Another great and informative video. Just bought my largest plant yet, Snake plant, for North facing patio doors by the fireplace.

I get the plug off there as soon as possible it will stunt the roots if left on. It's like when I got a Magnolia tree and the men that planted it left it in the burlap less than a year it was dead. So look to see if it has a plug. 😊

What do you think of an idea where you can provide plant care services when people go for vacations/hometowns. You pick the plants, take care of them and drop it when they are back

Great video! I just wanted to share a helpful tip regarding repotting. While it's common to check for roots growing out of the bottom or waiting 1-2 years, a much more reliable indicator are changes in how your plant absorbs water. If you notice that water drains unusually quickly or slowly, or if your plant remains droopy even after a good watering, it’s time to consider repotting. Additionally, if the plant was purchased in poor-quality substrate or you suspect root rot, repotting can really give your plant a fresh start.
Also, amending your soil based on your personal watering style and placement (more drainage and aeration when placing plants in lower light or if you are an overwater).
I actually water much more often in the winter time. :) my plants grow all year so I’m fertilizing all year. You should fertilize as long as your plant is growing.
Keep up the fantastic work with your plants!

5:58 I very appreciate you adding the name because I’m in Australia and I’ve never seen one of these and I’m sure like a lot of people I’m a mess when it comes to repotting 😅.
And my soil is Leca ❤. The ones still in soil are in a good mix for the plant, but I don’t want soil inside 😅.

I just bought a snake plant at a local garden center and something about the soil has a really bad smell, like horse manure or formaldehyde. It's weird but it's driving me nuts and I may have to get rid of it. Any ideas on what it might be? There's some mossy material on top of the soil.

Wow. I don't think a plant should ever stink; *well, unless it's a corpse flower - ha!!
Maybe it's rotting? Maybe it's actually manure? Either way, I'd repot it asap. I've got my snake plant potted up in Captain Jacks Cactus and Succulent mix. It ain't cheap, but my snake plant and succulents potted in it do really well. If you decide to repot, I'd examine to roots and cut off any dead, dying or slimy roots and maybe spray it with some diluted hydro peroxide if rot is present. Hope that helps. Good luck!!

I recently repotted 2 Aglaonema Siam Auro as they weren't doing well. I found both of them had plastic cages around the ball, and the roots were trying to escape the best they could. Had to cut both of the off as it was hard getting them off. They are doing better now, but I think I may have put them into too much bigger of a pot.

Can anyone help me with a Calathea issue I’m having? The leaves are always curled in even though it’s never allowed to dry out completely. The roots look very healthy I’m not sure it’s issue, I’ve looked and can’t see any pests on it, I am kinda confused!

How’s your humidity? These plants are high humidity plants. I also suspect root rot due to overwatering. I would pull it out of the pot and inspect the roots. Are they mushy? Pull off any dead roots, spray with hydrogen peroxide and repot in a substrate with some drainage amendments but less than a philo. Up the humidity and keep it in medium indirect light- not bright.
