room Transformation look so fun and doable! You make it seem possible for nearly anyone to upcycle their living environment into something more beautiful... Thank You for the tons of inspiration you have already given to me... I have to admit I was a little worried with that middle section but as usual, you had just the right material to glue on and now it's fantastic! I didn't like the dark metal sticking through but you camouflaged it all with that pretty cotton edging. You are a very talented young lady, MaCenna. And you sure have a good eye for picking up bargains. xx
