The part where he is sitting on top Gulliver’s Adam’s apple and it moved around just made me so uncomfortable 😣 I think on some level cartoons shouldn’t be TOO realistic because then it becomes unsettling. I know Walt and his crew experimented with the Max Fleischer style on Snow White briefly but they stopped when they realized that it looked too stilted
Yeah that's rotoscoping for you. At least in early days of animation we didn't have the laws of animation established. You can see them budding here. Drawing with reference film instead of pure tracing, well th contrast between natural movement versus early animation is uncanny to kids today, fair enough. I was raised on this so it's as if I am more used to rooms of porcelain dolls. Can't see the uncanniness myself but I know what you mean.
