    Another question, now that passing mrcs and mrcp exams gives one gmc registration, can one use the registration to apply for junior doctor positions or fy2 or non-training positions to get used to the system instead of getting directly into the respective training/registrar jobs?

    You mentioned they no longer take GP and PSYCH trainees directly through the mrsa exam route,
    So is there a way for an IMG outside the UK who has not done plab to enter into UK directly into GP or psych training without doing plab?

      No. But you'll have to speak to a few higher up people if you want to quit GP. Portfolio not affected. But anywhere you apply you'll have to explain why you wasted a GP seat.

    Hi doc,
    Does the one-year house job from back home count for both foundation years, or do we need to get an FY2 job in the UK after PLAB?
    I wish to apply to CST after PLAB. Do I need any post-house job experience from my home country? How should I proceed to CST realistically, and what jobs/posts would I need to fill in between?

    • @drAbhinavKr
      @drAbhinavKr  5 месяцев назад +1

      Don't show more than 18 months of surgery rotation as part of house job or you won't be allowed to apply at cst 1st year level. You should also have over 1 year gap from time of mbbs completion to count for F2. So applying for cst after internship won't be possible.

    • @bae3m4n
      @bae3m4n 5 месяцев назад

      @drAbhinavKr So, taking a gap year after the internship is necessary for CST. Is that gap supposed to be an F2 level job in the UK, or should I go for a formal teaching here and/or maybe try to clear the MRCS?

    So first you subtly try to discourage people from going straight into training. Then you outrightly say you want it "regulated".
    I wish the "regulations" existed BEFORE YOU came in.
    IMGs like you have forgotten how hard it is to know exactly where you fit in in a new system. We do MSRA because we actually want to be GPs. If anyone finds outs half way that it's not for them that's fair. So stop putting out these ridiculous videos.

    I want to become GP. SIMPLE. I dont intend to join any other specialty.
    What things can i do back home to strengthen my CV for it.
    I am on plab pathway but recently decided to give MRCP part 1 so it will look good on my CV.
    Not sure how this will come across in my interview when applying for jobs. (If i get them)
    As you mentioned people come to UK through MSRA route, start with GP training and then join their desired specialty once they get them?
    Well that's not fair to someone who genuinely wants to become GP in the UK.
    Will MRCP 1 come across as irrelevant on my CV?
    I hope they don't think i will also deceive and run away from GP like many others!

I hope you'd take time to answer these Abhinav, a ray of hope in darkness. Many thanks!!

    Doesn't msra need crest form and training application sir

    • @drAbhinavKr
      @drAbhinavKr  6 месяцев назад

      It does need a crest form. People often get that signed in their home country itself after 1 year of work experience. Although crest from abroad doesn't translate into much value in the UK from my experience. Best is the FY2 route with crest signed in the UK itself.

    • @abdokhalid1722
      @abdokhalid1722 5 месяцев назад

      That's not false hope. It's more of a risky call to join the nhs in a training post. Because basic knowledge of the nhs as a system and how it operates is lacking when an IMG enters speciality training. And if god forbid huge mistake happens and you're sacked out of training. That would be a career ending situation at least regarding practicing medicine in UK because your chances of getting into another training would be so slim

  • @uh3463
    @uh3463 3 месяца назад

    Very wrong advice .People use GP to enter the system as a back door .I am seeing so many IMG'S who joined Gp trainee as thr first job .After 3 years what they will do ? They will get saturated and many Gps will come out,who doesnt know what to Do .After 3 years trainee who will give COS for another 2 yrs aftr training and later ILR .Bro you may get some money for putting this video.But see the bigger picture ,you are making a broken system more broken .
