Repot me does have great soil mixes…I have used them in the past.
I do systemic granules for 3 months at least 2x a year. I treat all incoming plants with systemic granules because thrips are known to live in plant tissue…systemic granules will get those boogers. Also no systemic granules on outdoor flowering plants because it will kill pollinators.

Thanks for the great info. My biggest problem with new plants, especially from big box stores, is what to do with a plant that won't dry out. I struggle with this every time. Roots look good. Plant looks good. 5 days later the soil is still soaked. I mean I could squeeze it out. I obviously need better draining soil. Now what? Do I leave the roots exposed a day to dry out? Do I totally get all the wet soil out and shock the poor plant by digging in the center of its roots? Do I leave the center wet when I put it in better soil? I feel this could cause future problems with uneven water retention. My current new plant is a really pretty syngonium exotic allusion which is not rootbound but roots are hanging out of the bottom of the plant...because it's a syngonium. How do I handle repotting this saturated beauty?

@@LifewithAshleyAnita I actually quit alcohol since over 1+ years ago. I was a social drinker and now it's water or coconut water which I love :)). I feel better without bread and alcohol. I do miss bread though....it's hard!
