@Anth Romer If Jones dominates at HW too then he definitely will achieve GOAT status over Khabib. Khabib also had quite a padded record whereas every one of Jones wins has come against top guys, the man was beating the shit out of legends at the age of 24.
@Anth Romer those fights were after Jones had went on his legendary run. If he had retired after the second DC fight his resume would be unparalleled. Everything after is just a bonus and proved his longevity. I dislike Jones and like khabib btw.
@Anth Romer lol what? Khabib is not nearly well rounded as Jones. He's just an elite wrestler. Jones can do it all and has as many title defenses as Khabib has fights in the UFC. He doesn't come close to Jones. And Jon beat more world champions in their prime on his way to the top. He had 2 close fights? Lol big deal! All those legends and 2 close fights is proving the point.
It's going to be very interesting to see Bones without the (at times) extreme reach advantage he had at LHW. Technique, IQ, and brutality is what always made him shine though.
I don't think anyone but old-school hardcore MMA fans can fully appreciate Jones' career. Bonnar, Bader, Rua?! He easily dispatched some of the most impressive athletes in the space. Quickly, and with ease. Also, one of the first people I saw master a technique I thought I had invented in 2003 -- the "Ninja Choke". Still not used often enough.
This guy makes Khamzat look like a passive man ... lmao. I love Khamzat he's a soon to be king but that is how incredible Jones is that I can make such a joke. I get goose bumps watching this guy fight, never gets old.
He'll never be the golden boy again but his time away from the sport I think showed the true fans how much the sport truly loved him. Love him or hate him you can't tell me 90% of the fans aren't rooting for him
As someone who's been following MMA for around 2 years, it has been a time of following mostly lightweights, so most fights I've watched are from that division. I find the higher you go in division, the less fluid and tacnical fighters are. But watching this video it's just unbelievable to me how Jon jones can move like this. His IQ and fluidity makes even Khabib looks stiff to me incomparison. For the short time I've been following this sport, I've never seen this level of creativity in any fighter in any weight class. And after the Gane fight, I can see why he's the Goat. Cyril Gane was the evolution of Heavyweights and Jones ended him in 2 minutes. Unbelievable.
I truly dislike Jon Jones. He's one of the most hateable UFC fighters ever. But man... prime Jones was literally a destructive (and undestructible) force. His combination of size, strength, talent, athleticism, toughness, ferociousness, reach, sharpness, fighting IQ and versatility are unmatched in the history of MMA. I would say his only weak point was punching power, he has average power in his hands. But in every other aspect this dude is just monstrous. Plus, those vicious (and damaging) elbows and oblique kicks. God damn! Dude has to be the most complete and resourceful MMA fighter ever, right up there with Fedor. Anderson Silva, Conor, GSP, Cain, Demetrious, Cormier, Khabib and José Aldo come very close... but I do feel that Jones and Fedor had a slight edge over everyone else in terms of versatility. EDITED: On the other hand, Jones clearly lost vs Reyes... and arguably lost vs Santos. The brazilian even with a messed up knee managed to create all sorts of troubles to Jones. And Jones was the most severely battered fighter vs Gus (1st fight). His face was a bloody mess, after that fight.
Wrong. He was ducking actual champions like Ngannou for years because he was scared out of his mind. Had to wait for the actual competition with actual warrior spirits to make a stand for other fighters to be fairly paid and put their money where their mouth is to leave the UFC, so he could then step in and pretend to be the GOAT to easily fool people like you.
Jones last fight reminds me a lot of GSP vs Hendricks. everyone seems to kindof agree that he lost against the new gen .. and after that, kind of retired, only to come back years later in a bigger weight class.
I forgot how good Jones looked in those last 2 rounds against Reyes. Reyes won, and I think it's safe to say that we all know that, but man. What a comeback. It was sad to see what happened to Reyes in his next few fights. I had really high hopes and expectations for Reyes. A part of me still does.
@@andyhoughtaling6319 My point being there's no hope for Dom. And rightfully so, I'm glad there Isn't, because he's had a defeatist mentality ever since he lost. And rightfully It's that lack hunger that's got him like that as Jon has said In the past, he deserves to stay cut. I get the controversy of the decision, but he should've took the loss on the chin being humble Instead carrying It the way he did. He's truly the biggest "one hit wonder" In UFC history alongside Cody Garbrandt.
