New plant parent here. My tip is not repoting plants right after getting them home. Put them in different places in your home to know where they like best and let them adapt to new environment. Good luck to those who are getting into plants 🌻❤️
I also suggest you to Plz keep a betel leaf plant. The one which has a very pleasant fragrance as well as very beautiful look which is gonna make you happy. But it needs moist soil and its leaves are edibles.
One of the things you can't unsee once you've seen it is there's something green and leafy in almost every single frame of PUL's videos, whether it's background, foreground, houseplants, nature, or in the recipes themselves. It helps make this channel such an alive, calm, welcoming space.
Your channel is like soul-spa, sadia. Thank you for making these videos. No amount of appreciation is enough for the quality and meaning you pour in your videos!💗
I initially came to your channel by recommendation of Evelyn from the Internet because I'm vegan curious. I stayed for the plants. I started my plant parent journey from seeing your propagation video awhile back. Please know that if you're ever in doubt, you are providing something glorious in this corner on the interwebs! For any fellow cactus plant lovers, I'm finally learning that our spikey friends thrive on a little bit of neglect. I used to love them to death by overwatering.
Even if a spider plant looks 90% dead, all brown and drooped, it can come right back to life green and beautiful with some extra sunlight and a good thorough watering. I think it's the easiest houseplant.
Yes! I saved one last summer and I felt like A Plant Hero, even though I literally just cut off the dead leaves and gave it some extra light and water.
The reason to be on RUclips ‼️❤️‼️ Sadia, I hope you get all that you seek and wish you never have a moment of doubt in your journey. Such a wonderful energy you bring to the world. 💫
I like all the peace revealed in ur videos. In our area u cant just have a moment of peace except for prayers of course. All kinds of problems fight our humanity and emotions every now and then. We are full of love and care but over occupied so that we even dont have enough effort to take care of ourselves. Fight with us to kick intruders out of our land. I just finished The Midnight Library a few weeks ago! It was a fascinating and warming reading. Also, I bought my first pothos and it's been sitting in my room for two weeks. I'll be coming back here often :) thank you so much ❤
I really love your content. You seem to be a nice person, the vibes that you send in your videos are so good !! Thank you, I really appreciate your calm, your good mood and the way you speak to your audience.
I need this, I don't want my planties to die... again 😂 By the way, I want to thank the two of you and also the whole awesome PUL team for making such interesting and informative videos! You are true role models! 🤗🥰
I started planting vegetables and herbs in my terrace last year, but I failed to keep them alive 🙄 But I am going to start again because of this video 😁 Love u so much 💞😉
Some great tips! I've definitely made more than one of those mistakes inn the past🙈 One tip i wanted to add is when re-potting a plant make sure you only use peat-free compost. Here in the UK if it doesn't specifically say 'peat-free" on the packaging then it contains peat! We need to do all we can to protect this precious resource as it is wonderful at capturing carbon!
Please let us know when you would go live on instagram, im so sad i missed your live last time 😭🙏 btw love when you post video about plans and great tips 🥰
I heard the Midnight Library just two months ago! I always wondered what kind of books you listen to on Audible! Loving the plant care videos! A very very new plant mom here. Hopefully all my plants grow and thrive! Lots of love.
Two things i’ve learned over time : 1. Water in the dish not on the top of the pot. 2. Leave the water in the dish for only 15minutes max. What is absorbed is the plant. More than that is just the earth drawing moisture in. Hope it helps ;), thanks! Dana
@Sean F if you’re doing that, avoiding the center with every watering, you will risk the roots in the center drying out and the sides getting too wet. So long as your pot has drainage, you can thoroughly water without risk. Imagine what happens when the plant is getting rained on in the tropical rain forest. When it rains, if pours. Letting the soil then dry out and making sure your plant receives enough light, you really shouldn’t worry about it rotting from the inside.
I started my journey with plants after seeing your propagation plant video and now I have more than 200 plants...❤️ I love my plants a lot as you do... Was very eagerly waiting for your video...😊
Hi Sadia ... I am Sneha here ...missed you and your video so much thanks for bringing something special .... This was such a useful video even I have thought to grow some of plants near here hopefully I got some inspiration as well as knowledge to do it
Thank you for the helpful tips. So grateful you also talk about the times it went wrong and you were overloving your plants and killing them. That happened to me and it bugged me to the level I threw out my old and dying plants and lived years without them. Until someone gave us a pancakeplant that started propagating. I have started buying plants again and with your tips for propagating and caring I'm hopeful things go right this time. And if one dies, I know now that it happens to the best of us because of your honesty. Thank you/dankjewel.
