I loved hang gliding for a ten year period, late 80s to late 90s, untill my elbows and shoulders didn't like it so much. I tried to switch to paragliding but never got used to a soft wing or having to look between your legs what you were possibly going to hit when encountering sink ha ha. To see the control and skills of these pilots and knowing what great athletes they are is truly humbling.
Exactly the same for me. I used to thrive on intense flying conditions…..then suddenly it switched and I realized how easy it is for shot to go very wrong….and I haven’t flown since

Markus Anders - you can check his X-Alps videos. This was quite far in the race. Let's not forget that by that time all the athletes were completely sleep deprived and regularly flying in crazy conditions.

Wenn man das so sieht, stehen einem die Haare zu Berge. Gute Plazierungen dadurch zu erreichen, dass man mit Harakiri Aktionen Zeit spart, hat wenig mit Sport zu tun. Besonders ausgeprägt bei diesem Chrigel...