IZ woulda gotten destroyed, taken away in a stretcher 💯 and cemented himself as ☝🏽 of the MANY 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place fighters in the UFC. But he knew that weight class would taint his W/L column, NO matter how many rematches he had, there’s NO way in HELL he’d get past JJ… you spittin facts bro. ✊🏽🤙🏽
We have all made mistakes, we have all done and said stupid things....live and learn....move forward....JJ has and is doing so. Leave the past where it belongs people. Grow, evolve, get better....win or learn.....move on....that is JJ. He has come a long way, and the best is yet to come....love it.
Beautiful upload timing, this has got me so hype for the jones v gane fight. I think Jon has finally met his match. They are both pretty much identical in height, weight and speed. Although Jon has that 3inch reach advantage, I think Gane may just have that edge with his footwork. Going to be a fight for then ages!
Their physical attributes are pretty similar (I don’t know how strong Gane is in comparison), but I still think Jones edges him out. JJ has infinitely better grappling, more experience, and an arsenal that allows more creativity.
@@ClipsCrazy__ you’re are acting like we’ve seen Jones at heavy weight before, Gane definitely has the best footwork in the HW division, perhaps better than Jones? I can only go off what I’ve seen.
I've never understood how Reyes fought so well against Jon...definitely the best he's ever looked....but he (Reyes) never showed that amount of talent or hunger after that fight. He came closer to beating Jon than Santos, anyone he ever saw. Maybe he just rose to the occasion that night...or it was just the best he's ever been...but it would have been interesting to see him continue at that level or maybe even progress over the following few yrs. Holy shit thanks for pointing that out, as a fighter I see that as a "tap to strikes" which is frowned upon generally but in this situation I cant say that it was a bad idea. Thanks for pointing that out I missed it
Chael broke him so bad that even Jon and the refs didn’t realize it.
32:00 Joe's face will ALWAYS make me laugh 🤣
Absolutely awesome video, man. Very impressive. I'll be looking forward to your future videos 💪
this is the best video ever made on jon jones, no cap..
G.O.A.T no words to say
The greatest any of us will ever see in our lifetime, period. Feel blessed
@Anth Romer If Jones dominates at HW too then he definitely will achieve GOAT status over Khabib. Khabib also had quite a padded record whereas every one of Jones wins has come against top guys, the man was beating the shit out of legends at the age of 24.
@Anth Romer Imagine if jones had the amount of training khabib had🤣🤣🤣
@Anth Romer those fights were after Jones had went on his legendary run. If he had retired after the second DC fight his resume would be unparalleled. Everything after is just a bonus and proved his longevity. I dislike Jones and like khabib btw.
@@GoldRevolutions if you have khabib above jon your pretty crazy
@Anth Romer lol what? Khabib is not nearly well rounded as Jones. He's just an elite wrestler. Jones can do it all and has as many title defenses as Khabib has fights in the UFC. He doesn't come close to Jones. And Jon beat more world champions in their prime on his way to the top. He had 2 close fights? Lol big deal! All those legends and 2 close fights is proving the point.
We'll see after 3 years of inactivity if he still has it, but lemme tell you Jon Jones versatility is definitely GOAT stuff
Well… :)
He def got it
@@musashi.0 We saw nothing. The fight was short.

Watched the whole thing, was Honestly an incredibly video
Watch the Joseph Vincent documentary on jones
No doubt the best resume
Jesus Christ 9:17 that sound of the bone chipping off is just gruesome
It's going to be very interesting to see Bones without the (at times) extreme reach advantage he had at LHW. Technique, IQ, and brutality is what always made him shine though.
No it won't be interesting because Jon won't fight any of the young upcoming contenders so we'll never know
This is an amazing video. Thanks for doing this. Tv quality! Bravo
Love him or hate him you can't tell me 90% of the fans aren't rooting for him
He’s scary. His attacks have real Malice behind them.
So far, right on my dood! Spot on, JBJ is my guy, hard as that is. You know or you don't. Cheers.
Super solid video, thanks
Gane has no ground game. It's easy to understand why Jones won that fight. Gane didn't even try to defend that choke.
Man I almost forgot.. he made Rua tap from STRIKES.. crazy!