Oh absolutely! It's sad when a plant dies for sure, but I feel like you learn from it every time. We do our best and give them love, and hope they stay with us as long as possible 🪴
Don't you guys have heaters? You can plant one and pot it, then when it gets colder, bring it inside and keep it in a warm place. Purchasing a plant lamp might help?
A tip I received recently: as a general rule (but not 100% off the time) the lighter the leaf colour, the more light the plant needs. I found this info helpful so thought others might too ❤
Don't you get bugs, mosquito problems? Even if you are not over watering... But just coz you have soooo many... ... Love love love the greenery... I'm aiming for that... How many years of work to get that look
Great video Sadia and good tips that apply to both indoor and outdoor plants. I am mainly a outdoor gardener and I have a metre that checks what type of soil Alkaline, Neutral and Acidic and whether it is wet or dry. I am still learning even though I have had experience in ornamental Gardens. I am focusing on growing my own plant foods and will grow some ornamental plants in my allotment/garden too.
this book is good... kinda so real of...may be everyone... ive also thought of different ME in differernt parallel universe must have been enjoying...idk what not...
I kept my well growing succulents especially jades and different spices of aloe outside of my window because I watched videos saying they need A-LOT of sunlight to grow. I used to keep them inside the house with indirect sunlight or sometimes by the window during the late afternoons. So I changed that thinking I wasn’t giving my plants babies enough light to thrive. First few days their leaves sort of started changing colour like reddish around the leaves and the plant video said it’s just sunburns and it’s normal. Five days later, my plants were scorched and dead. I watered them by testing the soils but my jade plant was scorched on its upper half and rotting by its lower half. I probably shocked my plants with sudden change in the amount of sunlight they were normally receiving.
Good Afternoon Nadia. Thank you for sharing your tips. Loved them all. They will definitely help me. Hey I was trying to find that book you recommended in audible but I can not find it. Is there a link? Thank you in advance.
Hello sadiya Hope you and Robin are doing well. Loved the video as always. And that book is my favorite too. You can try reading other books from the same author.
Hi. On your video learn to propagate your plants from a year ago. You’ve got a beautiful background of plants. What accessories are you using so your plants hang so beautiful and full? I love the way you display your plants. Thank you for informative videos. I appreciate you.
You eat a lot of vegies, so you can totally just make your own fertilizer rather than buying it. I made my composter from some old paint buckets, and worms have been turning my fresh food scraps into rich fertilizer, soil, and "worm tea" for years. Though the main work for the environment involves challenging the huge companies that are wrecking it all, there's no point living healthy if people are buying everything, driving around, spending lots of money etc. Most of us can't spend this kind of money anyway.
Dear Sadia Thank you, you are so fun and clever and joyful, I enjoy in every video you post.I love love plants, Thank you for your tips+ Thank God for you+ Jesus loves you+ :*
oooohhhhhhhh the chopstick idea to check the moisture level of the soil is a good one. I had enough of getting my fingernail dirty sticking them into the soil. T_T I'm a new gardener and starting my own cottage garden using containers because I live in a rental and would want to take the plants with me when I move.
Anyone have any advice on how to deal with fungus gnats? I have tried sticky traps and diatomaceous earth, but haven’t quite eliminated them. Looking for something else a little more natural that might work before taking the chemical route. Thanks!!
Hi Sadia, I admire your knowledge on nutrition, recipe and positive lifestyle. I was wonder you could be imparting an effect knowledge sharing on the grounds of yoga. Have you ever thought that you should do systematic videos on asanas in yoga?
OMG what a beautiful collection you have 😍 I’m going to check to see if you have a video of your collection, if not, and you have the time, would you please consider doing a plant tour? Thank you
I have a question for anyone who can answer it. So i basically don't have any pots with draining holes (except for two that i use for my plants that dont like water so much) and I can't really buy since I don't have the money. So all my plants look really good and healthy (except for my aloevera wich i always tend to over water and kill....) but none of them have draining holes. Is it alright to keep them like this? Or is it SUPER important that I save up some money for pots with drainage holes? Bc I hear everyone talking about it like it's the end of the world not having drainage holes while my plants with no drainage holes look completely fine (even from the roots bc I've had most of them for a long time so if something was wrong with the roots then I'd have noticed by now and after all of the times ive repotted them)
