look at all the key board warriors here . these pilots are top end. flying gliders that fly very well but are hard to launh even in easy conditions due to their spiceyness and aspect ratio. these guys dont have the luxury of waiting they just have to go, for their time slot. each one of these pilots have 100s if not 1000s of hours of air time. its funny when you see these comments as some of you probably can barely launch an A glider in laminar air at the coast without fucking up yet comment on pilots flying CCC gliders
I can’t believe some comments here. CCC gliders have a high aspect ratio and a take off can be sometimes quite tricky even in a hands of a good pilot. Also, these guys have a certain time for take off during competition. That means they don’t have a luxury of waiting ‘till the coditions are right...sudden gust of wind, strong thermal or what ever, they try to get in the air as quick as they can.
1:07 isn't that my old Enzo 2?? the Orange and Blue Enzo taking off?! never saw another in the same colours when I was competing; I wonder if is still flying competitions, I sold it to Johan at the Netherlands, if I recall Correctly... , was in very good Shape, but Not sure if good enough to keep running at high level competitions, if is so, I sold it Cheap! XD
Forget kiting... most of these guys don't even know what a torpedo position is... but then again, they are participating in a motorcross race around an ever-decreasing radius track... The takeoff at 13:27 is cool, though...
If you look at the brake inputs it's a very rough start. They all fight for a good launche and nothing to compare with a steady beach. I would wait till the wind get calmer.

Wind speed is a lot faster at the top slope. Too bad there wasn’t a spot to launch about 150ft down from the top.

You can tell who's actually done their kiting practice haha. Some of those launches were rough.