EDITED:
On the other hand, Jones clearly lost vs Reyes... and arguably lost vs Santos. The brazilian even with a messed up knee managed to create all sorts of troubles to Jones.
And Jones was the most severely battered fighter vs Gus (1st fight). His face was a bloody mess, after that fight.
really, really good video - pro effort. You've deffo earned another subscription :)
Jon Jones kicks are so brutal. it's crazy
You forgot to mention Jones most potent weapon : the eye poke.
say what ever you want about this guy, I will still respect him so much everyday every minutes every second.
Best to ever touch the canvas, whether you like it or not, these skills are one in a lifetime. Blessed to be able to witness shit like this.
What a awesome Jon Jones Doku..well done 🖤🤍
Great work on the video …and I believe the only thing that gets in his way is himself
The only reason people think Reyes won that is because the commentary team does that "OOOHHH" shit even when the strike is blocked.
Maybe it’s because reyes pieced him up on the feet ? And knocked him down ? And the fact that judges did a horrible job ?
@@supahotnoodlesapx9588 he lost
@@StevelyBruckShut i think it was a draw tbh , should’ve had a rematch . Too bad jones left the division
@@supahotnoodlesapx9588 You can't piece "anybody up on the feet" when the majority of your strikes are blocked or miss.
@@darkclaw1462 and you shouldn’t be able to win a fight purely on takedowns . Also those uppercuts and knockdowns clearly weren’t blocked LOL
Jones last fight reminds me a lot of GSP vs Hendricks. everyone seems to kindof agree that he lost against the new gen .. and after that, kind of retired, only to come back years later in a bigger weight class.
I actually thought that Lyoto would win that fight but... Jones submit the heck out of my man Lyoto.
every fight gets bloody @jonjons
can go the extra miles
His strikes are so fluid, extraordinary fight iq.
Reyes Is never really amounting to much In the UFC, and him being on the verge of being cut says all anybody needs to know.
@@darkclaw1462 okay?
@@andyhoughtaling6319 My point being there's no hope for Dom.
And rightfully so, I'm glad there Isn't, because he's had a defeatist mentality ever since he lost.
And rightfully It's that lack hunger that's got him like that as Jon has said In the past, he deserves to stay cut. I get the controversy of the decision, but he should've took the loss on the chin being humble Instead carrying It the way he did.
He's truly the biggest "one hit wonder" In UFC history alongside Cody Garbrandt.
Not even close to beating jones, he dominated 3 rounds of the fight after Reyes gassed himself in the first 2. Pretty easy decision
@@step_on_poo3278could have been a draw
He crushed alot of legends ....Adesanya was smart anuff to not get tricked into that JJ fight lol
IZ woulda gotten destroyed, taken away in a stretcher 💯 and cemented himself as ☝🏽 of the MANY 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place fighters in the UFC. IZ wouldn’t even get past Reyes, Perriera, or better yet Gustafson… as LH is his true weight class. But he knew that weight class would taint his W/L column, NO matter how many rematches he had, there’s NO way in HELL he’d get past JJ… you spittin facts bro. ✊🏽🤙🏽
LEGENDARY EYE POKER
We have all made mistakes, we have all done and said stupid things....live and learn....move forward....JJ has and is doing so. Leave the past where it belongs people. Grow, evolve, get better....win or learn.....move on....that is JJ. He has come a long way, and the best is yet to come....love it.
Salute the GOAT. Multi-level fluid attacks and counter-attacks.....non-stop
You think GANE has better footwork?!?! Are you crazy?!?
Their physical attributes are pretty similar (I don’t know how strong Gane is in comparison), but I still think Jones edges him out. JJ has infinitely better grappling, more experience, and an arsenal that allows more creativity.
@@ClipsCrazy__ you’re are acting like we’ve seen Jones at heavy weight before, Gane definitely has the best footwork in the HW division, perhaps better than Jones? I can only go off what I’ve seen.
This is the same thing said before every jones fight. This is nothing new
Lol
Jon jones is the best fighter I have ever seen.
Had that happened....who knows what he could have been? Great fight tho
I think Jones' prime has passed from the Santos fight. Forget about Gane fight, it was a warm-up.
he said he wanted to be one of the best and became the all time greatest martial artist in the world and it’s not even close
This type of guys were kings, and warriors, and wild mens...at old times, not bound by rules,brave,bold,fatal..
