- Welcome to this new series on my channel where I will talk to my friends who after their MBBS in India went on to pursue higher training abroad - Global Med Journeys. In this episode, I’m talking to Dr. Prachi Kothari, who’s a junior doctor in the NHS. She talks us through her entire journey, resources, planning, PLAB exams and the ups and downs of the journey, with her insights and tips each step along the way. Hope you find this helpful and drop in your suggestions for what country should I cover next?

Incredible girls! I am a Consultant obgyn, just like that came aross your videos. After MBBS I wanted to pursue for USMLE. I started preparing for it from 1st year(Crazy) itself. But as I finished my MBBS (2012), I saw that all of my friends were preparing for NEET PG, I didnt have enough guidance back then. I thought without proper guidance I would not be able to crack MLE and would loose the time to become an Indian doc as well.
So here I am full of contentment and much obliged to my God and my Parents because of whom I am now a Consultant Obstetrician, Gyn Endoscopic Surgeon and Infertility Specialist. 🙏😅
Next video on how to manage MBBS( 1 st year ) and USMLE prep simultaneously 🙆🏻♂️
Gave the reason why you not have a yt channel
Yes please!

How many hours do I need per day if I plan to give step 1 in 6 months
Depends
Legends are watching this in 12th😶
tbh this sounds a lil complex and scary but I believe I will be fine
Mam you are my inspiration. You inspired my future. I am currently in 12th but could you please help me in 2 years . My name is Aayush and I am determined to become a CT surgeon in US .
All the best for NEET :)
@@dr.rashimahajan Thankyou soo much Mam 💐
@@aayushabit49pehle neet toh crack karle, then usmle ka sochna
Mam I've a question that do UK universities provide scholarships and how it is? Would u clarify this, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!🙂
There’s never fees associated with NHS jobs, like Dr. Prachi mentioned
PLEASE IN THE NEXT VIDEO SUGGEST HOW CAN WE FINANCE THE ENTIRE JOURNEY ON OUR OWN WITH NO PARENTAL SUPPORT.IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO TAKE A LOAN?
Sure. You can always work for a couple of years and save up for your training in the US.
Which is better usmlrpe or plab which helps to get job
Both :)
@@dr.rashimahajan i saw many video saying that its so difficult to het residency after tge internship of two year there and high chance of remaining as an intern
I'm not in MBBS right now. But most probably would enter this year. I'm planning for PLAB over USMLE.
WHAT TO DO IF WE DON'T MATCH. WILL THE ENTIRE MONEY AND EFFORTS GET WASTED?
In USMLE ? You'll likely have to reapply to get a position.
@@dr.rashimahajan yes USMLE. THANK YOU
Hello Dr. Rashi. My daughter just finished her 2nd year. can we connect you via mail to get more information on PLAB n USMLE, etc,
Hey. I am not doing any one on one mentoring sessions currently. Will keep YT and IG updated if I do.
Suggest Some books for plab 1 exam.
The resources Dr. Prachi suggests for PLAB 1 are mentioned in this video :)
Thankuhh
A video on comparison between US and UK for IMGs pleaseee
Okay. Will do !
Can we give plab step 1 while being an intern in India?
I don’t get your question, but yes i guess
In order to apply for plab 1 we need to have PMQ which we don’t get until we finish internship in India. So is there any other way
@@meghanad7881that’s not true, you need your PMQ for GMC registration, not PLAB
its cakewalk for fmge students 1min per question
The type of questions are different, for FMGE and USMLE and PLAB
